Appreciate video content! Sorry for butting in, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you ever tried - Paneevelyn Swinging Clubsman (search on google)? It is a good one of a kind product for revealing an effortless golf swing technique minus the normal expense. Ive heard some great things about it and my work colleague at last got excellent results with it.
I know you guys get a lot of compliments. But I really feel every golfer should take the time to watch and absorb this lesson. Particularly for those of us who have pursued the " Holy Grail " of the one repeat one piece takeaway! The pursuit of this mantra may have helped the chronic disassociated arm and body sufferers. But for myself and many, pursuing this overconnected one speed for all body parts has been disastrous! This tutorial is so real and sensible it cannot be reputedly disputed. Thanks you have renewed my fluidity and much enjoyment. Cheers
For years I've been confused because of golf instructions that made no sense to me, for example increasing lag. I found you guys about a year ago and everything makes sense. Thank you both.
Man this totally answered a question of mine. Been working hard on takeaway, focusing on a slower smoother takeaway, but the transition was actually to fast. So randomly yesterday I sped up the takeaway and the transition slowed down. It was funny I was frustrated and just tried it and said to myself I bet this looks wrong. Watching the video actually showed it was pretty spot on. I had been focusing so much on smooth and slow, it was actually getting me out of rhythm. I couldn’t get recentered and still came over it a bit. Faster backswing equaled slower transition at the top 🤯 go figure 😂 Thanks fellas! Keep up the great work!
Guys, love the videos you put out. It really helps to actually see quantitatively what is happening in good players swings and in bad players swings as well. I notice on video in my swing that my hips have finished their turn before my arms get to the top. I am gathering that this is exactly what you guys are talking about.
@2:00 that is usually what I do:)... I move the club in. But luckily I’m still able to deliver the from inside. But I tend to have blocks and over draws. I’m a low hcp and able to play with it and have quite good rotation. But I’m really training to get club up in takeaway. And use my rotation to have straighter shots. But I need to get adjusted to having a lot of width in my backswing. I have troubles in downswing. Especially rotation.
Thanks a lot guys!! Even though weather is getting bit chilly I go out to range to practice what you gentlemen showed every time. I can't wait for the next Spring to show my friends what I have !!!! Keep up the good work.
I’ve suffered from the one piece takeaway for a long time…this alone has improved every aspect of my swing, from timing, to weight shift, to impact and balance…thanks!!
That first drill changes the club shaft position at the top for me 😳 and causes my hip to react as it should. I can't take too much more success, guys. I'm losing my butt in my OM league. 😂😂 Getting the momentum started in that first drill engages, if that's the right word, centrifugal force and inertia. An object with a given velocity and direction maintains that velocity and direction unless acted on by an external force. That explains why the club is in a great planed position at the top. I had forgotten about this drill. Thanks!!
So after watching this my swing thought has been "hit the ball with only your arms"...works great....swinging my arms only (just a feel) basically makes a full turn perfectly, my body reacts to it
Well I teach mostly beginners or people that have played for a short time but are not improving. Main trend I see is a severe lacking of any wrist hinge in takeaway.....everyone goes immediately under plane then steep hand path transition. Or they simply pick the club up with the arms then drop club on the ball. Either way creating no compression at impact. I do the drill you guys suggested about getting them the feeling of correct motion both in the arms/wrists/club by breaking it down to isolating each arm. So get the client to swing the club a few times with one arm at a time. Then get them to put both hands on and transfer the same feelings as they had independently but now combining it. That’s working well. People seem to assume that the starting grip - wrist positions shouldn’t move at all in the backswing. Also the modern client seems to expect increases in performance with very little practise time devoted. They want everything instantly. I must coach about 100+ people each week. All of which I encourage to subscribe to you lads 👍🏻😬🙏🏻🏌🏻
Definitely worth trying at the range. Unfortunately my swing thoughts have destroyed my game at this point of my 20year love of the game so hopefully these drills can ease the pressure.
as always awesome stuff guys, i am one of those slow motion back swingers, that ends up most of time not completing my back swing and ends up making a quick and out of tempo downswing, that leads to snap hooks with my driver.
@@AthleticMotionGolf thanks guys for the tip i can't tell you how long ive tried to fix rushing from the top, went to the range last night with your tip and you were right, just reversing the tempo on the back swing was an improvement. Shaun once football season is over with and i have some free time im coming see you i will be the 6'6 315 pound guy lol.
"Amateurs are slow in takeaway and quick in transition pros are the opposite" This is so interesting and make me think about my swing vs Cameron Young who almost has a cup of tea at the top of his backswing. Great video and channel guys
Looks a good drill, you had a fairly level shoulder turn,i,ve seen other teachers who say drop lead shoulder in backswing give me your thoughts on that as i was thinking of applying it,but is it for the senior golfer.S/J.
what a great concept. For me, I feel like I have to speed up my hands a ton to get everything to sync up at the top. I've been playing with this feeling and it has worked out great! Thanks AMG
Excellent video and drills! I would like to add a huge factor in making this swing more synchronized is to make sure you are using a heavy enough swing weight and/or overall club weight to feel the club head throughout the swing. This is especially true if you a physically stronger person. I added 20 yds. to my irons by switching to much heavier clubs because I am not afraid to lose control of the clubhead . When you speed up the arm club unit you don't have time to think about positions making the swing more athletic.
After 7 years of playing this amazing sport it appears my takeaway has been too slow. Today I speeded up my arm/club backswing, synced up backswing better and hey presto I have a brand new golf swing. Looking forward to taking to the course, thanks Gentlemen 👍
Greetings from Liverpool, UK. Thanks for all the videos you put out. Like many other people I watch way too many golf videos on UA-cam but I can safely say that you two consistently produce the best explanations for all of the many swing fault problems that we hackers suffer from. There is, however, one area that I would like to see you cover in more detail and that is the impact zone. What should the hands do? Should they release themselves automatically or do we need to give them a bit of help, without flipping of course?
looking at your first drill... would you say that the backswing is more "active shoulders / passive hips" (e.g. the shoulder rotation then rotates the torso which rotates the hips) and the downswing somewhat the opposite (active feet to hips to torso to shoulders to arms/hands) ...???
I get that it works if you start with the club in front and swing it back behind you. However, how do you then apply this to a real golf swing where you do not necessarily get to swing it from the front (I've never seen anyone do this in a real swing at least). How do you get momentum into the club early on from the start position being at the ball? Without the momentum, finding the natural arc is the difficult part.
The problem described at the start of this video possibly arise from being told that our swings should start " low and slow " - excellent video as always. One topic that I haven't heard you comment on is the importance of the " waggle " to get some momentum into our swings - any thoughts ?
"Athletic Motion", what kind of of gym routine (Cybex machines) can you recommend for the golf swing (muscle groups: chest, biceps, triceps, back, shoulders, and legs)? How did Shaun get his GUNS? Thank you
We'd recommend you check out Key Young at GolfXFit. He's a true fitness pro and would be able to help you out specifically with a good routine to follow.
Great insight gents…as usual. BUT, it does beg the question, why don’t we see players start their swing with the club out in front of them? I don’t think there is a rule that prevents you from starting your club wherever you want.
My backswing issue is “moving closer to the ball”. This leads to all kinds of issues in the downswing. Feeling cramped. And overly in to out club path. What is causing this?
I guess your drill begs the question…why can’t you start your swing on the course in front of the ball like the drill? Do the rule of golf require the club to stay behind the ball until impact?
The slight problem with this analysis is that if everything is rotating together, the clubhead is further away so it automatically moves faster (velocity = radius times rotational rate)
You guys are awesome. Love watching your UA-cam channel. But neither of you are basic physics students. Rate, speed and velocity are all pretty much the same term. Nice try on this one, however we did get the concept that you're talking about. Different segments of the swing, your shoulders, your arms, the club head move it different rotational velocities.
I hate the 1 piece take away so many instructors teach it makes me sway off the ball and hit a lot of fat irons. Then I watched Adam Scott in slow motion his club hands and arms move pretty far before his hips turn now I don’t even think about my hip turn it happens with the swing naturally now hitting better irons.
