China’s Military isn’t designed for full open war with the US, it is simply designed to deny us the capability to operate against them and any move against bordering nations, like it or not they can very accomplish most goals they set because the US military has spent the last 20 years focusing on counter insurgency and has continued to either focus on stupidly expensive weapon systems or maintaining legacy weapon systems
This is like saying the High Seas Fleet is no match for the Grand Fleet. That's not the point. It doesn't have to be able to face the US in all out war, nor can it afford to. It only has to be as strong as the US can deliver in the Pacific; it gets the benefit of concentrating its entire force in the Pacific and Asia. The US can win, but at what cost? It isn't worth the US confronting them at that point.
