This is something truly special: as the series progresses, the number of views decreases but on the other hand, you know that those who persevere are the selected few who really are into watercolor and not just superficially "inspirational" entertainment, dressed up as tutorials. Infinite thanks to Mr. Pyle for not minding the numbers and serving top quality educational content to those who are interested enough to sit through several hours of watching a master paint.
It's a little too long winded for a UA-cam series. 3 videos would have been a better layout in my opinion. His UA-cam is amazing. His Patreon is what let's him down. You can pay for months and receive nothing from the course.
@@GailBurfoot save your money. He's posted 6 videos since June!! Imagine paying £12 a month for 3 videos. Some are only 30 minutes. Much better ones that post weekly. And are also fantastic teachers.
Absolutely love this video series. These have answered many of my questions about how to put everything together while maintaining the right edge quality, a tricky business in watercolor. Very grateful to you Mr. Pyle for generously sharing your knowledge!
Another brilliant video in this excellent series. The way you dealt with that overlap made me say "aha!" out loud! And I was horrified when you started glazing over that perfectly rendered riverbank, only to immediately relax, as it came out so good.
Malcolm Gladwell wasn't far off when he said you need 10,000 hours for mastery. We need the techniques so articulately displayed by you and then we need to put in the work. Thanks so much, Ollie, for this series!
I never realised how much planing and thinking that goes on when you paint a picture I am really loving how you explain so much Thankyou for sharing your talent
Thanks. Much of it feels automatic to me, in the normal course of painting, so it has been quite interesting from my perspective to take a step back and attempt to articulate the thought process.
I am so happy to have discovered you. I live in Marin county California and the landscape is beautiful here. I have wanted to paint it forever. You have taught me how to appreciate it and the skills to render it with my watercolors. And you have a great British sense of humor which I miss dearly being a Brit living in America. Thank you so much Mr Oliver Pyle 😊
This is a really instructive series, and great seeing your step by step approach. Also refreshing to hear someone being honest and saying watercolour is not easy and needs much practise! It's taken several months with hours of practising for me to just get to a point where colour mixing is instinctive, and I've not really produced any worthwhile picture yet!
Thank you. It is difficult, but anything worth practising usually is. It's not a great selling point for most that need to sell online lessons and workshops, and that's why you see so many advertised with comments like 'paint like a pro in 3 months' or 'achieve success 10 times quicker with this secret.' None of it is true, and it is why I receive so much communication from those who are frustrated with their lack of progress when in fact they are doing well.
Muchas gracias por las espléndida forma de transmitir las explicaciones y el sistema de doblaje y traducción.Desde Granada. España 🇪🇦un fuerte abrazo!!
Lovely. I do like your paintings style very much & I need much practice, hope one day to reach a fraction of the colour you get, on my paper too. Thanks.
Yet another wonderful, instructive video - thank you so much ! If I might make a suggestion (I don’t even know if this would be possible), I would’ve found it very helpful in this video to have the reference photo zoomed in to the boat area where you were painting today as I found it difficult to discern a lot of the detail in the photo to which you were referring. My eyesight is not too bad and I am watching on a standard size iPad and I had the video playing on the full screen, so I had maximised my ability to enlarge it. Usually, I am absolutely fine following along with a reference photo just in the corner, but for the detail sections in shadow it was just a bit difficult…or maybe my eyesight isn’t as good as I think it is and everyone else could see every detail in the photo perfectly adequately!🤣🤣🤣 Anyway, it was just a thought. Thank you once again for your excellent instruction 😊
Yes, I agree, the reference photo would be better zoomed in on the area that is been worked on, if that is possible. Otherwise another brilliant video. Thank you for Sharing. Can't wait for the next one.
This is a great series. Thanks so much Oliver. One suggestion about all the videos- the audio is quite soft compared to the ads so when my TV volume was adjusted so I can hear your commentary, the volume went through the roof when the ads came on. Is it possible you could turn up your video volume? If you watch your videos on UA-cam, you would know what I mean, thank you so much!
Hi Oliver. This is amazing stuff and I am champing at the bit to try it for myself. Can you say when the final video, Part 7, will be posted, please? Many thanks.
Oh No, Oliver comes in German now. Strangely enough, I cannot change the video language setting on my android tablet. On my mobile it works. So, I have to watch you on the small Screen. Love your wonderful English so much. Maybe, someone has a hint here. Already searched and googled the issue without success. 😢
I'm loving this series, leaning so much, looking forward to each new episode. I was surprised to see that you painted the reflections of the riverbank with horizontal strokes. Since the reeds are vertical elements, I'd think their reflections would be expressed with vertical strokes, so I'd like your thoughts on your decision since I'm probably missing something and you explain so well. (I'm guessing it was so you could use the reflections to connect the left back with the right bank and its boats?)
In case Oliver doesn't reply... if you zoom in you can see they are Rosemary & Co sables. I have some of their cheaper sable synthetic mix brushes and they are excellent quality brushes.😂
@adrianla-garde7733 Thankyou for replying. I tried to zoom in but it would seem my poor WiFi quality makes it too blurry. I appreciate you taking the time to respond.
Mais pourquoi ce titre mal traduit en français alors que je sais lire/écouter et parler l'anglais et que je n'ai rien demandé ??? Washes is not 'lavages" mais LAVIS (mot technique).
Please, how can I disable this horrible German audio translation?????? This is so bad!!! Absolutely! In fact one of the best lessons you gave was early this year was the one about doodling ... it was a game changer for me!
Oliver, this series of your tutorials and I’ve been enjoying them so much, and learning a lot! Will there be #7?
Merry Christmas!

Amazing series. So much information for the painting journey. Very inspiring Ollie, but quite exhausting to watch!
Good evening from sunny Yorkshire, England😂 you've caught me painting Christmas cards tonight.
Yes!!! I successfully stayed awake to tune in live 😊
