I find it interesting how Sezane with their new approach (extreme amount of drops, lowering quality and losing their true Sezane vibe) now actually cause many women to feel overwhelmed and moving away step by step from them. I feel this as well after buying SOOO much clothes from Sezane, especially lately and being more and more aware of this feeling that I just want to slow down. I am becoming more mindful of what I am buying.
I did the same mistakes and I learned the following: We do not need to spend so much money on clothes. Being elegant and stylish does not mean to have 100 jumpers or coats or shoes. Sezane has beautiful colors and designs often the price does not worth .. there many syntetic pieces that I found really expensive. With time it is getting also boring always to buy clothes. Now I do the following: I am buying 100 % wool or cotton and made in Europe. There are really stunning pieces in Sezane but when I see the composition of polyester I do not buy it.
Hi Sandra, thanks a lot for sharing your 6 things learned. I couldn’t be more agreeable with you. I’ve only known Sezane for about 1 year and half but I’ve spent a significant amount on their pieces (yes I feel guilty too at the end of the day when I felt I finally woke up from the hype). Sezane’s sales strategy creates a FOMO feeling which is manipulative on customers’ shopping habits. I ended up buying many same items in different colors and bought many pieces that I didn’t really like and had never worn one time. I had to sell those pieces that I don’t like or do not fit my style or height, brand new but at a discounted price. I’m a petite girl but I bought many Max shirts, two Clyde trench coats. I also bought a jumper during the Archieve but it contained 37% mohair which caused itchiness and irritation. It was indeed very itchy, despite being a gorgeous looking piece. I bought the Betty, Barry, Gaspard and Amiel jumpers all in multiple colors but some of them I had never worn. I feel like I’m simply collecting the color pallets for an item that I like. Sezane has raised up their prices for North America and Australia customers, but the composition and quality has declined significantly compared to their items in the old days which were mostly made in European countries and used more decent fabrics. Starting recently, I have contemplated my purchasing habit and reviewed all my past purchases, I must say that we’ve gotta be rational on buying too many clothings. It’s not just a matter of spending money, it’s more than that. Most of us are just ordinary people who do not need as much clothings as social media celebrities…Sadly it’s no longer a slow fashion brand anymore, too many and too often new drops. It’s really become overwhelming…
Totally agree, Brands incute this inception that we need to collect clothes in different colours. It’s beautiful for the eyes but we definitely don’t need as much clothes. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts ❤️
Hi Sandra, thanks for sharing your experiences. I have to say that I share some of it with you, especially when it comes to the FOMO surrounding Sezane's collections, and the fact that I want to try other brands as well - which honestly isn't that easy, as given my body type, most of the similar brands target a much taller and slimmer body frame, and I love Sezane's 70's vibes, although not so much the warm tones. That said, I've been thinking a lot about the amount of returns I've placed this year as well since I started my channel, I appreciate what you said about the fact that we share our thoughts and review these pieces online, we can help avoid a small percentage of returns. I hadn't thought of that before! Still, I think capitalism doesn't give us enough time to really appreciate what we already have (naming the weekly releases, increasing number of collections throughout the year, and I'm not just talking about Sezane here but the fashion industry itself), for 2025 I want to buy less and give more love to the pieces I already have and really love!
I would also say better to be surrounded by people we love that with so many material things. Remember girls it is up to you ! The more we are supporting the massive market the less quality they will offer to us.
That is a really interesting point of view as Brands are releasing this amount of collections because they know there's a market for that. They know they will sell the majority as our Society have this inception of consumption to be happy due mainly by all social media. We really need to start slowing down!
I liked your direct and honest approach in this video . When I discovered Sezane , I was so in love with their collections that I was buying far more than necessary. I now learnt more about myself and I developed my style and like yourself I feel the best wearing classic cuts and colours. I think I also reached a point of saturation with Sezane , and I’m planning to be very selective in the future . One of my other favourite brands is Rosaé , they are very minimalist and quality brand.
You provide inspiration and thank you for that. Your style choices and clothing combinations are ones of a talented person, with attention to detail and I appreciate that. At the same time, I understand that in order to review pieces for us when you have a channel, you will inevitably order more with perhaps a view of returning even most of them, hence even if you buy 90 items to review in 2025, it’d be great to hear you returned 80 of them (so to speak!). I agree on incorporating other brands in the content though - it’s not easy to find global brands with enough appeal and trending as much as Sezane but I’m sure creativity will win and you’ll find some great things to speak to us about. Happy New Year and thanks for sharing those lesson here.
The good does outweigh the bad in your case. I have only ever returned 2 items to Sezane thanks to you and some other people I watch. I find your videos so helpful. Knowing my colour palette is probably the most useful thing for me, as it stops me making mistakes!
I had made the same mistakes. I went and got a colour analysis done so that I stop buying it because something is cute or FOMO and focus on mindfully buying pieces. Slowly selling off some sezane items that don't flatter me and buying those items with natural fibers so I'm more sustainable. This is a nice, inspiring video for the New Year.
You do love Sezane, I am excited to see where you shop next. ❤😀 I would love to see Portugal showcased, I will visit later in the year and nosey around in your boutiques, I have no doubt there are locally made breathtaking shoes and clothes to delight all foreigners.
I bought Tomboy shirts in different colours. The reason why I did is, that thay are extremely classic and I m not sure if I would like to something with lace on it. They are perfect as they are, but yes I wouldn't do that with jumpers or coats. Thank you for good advice 🙂
Yes, me too and I really think there's definitely exceptions. I also have the Tomboy in 3 different colours because these shirts are incredibly versatile. I was specifically talking about knitwear, coats, maybe shoes as well. Thank you for your comment ❤️
I also bought countless pieces in 2024, because I had rediscovered the brand and was totally fascinated. Above all, I exaggerated it with the archive objects, actually these are just a little cheaper and you had to be very fast. It was like an addiction, I looked every day to see if new pieces were available again. And if so, just put it in the shopping cart immediately before it’s gone again. So I bought a lot of pieces that I simply bought out of greed. Of course these are beautiful but it’s just too much. In part, I also noticed later that a size smaller would have been better. I also have to stop buying, I have for example the hugo Parker, the clyde trench coat and now there is a similar one, very short and a similar medium length, I would also like to have these crazy, because I hardly wear the clyde, it is just too long for me, a shorter one would be better and now there are such, but I can’t buy all of them in every length. It’s extremely difficult to control myself.
Thank you for sharing your experience. It's very hard stop buying when we love fashion. Maybe you can get your Clyde shorter to a length that better suits you instead of shopping the new shorter version. ❤️
I completely agree on these points, especially about the synthetic fibers. I just can’t tolerate those knits with synthetic fibers, they are instantly overheating and super-itchy. The colors tempted me, but no more. The statement items I’ve bought from Sezane don’t get much wear because they are too memorable, the classics are better. I also regret the suede/leather clothes I got from them because I can’t tolerate the stink of the goat-leather they use, it’s ghastly.
Continue!
Who needs that much clothing?? The cupboards are full! I assume you are in your 60s and I am very surprised that you are only now discovering the basic rules of conscious shopping for yourself. Please show us possible combinations and how we can style many variations from good pieces. Don't keep buying more... I support your last sentences in the video and think this approach is very good for your goals. For me, you are a type of classic, sporty elegance and I imagine that fashion from Ralph Lauren, for example, would suit you very well.
Thank you for your input. I think in a way or another we are a little guilty of "over shopping" even if we are not young girls anymore. In 2024 I did shop less and I intend to buy even less this year. I noted your request of doing more styling combinations with staple pieces.
Some have mastered conscious shopping. Others have bettered themselves in cultivating grace and kindness. It 's nice to be conscious of what you put out in the world in all aspects of life.
You can wear only one outfit at a time. Most people don't have the money to purchase 90 items in a year from Sezane, much less keep 30 of them. What you are saying is that you kept enough Sezane merchandise to wear a different outfit every day of the month, just from what you bought this past year. A bit excessive don't you think?
I do respect your opinion, but what you did the numbers wrongly because It's 30 items for a WHOLE year. An outfit is usually composed of more than one piece, in Winter can be 5-6 items. Even if I wore only 2 (which is not possible) of those 30 items per outfit, that would make for 15 outfits. 15 outfits to wear during 12 Months, leads us to less more than 1 outfit/month, RIGHT? You should also take into account that I need clothes to review for these beautiful women that rely on my videos to make their purchases. Well, and not only to review but also to present you with lots of outfit ideas (as you can see from my video history). This is my JOB.

Exactly! Thanks for sharing your point of view ❤️
I agree, with all the constant drops I'm actually less inclined to look deeply at each one
@lucombre Definitely true. It’s one more drop and I’m feeling the same

Totally agree with you! I'm not buying any more knits with polyester, they're overpriced and are poor quality indeed.

Hi:) Great video. I believe there is a missing piece on the video. Your top and bottom 3 items from sezane did not show:/
