The productions that look like a stage, or actually recorded on a stage, hit me me a lot harder than the ones that look like Hollywood movies. They give me the feeling I got when I saw them live.
To do that they would probably need to recontract with all those involved who were hired to produce the soundtrack of the video. I doubt that it would be economically viable.
@@brianaustin5467 You're making some assumptions about the contracts that they *did* sign with people that (unless you're an insider and I don't know it) you can't *possibly* have knowledge. Yes, surely; industry standards and like that. This was /ALW/, rerecording /CATS/ for film. It's a mug's game to assume they were standard contracts.
I grew up watching the video tape over and over again and dancing in my parents livingroom. I saw the production in London and was bored. The movie cast truly are amazing. The theatre experience didn't even came close.
I've seen it 3 times, twice in New York and once in London. The London show was hands down my favorite. It is different than the DVD performance, but I won't say any more, I don't want to give anything away or ruin the surprises!🥰😍
@@jonathanfajans3116 wow I totally have not thought about doing that. Oh wait, I have. It does not exist. The only cast recordings they released were the original London and Broadway casts, and "highlights" from the 2019 film.

Every time I hear Andrew Lloyd Webber speaking, it jolts me. I've only known since "The Shows Must Go On" that he is British. So, I've always read his statements in a USA accent.

So many quotes from this absolutely TEAR the 2019 movie to shreds
The movie does that to itself all alone, lol.
Lol imagine if Hooper watched this and was like so this is how you actually run an orchestra lol
Which ones
PLEEEEAAASE get this version of the recording on Spotify!!!
Juliana Giro Wholeheartedly second this! I was bummed out to see that it wasn't on there

Why didn’t they do a new cast recording for the revival? I would have bought it
I got into this musical about a month ago and every time I learn something new I fall more and more in love with it
I'm a huge fan of Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber and of Cats so this is a real treat! Very interesting and exciting.
I too am a fan of Floyd Mayweather
Keeping close to the spirit of the stage show (6:11) is something I wish had been done with the new movie.
My dream is seeing Cats live✨
Same. There’s only so many times I can watch the film or listen to it 😂😂
The phantom of the opera my favourite musical ever

Could watch all those old tapes for all day...
I'm very much enjoying these cats backstage clips keep them going :)
i could listen to him talk for hours, and as it turns out, I do.
Amazing and remarkable !!!
Imagine going to the trouble of re-orchestrating and recording it again but not making the soundtrack available anywhere. :')
Just search for the 1998 movie soundtrack, and there you go.

Can you do Down Once More from Phantom Of The Opera 25ty Anniversary

The fact that he had a knighthood and a peerage should have been a clue.(lol)
@@brianaustin5467 , good point. However, I've never spent much time noticing peerage and knighthood.
@@kimberlycooper4170 ...or that he was called Sir Andrew and latterly Lord Lloyd-Webber. ;)
Great play !

Ok, so you beat it to death for a 90 piece orchestra.
Did you record it? For release, I mean?
MASTER !!!
even back then they used nt1-as
that is proof that one doesnt need $3000 to make a good sound
3:30 Wish Andrew had told Elaine to fix her phrasing too.
I love phantom of the opera so much
And I like Thai green curry, but neither of them has anything to do with this clip.;)
