  • Reliable Robotics was founded in 2017 with the mission to make air transport safer, more accessible, and more affordable for everyone.
In June 2020, nine months after the company made history with the first unmanned flight of a Cessna 172 Skyhawk, Reliable Robotics demonstrated automated landing of a larger aircraft, the Cessna 208 Cargomaster, on the third day of flight testing. This milestone highlights their versatile approach to autonomy, and that their system can be ported to other aircraft types.
The company’s Remotely Operated Aircraft System can unlock access to the more than 5,000 public airports across the United States without the need for additional ground infrastructure. Expanded routes for cargo deliveries, and eventually passenger operations, can better serve communities everywhere, particularly remote locations.
Reliable Robotics has designed, developed, simulated, integrated and demonstrated technologies that enable safe, remotely piloted cargo and passenger aircraft to coexist with others in the National Airspace System.

does that system work also in IFR conditions? and if so what kind of sensors are used ? LIDAR, IR cameras ?

you silently, relentlessly, did it. A lot of "innovators" should be inspired ;)

How long will it take for us to see unmanned aerial vehicles in the sky?

"We've done something no one else has done before and we did it in record time." How could it be "record time" if no one has ever done it before?

I’m a pilot and as much as the idea of planes flying on their own makes me feel
    Iffy…
This doesn’t make me feel threatened about my career.
I think this will open more flight opportunities for future aircraft and future uses to smaller airports.
There will be room for piloted and remotely controlled aircraft in the future.

@@loizospapaloizou9494 Yeah, I’ve spoken to people who work on autonomous systems for airliners. They don’t expect them to fly without a pilot
“For a long time if ever” those were their words.
It’s one thing to have a small pilotless aircraft fly within 500 miles with 1-9 people onboard
It’s different when you have a large airliner with dozens of people, a crew, thousands of dollars of cargo, operating for a major airline and that is capable of flattening a neighborhood if something goes wrong.

I will NEVER fly in a drone. Period.
