Music video by Bee Gees performing Angela. (C) 1987 Barry Gibb, The Estate of Robin Gibb and Yvonne Gibb under exclusive license to Capitol Music Group
vevo.ly/Nh7JGG
The Beach Boys weren't as versatile as the Bee Gees! The Brothers Gibb could sing and play Rock, R&B, Folk, Country, and Gospel. In the Spring of 1978, the Bee Gees had 5 songs in the top 10. They are 3rd on the Billboard Hot 100. Barry Gibb is the second most successful songwriter in music history. The Beach Boys weren't as strong vocalists as the Bee Gees. The Brothers had five decades of musical success. Underrated at that.
Duke, you say it like it is. I dig it. You are not just giving your opinion but stating the facts.
Barry's also the second most successful songwriter in music history, after George Martin.
Bee gees were so underrated. One of the best groups ever .
👍👍❤❤❤
How can the Bee Gees be so great and so underrated at the same time?
Being the 2nd most successful songwriter's in music history, it's beyond me? The disco backlash, even though they weren't a disco group because of Saturday Night Fever, they couldn't shake that label in America. They said they were R&B and I believe them over people's uneducated opinions.
I never saw them as underrated - but I see this band as legendary-status in the wide world of contemporary music, which is an umbrella genre that covers many sub-gees like synth pop, easy listening, and even progressive rock. Others too. So, I guess, yes they are underrated. They are legends.
yes so very very unfair cause they all felt it and it tore them up on the inside. cause they are human and their music was so honest and so pure to them. ain't have time for all that foolishness they had to put up with the evil forces throw their way with a subject matter they as a group had nothing to do with BUT were made to pay the price for.
Incredible, I knew this band only in disco style, but this track is like fresh air, it sounds like Bryan Ferry
Note the gorgeous woman in this video (from 1987) and how far from a fake Kardashian she looks. No fake lashes, no tatooed-on brows, no filler in her lips, cheeks or body; just pure beauty. When did we go so wrong??
She definitely is beautiful
Barry said they wrote songs that they liked or loved and hoped everybody else would love them also.
These guys blow the Beatles away.
wrong. I love the Bee Gees, but lets not get carried away
@@stuckinfreeport1 I'm not getting carried away! The Beatles couldn't hold a candle to the brothers' vocals & harmonies & appealed to mostly Caucasians, whereas the Bee Gees crossed racial lines, and they were just as good of songwriters, maybe you shouldn't get carried away about a fly-by-night group that just sold a lot of records!
Best Band in the world for all time
I'm with you all the way!! Totally agree!
I'm with you 👍👍👍👍👍👍 all the way ❤️❤️❤️💕💕💕💯💯
I'm also with you
100% agreeable!! Best Band of all time!!
True !
I guess every woman would want to be Angela! To have such a song dedicated to her by the greatest band of all time!
As a woman named Angela, I agree
Same from this Angela ❤
Beautiful name, you take the last A away and you have Angel.
My friend Angella just passed away this Monday. I once told her that whenever I saw her I would sing this song to her. She pretended to be angry and said that there are two "l" in her name, not one. I really feel like I'm empty inside now, but I know that I have to be alive for the two of us. Every time I hear this beautiful song I will think of her.
My name is Angela also
I'm so sorry for your loss 😢
I wonder why I haven't heard this song on the radio , it's a shame
I came across this song by accident while following a UA-cam thread which exhibited a quick 20-30 minute glimpse of their hits spanning 50+ years of recording together. I am a semi-pro musician and followed pop artists like these guys since the 60's. Where was this song in the 90's???? What a beautiful groove that escaped the world's notice!!! How did I miss it? Almost missed their 1993 hit, "Paying the Price of Love"; which I caught on an old Saturday night radio station dance mix in Detroit while recording off the air. These guys just seemed to get nearer to perfection when they reached their 40's and 50's!!!! Who would ever thought that their tenor voices would be so popular?? Great song-writing by the Gibb brothers!! Miss you guys!
Paying the Price of Love......Love that song!!!! (Amongst all the rest.of them). This "Angela" Never heard of.it either. I really don't understand. Why a good portion of their songs were ignored......Living Eyes. is another one of my favorites
Their 80's and 90's songs are some of the best never heard songs out there!
Just to let everyone know... my name is Angela. ♡♡♡
You're one lucky lady!!
Are those angels I hear??? Unreal!!! How did this not become a no.1???
In the US, the answer to that question would be simple: because the Bee Gees did it. Until they released "Still Waters," they were on a musical pay-no-mind list, and they never got completely off of it.
Supposedly they had thought about doing the same trick they did with "New York Mining DIsaster 1941" and "Jive Talkin'": send it to radio stations with a blank white label and just having DJ's play it and tell people who did it only after it caught on.
Warner Bros. nipped that one in the bud almost immediately; it was the very beginning of the "When You Play It, Say It" movement, of whom they were one of the more prominent advocates.
Besides, it wouldn't have worked again, at least not with "Angela"; the minute Barry unleashed the falsetto, it would have been over...
Their voices are so beautiful on this song. Perfect blending of voices . Beautiful
Here in 2022.very beautiful voices
Best group ever this band of brothers.
in memory of my lovely cousin Angela passed away 02 10 2020
Best songwriters and producers and musicians of all time!

"A spotlight on an empty stage" profound!
There will never be another Group like the Bee Gees.. I am still listening after almost 50 years... Can't wait for the next Generation of Bee Gees ....
I think it's exciting to see the younger generations discovering the Bee Gees too, and seeing that despite music they know being so different these days, they genuinely come to love the Bee Gees just like everyone before them. :)
Remember one woman your name is angeles
next genaration is far behind...none of them have a touch of tje beegees
Same like you me also
@@shakilahmad8246 I listen to them when I am having a bad day and need a smile...
I had no idea they sang a song called my name *Angela, so beautiful ❤
Barry's strong voice and his falsetto at the end are just killing amazing. Lovely. This is 1987 from the album ESP
My Bee Gees are the best, there is no other group or other band like my CHILDREN OF THE WORLD( BEE GEES)
Dear god. I'd never heard this before. It's beautiful.
R.I.P. Angela Leilani Chock 1971 - 2022 This song reminds me of you, my sweet Leilani.
They were THE BEST! Beat out the Beatles with with their creative lyrics! And Barry’s falsetto in this song is seriously insanely off the charts. I love Adam Levine, but come on - Andy’s, and Robin’s falsetto were sooo off the chart! And we still have Barry who I’m not sure but had highest range. Anyone reading -- just listen to one song.
Why have I never heard this song? I thought I had every single song they’ve ever recorded. Thanks for uploading this one! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🇨🇦
Say my name. Love 💘 the Bee Gees
I haven't heard this song before...it's beautifully calm. Love the Bee Gees as always.
Best song from 'ESP' 😊
One of my favorites (it doesn't hurt that my name is Angela. 😁).
Mine too ❤️
I was about to comment, 'Lucky if your name is Angela', to have Barry singing to you! 🤭
My name too!
@@thepixie8505 me too!!!
Yes
Nobody can sing or make music like The Gibb Brothers !
I second that:)
Its true
Spud Johnsonn,
You are so so so right, they were, and are the best, this sound is awesome and unique, nobody can top them 👍👍👏👏
Spud Johnsonn The Beach Boys come close.
@@barbarawebb7185 I guess but I prefer the Bee Gees
Barry always sings with alot of emotion.
barry maurice robin and andy...my all time favt from my childhood till my last breath
I heard this great álbum in New York. Long Island. For Firth time...my tears go crazy..couse.all brothers die...😪
OMG!!! OMG!!! Absolute vocal perfection!! Their blended harmonies just dissolve me into a puddle! TOO MUCH!!!
Barry is absolute perfection 🥰 I wish my name was Angela! lol.
The harmonies are on point! Their music will live on forever 💞💞💞
It s a so great shame, that we already lost three of the for brothers 😢😭😭
Warner Bros. really should have pushed them more. There were so many obvious hits they could have had off their WB albums that they just ignored, like this one. Those were the best albums in their career, and they should have gotten more respect.
Are those angels I hear??!! Soaring vocals and awesome, indescribable harmonies, unreal perfection!!
Shit, I haven't heard this in years. This was in the E.S.P. album, I think. What an absolutely beautiful song. "I'm empty inside, I'm empty inside....." The chord changes, wow.
Nobody will able to sing like those guys! And this song is about missing a true love which we will rarely can find in our times...
I thought it was about one of them missing and talking to a flame they left in one of the cities on tour. Honestly!! I can hear that!
Kalman Borbely You are soo right!
I have always loved this song....for obvious reasons. 😉 Still my favorite song with my name in it. 🥰🥰🥰
SO lucky! :)
Same 🥰

LOVE YOU ROBIN 😘😘😘😘😘😘❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Favoloso il brano ...e , loro , sempre di più. Quanto li amo ❤ loro ,e la loro voce.❤
The falsetto ad libs by Barry at the ending part of this melancholic, emotional song appears to represent a progressing outburst of painful but hopeful "crying"!
Such beauty!
Never thought of that, but so true!!!
Good insight!! Very true.
I love the tremble of Barry’s voice!

Barry e um gênio 😊
🖤🥀One of the most beautiful song's I've ever heard from The Brothers Bee Gees! Dayamm sounds too good! I love this song and these Guy's since the 60's on up my sister's use to play their song's so did my parents and I've met anyone who didn't love The Brothers Bee Gees. Seen them in Atlanta Ga in Concert 1975 they were kicking butt on stage but gentlemen all the way. I love all of their song's 🥀🖤☝️
From the 1987 album ESP, which I have owned for 30 years now and have loved this tune for that long.
This song is beautiful. I had never heard it before now.
@@kittensanddaisies5615 unfortunately for Bee Gees fans, there was not a lot of resources to get this album sold. The only song that made any move was You Win Again, which as a single hit song was so popular, the Bee Gees re-released it on the next album, One. To me, the title track ESP is fantastic.
One word: MAGIC!
Pure, magic.
A slowburn classic. Masterfully written, produced, arranged and performed. A very affecting, moving vocal performance by Barry Gibb. His falsetto at the end just slays me.
True...

No one could said it better!
this song still gives me goosebumps and has been for many years. My memories live with the BeeGees. Without their music I would have a hole in my soul. That's magic 🤗👍👍🤗🙋♀️
It never stops to amaze me how much they changed in 20 years. Plus the music, fashion, hairstyles everything was in a constant change from 1967-1987. And no internet back then. I look at the world today and compare it with what was going on 20 years ago, and not much has changed. Especially music, it hasn't evolved much, only to the worse, in the last 20 years.
Beautiful song, I've never heard this before. Barry, Robin and Mo had such amazing voices and perfect harmony. Bee Gees always. 💗💗💗
Wow! They are amazing and Barry knocked it out of the park on this one!
one of the best songs ever made
Love you Robin Gibb 🇧🇷🇧🇷
Oh my robin looks so amazing here
I love sir Barry Gibb
Never ever will anyone match these amazing brothers. Love every thing about them. Xxxxxxxxxx
The Bee Gees will always have a special place in my little music library. The ESP album is special and this song is one brilliant one
I have always loved the Bee Gees and was thrilled to find this gem, especially since I am an Angela! Love it!
they all knew how to sing from the heart, soul, mind, and their gut. Robin said he sung always from his heart. something that makes all of their songs sound so good and perfect to us
"...Every single word you hear...is coming from...this heart of mine..." Robin/'I Can't See Nobody' 1974
This is from the E.S.P. LP, 1987.
What a relaxing lovely song with perfect voices and three elegant gentlemen!

Still one of my favorites song from their Album "ESP" back 1987, Even after 32 years still sound fresh like it was released yesterday..............
Overnight is another beautiful & underrated gem from ESP too, beautiful sing by Maurice Gibb.
You Win Again too without words, and the title track.

Great song 👌👌👌👌
.
It still touches me after so many years. One of my favorite songs ❤👍👏🙋♀️
this makes moi heartache even more...I'm empty inside, I'm empty inside...and they seem to know it :(
One of the most heartbreaking, passionate lyrics..."And through it all, one fire in the rain keep burning on, keeps burning on. I can't stop my heart. It's beating for you, reaching for you, but you are gone. I'm empty inside, I'm empty inside...and where are you?" *sigh*
It's really beautiful! Sad, but beautiful!
"And voices in the night don't help."
An incredibly powerful and moving song all around. If you like heartbreaking, check out the video for barry gibb's stay alone. It contains the lyrics "i fell to my knees and the world became the last place i should be". About a love leaving.
What a depth.........your throat is vocal diamond Barry gibb..........I love Beegees....😪😪😪😪❤❤❤❤❤
