@13:52 I didn't change the 6.2 intake, it wasn't even that much of a hassle. All I did was put some lube on the inner of the 5.3 intake and with a flat screw driver slipped in the 5.3 intake into the 6.2 throttle body. No need to to waste more money when it isn't even a hassle. But good video.
@ Aaron The last thing you want to do is run the engine lean, I get it. I don’t think the 6.2 intake and throttle body would make that much of a difference. I think the oxygen sensors along with the MAF sensor would give the ECM enough info to pulse the injectors on a little longer. I mean its always looking at short term and long-term fuel trims so you think if the 6.2 intake/throttle body swap made it a little leaner, the ECM would adjust for that. Your thoughts.
You are correct the ecm will accommodate and adjust with just the l86 intake manifold l86 Tb and a 3.5 inch cold air intake it will adjust its self and no lean codes are thrown. I just did the swap this week and no lean codes no tune.. the map on the l83 and l84 are rich enough to accept the l86 swap
Nice video, very informative. Do you have any input on values for throttle bodies larger than the 95mm? Do you think a L86 manifold can be ported to fit a 103mm throttle body, or do you think anything more than a 95mm we are at the limits of the manifold?
If i swapped to the l86 and upgraded to the jet 76116 performance throttle body should i switch the air flo sensor to either the jet 69180 (which i think is for a 6.2) or jet 69189 (which should be for 5.3). Thx in advance, great video. Convinced me to do the swap, lol.
Can you comment on tube adjustments for a l83 using the l86 intake manifold? My truck is tuned by Blackbear and they offer free adjustments but is this something that can be done efficiently, remotely?
Did it LT2 L83 but belt didn't fit too small tuner had to get 1 FYI 😂🤙🏽 went with LT5 TB any tuners wanna help my guy out lil gurgley on the low but gets it after around 2000 rpm I do have a 2500 stall converter with a stage 2 BTR cam on bubbi the burban whale 🤙🏽🤙🏽🐳
Used your video on 16 Silverado for long tubes got everything done to factory specs. So I have Long tubes, E85, cai and tune which manifold would be better for my setup L86 or LT2?
I did this swap and have not had any tuning. I have noticed harder shift at times from 2nd into 3rd, mostly when getting on it. Is this because of these air volumes being to low now?
I’ve been hearing this and I’m about to do this same thing to my truck! But is ur truck running good? Only whe you get on it it shifts hard? That might be because of the amount of air that now is getting for sure no big deal bro
@@flowmagic5 I don’t think it has anything to do with the bigger intake now. I put my stock intake back on and it still does it. I’m debating putting it back on but if I do and decide to spend more money I’m getting a tune at the same time.
At the end of the video you say “And continue with any tuning you need to do” is there anything else that needs to be tuned with this swap or just the airflow parameter being increased? Thanks.
I’m about to do this swap on my truck. Did a DOD delete and stage 2 cam from Texas speed already with High flow cats and cat back exhaust. Will the stock intake manifold cover still go on the new l86 intake? I saw you didn’t put it on and I’ve assumed it won’t fit but I’m just curious. I haven’t read all the comments so this may have been asked already.
I have gm sierra 2015 6.L l83... Can anyone help me in which model of holley or fast intake manifold is compatible with my car.. With 95mm throttle body and afe mg momentum filter 3 1/2 diameter size.. Please help me someone
I did mine in less than 2hrs. 10mm deep well and a cpl extensions worked for me. Factory cover fits on the 6.2 as well. I didn’t even take mine off. Just slid everything out and back in. 454chuy ported l86 intake and throttle body. Make sure you unplug your battery
Man be careful torquing the intake manifold bolts my torque wrench only went down to 10ft lbs the bolts call for 8 ft lbs I figured it would be fine I ended up snapping one off at 10ft lbs had to get a die grinder in there and grind it flat drill it out and use an easy out to get it out
Any reason my l86 intake manifold would have a extra vacuum port on the drivers side on the back towards the firewall? I did the swap everything bolted up great and noticed the port was causing a lean fuel trim. I plugged it with a cap and everything runs fine now and no CEL or codes?
@@theborderboyz thanks for the reply! Do you have any lines going to this port? Or do you have it capped off…. My original l83 that I took off didn’t here the port and the throttle buddy opening was smaller then the one I have on now.
I also have the Volant CAI, it made such a difference, Im swapping for the 6.2 throttle body and intake manifold on Saturday for my 2016 Silverado. Just wondering 2 things. Does the intake manifold cover from the 5.3 manifold fit on the 6.2 manifold? If not...then where do I leave the wires that were removed from the back of the manifold cover. I appreciate your help.
I did this swap and started the truck to check for leaks it ran well but started to stumble and sputter until it stalled after warming up, The truck will start right back up. is this due to it not being tuned? or did i screw something up? also no cel or pending codes in the scan tool. any advice from anyone would be appreciated.

putting either the LT1 or LT2 intakes on a truck is NOT a performance improvement , it is a down grade . you make less torque and gain very little horsepower , considering trucks and suvs need torque to move their fat asses they need all the torque they can get . a huge improvement is custom tune , CAI , ported L86 intake with ZR1 throttle body
also ABSOLUTELY do not need to tune or relearn anything going from 5.3 to 6.2 t.b ...i did it , zero problems , now if your were to buy ICT billet adaptor and run a ZR1 throttle body then yes it would need to be done . youre forgetting these trucks tend to run a little "fat" on the air fuel ratios
I did this with throttle body headers and dyno tune made
major differences
I heard just a tune can wake the trucks up substantially vs no tune

Will I gain more hp on my 2012 5.3 if I put an intake manifold from a 6.0 or 6.2 of the same year range? If so how much? Is it a direct bolt on?
you listed the lt2 manifold as the lt1? or am i confused

Wow, very thorough, thanks for sharing!
Are you aware of any intake I can swap onto my Gen IV 5.3?
If you have added a edge CTS3 programmer, cold air intake and cat back exhaust, any advice on tuner changes needed to maximize this modification.
This with the throttle body from a ZR1 💪🏻
Great video. But all that hype and no test run or performance review??
Can I use the L83 intake on my Gen 3 LM7 engine?
Do you have a video on how to install the lt2 intake
Any work to the fueling side ? Since air was adjusted ?
What up Aaron... quick question???? What your opinion on oil catch cans...
So I could use my Camaros LT1 intake on my 2017 5.3? I still have manifold and TB from my 2018 Camaro SS.
Can anyone tell me if this is a "plug n play" swap or will my ECM need tuning afterwards?

How is it running with the stage 2?
So do I need to buy a 6.2 cold air intake
Aron, I don't have a cam but my exhaust is modified headers, no cats with maxiflo. Will the Lt2 help me or Lt1 be more practical?
Do you have to tap the back of the manifold for the brake booster if going in a 2014 chevy truck

Warranty is voided if a modification you installed causes an issue or failure. Also you change anything in the factory tuning as well
Considering doing this to my truck, I have a Volant CAI and will be moving to a 93 Diablo tune. Will I need to change the air values still?
