Woo-hoo! I finally moved the lathe to my workshop and cleaned it, disassembled and painted. It's as good as new now and its second life began. See how it was ;)
Those old lathes and milling machines are pure gold. Solid, dependable, and if maintained will run reliably forever. I am happy to see this one getting the attention it deserves
Clearly one of the most underrated workshop channels on UA-cam! Keep up the amazing work. I would love to see even longer and more detailed restoration videos. Take care.
Awesome! The color is yet debatable😂Imo every atempt to restore and keep old Machinery alive and at work is a good thing! I have about 30 small to big containers to seperate diverent stages and partsections of a project while cleaning/repair. this keeps it easyer to put it back together..
you are truly amazing...impressive and inspiring creative and skillful person...i have no doubt you would even be able to build your own engine from scratch...your design skills as well, referring to your other videos...your acting snips are soooo funny! i wish you had more videos...thank you Lucia...🌹
I have been machining for 11 years now, 3 years professionally. I am amazed at your ability and impressed by your diaduschka's teaching and your learning. You are an incredible fabricator!
Well I have watched many lathe restorations and along with the fact you are beautiful and nice to look at you are as skilled as anyone I know so way to go at being awesome!
Wow! Major job and Excellent work. You should get Many More years out of that lathe. I really like your choice of paint. No more drab and ugly greens and greys of the '50s. And 2 tone even. Far Out! 👍👍👍👍👍
Fantastic restoration of a beautiful lathe, good job. I love this two tone blue & have often used the same colour scheme for my own machinery. Just binge watched nearly all ur series, love them, wish there where more. Keep up the great work guy’s.
This is amazing. .....and you say your background is in banking and social sciences? There is then no other way to explain your abilities other than that you are a genius. This channel should hit several million subscribers soon. Congratulations young lady and keep it up.
First video of yours I saw was the how and why you got to do this video. When you said you could do anything if you put your mind to it, THAT rang a bell, exacctly what I believe too and have since I was a boy back in the 60'ies and 70'ies. Back then all I was told was : You can't do that, you're just a boy or later , you are not trained for that. If your mind is set to do what it takes YOU CAN. Wish I had a workshop like yours. So many ideas and projects in my head. Your dedication will prevail and make this channel grow. Awesome Lucia.
Remember to tie your hair up and do not wear gloves while operating the lathe. I was surprised to see grease on the lead screws. I use spindle oil on my lathe and mill. Your results look great!
WOW that looks really spiffing ( as we say in the UK ) good on you lady that's the way I like my machines spike and span neat and tidy and the colour is just right that's a big YES from me
Old Soviet machine, i bet it is 1/3 heavier than western counterpart. I grow up with western and eastern metalworking machines and people from the west do not realize that eastern European and Soviet lathes, milling machines, grinders.... are on average better build than western one. There are some superb built machines from Rhula, WMW, Avia, TOS, Bullmak, Potisje, Prvomajska and Stankoimport branded ones. Keep up the good work. I have noticed that you also have nice tool room milling machine from Soviet times.
Great channel...i guess i missed what kind of lathe this is. I was nervous about the blue but once i saw the finish i don't think it could have been any other color.
Interesting u tubes. you seem to have a wide range of skills. do you have an engineering degree or something? I have that range of skills myself, but I've been working at it for 50 years. Keep it up. I enjoy watching. And you can do that work without even chipping a nail. Impressive indeed. also, what is that old lathe?
Very nice work on cleaning up the old lathe, do not know if your familiar with a product called Scotch Brite it’s a non metallic material for cleaning metal surfaces ( used it in the aerospace industry ) comes in four different grit sizes from course to fine, if you a desire a photo of the material let me know…. Have a nice day
Nice job on the lathe. Has your grandfather seen it? What does he think of the color? Does he come see what you are working on? God bless you and your family!
You should build yourself a wash tank for electrolysis, make your restoration projects a bit quicker. For small pieces, a car battery charger provide sufficient charge to strip rust from pieces.
These employed a lot of guys. I had a friend that worked on one one and then one day they informed him he was being replaced with the automated. They said he could keep his job running the automated one, but he wanted no part of it and retired. That was back when things were still being maufactured in the US. Things made in Chicago were considered to of the highest quality and people were happy and life was good. So what exactly is the economic engine there now?
It can possible be the German company called 'Burkhardt-Weber' today. They are cooperating or owned by the Brazilian company Romi S.A . Maybe you can start your search there, and/or directly with the German company. Sorry, I am not familiar with those machines

Wow! That’s amazing! Ready to go for another few generations.
So good to see a machine restored instead of replaced ! A Lot of work , but you don't shy away from that! Nice.
Very nice job I like the couple things that weren’t painted I could almost see your grandpa in them
It's so refreshing to see a woman who understands that grease is our friend.
This channel is going to be huge one day. Keep it up, you're awesome!
Thank you very much! I hope so :)
Watch the Russian language channel. Lots more excellent content. Thanks from the 🇬🇧 UK.
I agree. Lucia is great to watch. Dose such a nice job. This channel can only grow bigger.
You are fearless! (That's a good thing)
Yes how many of these machines aren’t still in good use thanks for doing this ❤
your amazing, your grandpa must be very proud!
Another brilliant video.
Ya I have no idea how you keep your clothes so clean but you have my admiration.
As I mentioned watching your belt sander build...YOU YOUNG LADY, ARE AMAZING! Nice restoration, thank you!
I think that she is awesome also!
Beautiful work, looks great, just like new ❤

Hi Interesting choice of colours, but a very good job, keep up the good work. Bye Duncan
It's looking great again, Lucia!🤩👍
Nice to see these old machines being put back to use again. Well done, and keep up the work.

Great job. Well done, it looks brand new.
That lathe is a beauty!
Wish my grandad was still around and could restore the old lathe he had 😢
Great restoration
This was enjoyable to watch. Care and effort can move a mountain. I applaud you and your family.
Wow! That’s an amazing restoration.❤️

Excellent restoration! Thanks for sharing!
Your videos are very inspirational, in large part because you do things on a relatively low budget, and your work is beautiful.
Everything about this video is amazing
Thanks for sharing
You go, lady!
That’s a very nice job!
Wonderful job. It looks great.
Lucia I am so impressed by your skill and dedication you are an example for all of us should strive to be, make it a great day, jw
The only issue I have is you live so far away and you can't teach me hands on. Maybe some day I can come to your country.
Nice job, would love to have a lathe like that.
Good job!

Thank you Erik. Yes, I felt the same earlier and you are right ;0)
Once again, well done! Go get those chips flying now.
Fantastic.
Please put glasses to protect these beautiful eyes
A very pretty and talented young lady, doing an excellent job.🖕🖕🖕
Remember to tie your hair up and do not wear gloves while operating the lathe.
I was surprised to see grease on the lead screws. I use spindle oil on my lathe and mill. Your results look great!
Great job. I look forward to seeing you get it dirty!
jack
Thank you! I already used it so it got a bit dirty :0)
Awesome restoration Lucia!
Thank you!
Awesome!
You do really god work! Where do you get all that energy?
The sneeze was one of the best parts of the video!
Thank you :0)
You know, they say: "I see the goal and don't see any obstacles" ;)
Nice 😊😊🌹🌹🌹🌹🇬🇧

I am so tired of seeing green and grey machines, love your color scheme throughout the shop.
Maravilla de restauración ❤️🛠️
Those Soviet era machines are very robust and well engineered .
Kit from Down Under
9:04 I've been there before, I once put an entire truck transmission back together only to find a left over retaining ring in the parts pan.
It happens :0)

Hola. Te veo desde Argentina. Te animo a continuar con tus videos
Ashley done.😊
Awesome!! I am redoing a Old Sheldon lathe and I stripped it all down to bare metal and my it's making me want to get it together so Bad.
You did an amazing job. Lathe looks brand new now. Any plans to do the same to the milling machine.
Someone may have already asked. But how long did that restoration take? Great video!
Thank you. It took about 2 or 3 weeks.
Great channel...i guess i missed what kind of lathe this is. I was nervous about the blue but once i saw the finish i don't think it could have been any other color.
if that was me I would have many clean and restored pieces at the end... I can't imagina what a pain it is to put this thing back together 🙊
The result was worth it, but yes, putting together was a bit of a pain, that's why my milling machine still stays untouched :0)
Hey I like what you do keep doing what you do it’s rarely that a woman wants to do anything as of what you do no offense but it’s great that you are
Interesting u tubes. you seem to have a wide range of skills. do you have an engineering degree or something?

also, what is that old lathe?
Well done, how do you stay so clean, I would end up as dirty as the lathe, lol?
WOW!! Like new! Where was this lathe build?

Thank you. Sure, I know about Scotch Brite ;0)
Great job with the restoration! What was the most difficult part of the lathe restoration project?
Thank you ;0) The most difficult in those restoration was the amount of time spent on it. That's why my milling machine is still scratched :0)
😎👍
👍
Nice job on the lathe. Has your grandfather seen it? What does he think of the color?
Does he come see what you are working on?
God bless you and your family!
Thank you! Yes, he has seen it.
Your going to make millions of dollars from youtube views.
what kind of solvent are you using?
👍😁
You should build yourself a wash tank for electrolysis, make your restoration projects a bit quicker. For small pieces, a car battery charger provide sufficient charge to strip rust from pieces.
Yes, it's a good idea! But now I'm working on my CNC machine, so maybe later ;0)
👌😉 !
The worst part would be remembering how to put it all back together. I'd probably have a spare bolt or two
☺😉
I’m curious what country is this From?

men need to know women are just as capable
You still OK over there? Kinda quiet here ;-)
Yes, I'm OK, just started a huge project, that takes me a lot of time) The video will be ready soon ;0)
I own a German Burchhart lathe from the 1950's. I'm looking for the operations manual. Can someone help me? I live in Brazil.
It can possible be the German company called 'Burkhardt-Weber' today. They are cooperating or owned by the Brazilian company Romi S.A . Maybe you can start your search there, and/or directly with the German company. Sorry, I am not familiar with those machines
@@Rimrock300 thank you.

This is cholecester
Now lets turn something on your lathe...
You should watch my video about making grinder: ua-cam.com/video/-6XyPv7apAU/v-deo.html
Thank you for not painting it pink
Its just cleaning and painting...but very good for a girl
that was just what was needed for this machine, for now. If it's not broken, do not fix it)
@@Rimrock300 factory machine at this age is never without problems. I have some od them
