Yes Duran was past his best here... but a podgy aging Duran was still incredibly tough, hard hitting and skillful. Just shows how good he must have been in his prime.
Duran was super durable and had a hell of a chin plus his awesome defense. That's how he lasted so long in the ring.
He had one of the most underrated defences in boxing.. It looked erratic but in actuality it was masterful... And yes that chin was Granite.. Even that sledgehammer blow from hears didn't put him to sleep.. He was trying to get up from that shot before his team dragged him up..
@@TBWSport yes I fought him a few years after this. His defense is very underrated
Yeah he was ultra tough, Hearns the only guy to stop him near his prime, great achievement by Hearns, no shame for Duran.
