To be fair, the other popular "alternate history Earth with huge focus on planes" setting people are familiar with had a catastrophic asteroid impact event, various atrocities waged with the countermeasures that were created to help mitigate said asteroid impact after it was realized they made excellent superweapons, and finally devolves into a megacorporation controlled hellscape itself.
@@Dunkopf We’re talking about this fan made alternate history world where jet engine technology never became advanced enough to replace propeller driven aircraft. The game, however is Flyout which is still in development as of now.
If there is a lot of piston cargo planes trying to shoot each other then maybe the missiles will be different too. The missile companies will see the demand and make something like gliding subsonic missiles with enhanced thermal seekers. Or maybe fast suicide drones with optical camera and "airplane recognition software"
They would be b-17 like aircraft where passengers have to defend their flight against air pirates trying to hijacker the plane or steal its components while in air similar to stealing a catalytic converter. There would be sections guns, flares, sam batteries and CIWS bristling all over the aircraft.
also, it feels like that illegally moving drugs between county's during a time that seems so tense where if you are caught or shoot down a passenger plane or transport or a military plane could result in a world ending nuclear war
Having trouble with civilians noticing Aim-9 rockets strapped to your Cessna? Simple! Mount them on top of the wings so they cant see them from the ground!
Put the wings and stabilizer up on struts. Take the engine out of the center, and put tandem engines on top of the wings. Re-shape the lower half of the fuselage for landing on the water. Remove the current shroud around the missile. Add four "air intakes". Two of them are actual intakes, two of them are disguised missile bays.
I love ALL of the worldbuilding in the prop-punk world, the whole thing is just so cool. The criminal gang stuff is always one of my favourite parts of worldbuilding and the prop-punk small military sized drug cartels are so cool. Everyone who has worked on this has done an amazing job.
Did you know that in Nazi occupied France the French criminal gangs would help smuggle soldiers, Jews and resistants out of France and into Spain to escape the Nazis! They also smuggled food and resources into France to sell to the French citizens at a better price, as everything from Germany was way too expensive for the French citizens, they would make a lot of money from this!
I wouldn't be surprised if a large cartel with a fleet of combat capable planes and vehicles to declare themselves an independent micro-nation with a military. It has already been established that companies can own countries in Prop-Punk so a very rich drug cartel could in theory own a country. This is assuming that they would already have a small military of guns, soldiers, planes, boats, cars, trucks and (maybe) armoured vehicles.
I wish more fictional stealth planes followed the F-117's design philosophy. 5th gen aircraft are cool and all but I feel like there's untapped cool factor potential in 4th gen stealth designs like the Nighthawk
This is the first video of your channel that I’m watching. Was absolutely gobsmacked to see that you’re a new UA-camr. You should be very proud of this video and yourself! Keep up the excellent job!
I would love to see a seaplane build next. I'm sure there are many reasons for a seaplane to be necessary in Prop-Punk. But can you do water landings in Flyout?
Love the build, just got some ideas, the "explosion" from the gun will blow the windows surrounding it so you could replace the middle glass with steel, and the way the gun is placed and the fact that your propeller is covering more there is a larger chance for the plane to damage it and basically shoot it self down. Love the creativity, keep it up! 👍
I love the idea of drug overlords with overpowered military aircraft launching guided munitions to anyone trying to rob the cargo aircraft. It seems like something that would work really well in flyout for whatever reason
Super cool, one small issue, that shockwave from the canons would undoubtedly shatter the internal windows. The first round fired will cause the pilot to get a face full of glass claymore.
So, proppunk universe is basically some weird mix of Ace Combat/Project Wingman, Porco Rosso, TaleSpin and... Breaking Bad. Great. P.S. Okay, now I'm interested in proppunk version of aeral pirates P.S.S. It's a heavily armed plane used by organized crime that is pretending to be just some guy with a Cessna 172 who uses it to travel a lot. I don't think advanced stealth features would be practical or necessary

What in the hell am i watching Ok now you have a contractual obligation to design the cargo aircraft and escorts you’re talking about as well, I’m invested
They would need to be stealth capable planes that are similar to ordinary private planes. They would need to have internal weapon bays. It would have twin cannons hidden inside the nose or wings. They would need to have advanced sensor packages and special transponder spoofing technology. They would also need to be built in such a way that crew can quickly exit and board other craft mid flight. It would be extremely dangerous and stupid. But we are talking about drug smuggling pirates here. This could even involve jet packs and wing suits.
You might be interested in Greg's Airplanes And Automobiles on youtube, he mostly covers ww2 era aviation and it seems like that was when the prop planes were absolutely maxed out. He covers NACA designs that would really help a lot if physics are accurately rendered here
Some drug Cartel is going to see thus and invade your house and force you to build a plane that has capability able to pull 36 g's just like the Cessna 172 sky hawks in infinite flight
Maybe as an upgrade or later retrofit, rather than retracting the whole fake central pillar, the barrels might be housed in a more narrow pillar that permanently conceals them. There are perhaps then two tiny circular caps or a singular pill-shaped cover, much like that used for the AIM9, which rotate aside on the interior of the housing, thus providing a clear line of fire with much less visual giveaway during combat operations. This might be more necessary as aerial or satellite observation becomes more common along drug routes, by either rivals or enemies of other sorts.
Hey! Great video. There were just a few things I wanted to point out. 1. The plane can only carry one aim-9 missile, so if you encounter multiple targets. you will have to use your gun. 2. Another thing I noticed was that the gun is placed right behind the propeller! Whenever you shoot the gun, it would physically hit the propeller, if it was in real life. But after all, this is just a game. But besides that, great video! I always love your different and unique airplane builds in flyout. I have been watching since you made your first flyout video. Cheers! Edit: Also, I didn't realize that they added cockpit/interior features into this game (the flight instruments) until now! This game has huge potential.
can you please make a video where you try to shoot down you're massive air ships? i want to see that so much, also, can you make a prop punk nuclear powered nuclear cruise missile that also drops nuclear bombs before it becomes a bomb itself
Instead of it being a small time drug lord, maybe it could be a smuggling transportation contractor, similar to how real legitimate businesses contract out some of their work.
A few video ideas: prop punc universe b-1 Lancer counterpart. 4 seat glider with self starting capabilities. Heavy lifting helicopter. Flying car. Just to name a few. Maybe also a Chanel wing plane like the one Tom Stanton built rc?
I think a better design would be a blended wing drone thats amphibious with stol capabilities and light ecm abilities. Maximise heavy carry capabilities, could incorporate stealthy features, ecm to cover any radar or drone jammers, can land in areas like swamps where its hard to patrol/ get to. Made cheep, with a piston engine, and lots of off the shelf/ easy to find or get components. If its capture no one gets caught with it and its not a huge loss.
I love it! This fits perfectly with an idea I've been cooking up earlier and I think it would fit well with the prop-punk world. I call it scrap-punk (if you suggest a better name, I will steal it shamelessly), basically the aviation laws and regulations in this world are really lax, making small aircraft (such as this one) really more comparable to cars in terms of commonness and upkeep costs. However, new aircraft themselves are quite expensive, possibly due to capitalist aircraft manufacturers trying to keep a monopoly and communist governments not wanting to waste resources that could be used for militaries on common people. This leads to people repairing and modifying old airplanes and even building them from scratch, basically doing everything to avoid buying new planes. Personal aircraft you'd see at small airfields would range from mostly normal planes that have had a bit too much time elapse since the last check-up, to ones that have had a dozen different owners, engines, landing gears and paint coats during their life without ever seeing a certified mechanic, to full on flying scrap heaps built out of corrugated steel, oil drums and car frames. Some people would also manage to somehow get their abominations registered, although a lot would be flying unregistered, breaking the already lax regulations. The corrupt governments, aviation administrations or whoever are supposed to be doing something about the wild west of semi(or full)-illegal frankenstein's aircraft, don't have enough resources or shits to give. Modern (or prop-punk tech level) aircraft obviously still exist, but due to their higher costs they are only used by militaries and big companies, kind of like in real life. Basically i want this style of aircraft to become a spin-off series on the channel
i think the next time you build something, you should attempt to make a flying u-haul truck essentially just a u-haul truck but with wings and wing mount propellers as the most hilarious cargo aircraft ever that would be pretty funny to see
