Great to hear the live performance was fun! I am curious how you approach transitions in a one-box situation. Especially with energy/intense sequences you don't want them to be to abrupt but you don't want to loose tension.

Yeah that’s a good question. I tend to use the wet of fx to deal with transitions, move from say a main sequence into the wet fx of a future one, and then work from there. Also using eq on the mixer to use bass from one track and higher frequencies of another. It can be tricky and trial and error tho i find, to get something that feels good but not to obviously faded across.

If you like that delay, try the Boss PS-2, or PS-3. They use the same delay line as the DD-3, and DD-5 respectively. They also do pitch shifting effects that go extremely well for synths.

How does the sound compare with the new Roland mini? To my ears this sounds great. The Denison’s the new version don’t sound like this.

I got the boutique and it does the job however it doesn’t sound as warm and alive as the real thing. I guess it almost doesn’t matter in a live rig situation which I use it the most for but would love to have the real one for studio purposes 🤙🏼

I don’t have the new one but do have the Ju06a which sounds great although waay to small, the slider movement changes the sound for sure.
All the new mini Roland stuff seems fun tho. I think the SH01a is an earlier Roland effort which does sound a little different from what I’ve heard online and through mates.

Hate to say it but the Behringer ms-1 is an incredible clone with added extras it sounds better than the Boutique because it's a more faithful reproduction

I have the new S-1 and it's great! I know I'll never be able to afford a real sh-01 so for $200 I'll take a little portable fully fledged synth. I use it at work on slow days

Yeah I totally agree. I’ve not heard the Behringer in the flesh (plastic?) but what I’ve heard online has that rubbery sound often missing in the clones. That’s probably the one to get if wanting that synth and not spending a shit ton on second hand market. 👍
