So, technically, everyone could choose their lane in the final. That might be fun for the top qualifier to decide where they want to swim, and the rest decide in descending order.
I love your commentary! Keep it up. I have never seen lane switches at this level before. I am pretty sure during my swimming days (1980‘s/90‘s) it would have been a ground for a DQ. I was in Perth 91 and Athens 91 behind the blocks
Let them swim in whatever lane they want whenever they want. Dont you think itd be more FUN that way??? And i think thats really whats important in swimming right now is maximizing FUN! Let whoever wants to swim swim wherever they want to swim! Love your laissez faire approach to swimming and rules, subbed!
Is it just me or are is lane 1 on the swimmers 'left' (except for backstroke and 50's) and lane 8 on the 'right'? When I swam in the 70's and 80's the lanes went 1 to 8 ... from Right to Left...when did they change this?
There is no excuse for a swimmer to be in the wrong lane. If I can see the lane number on the collection boxes, then they should also see that number. I bet those wrong lane swimmers will never make that mistake again. Kyle, I beginning to like your sarcasm and off the wall remarks, especially regarding rules and officiating. I've officiated USA age group ABC swim meets for 15 years and have seen it all. Fortunately, at low level age group meets, the timers behind each lane make sure the swimmer is in the correct lane (at least in the Pacific LSC). And young kids do sometimes end up at the wrong lane. To be fair to many of the swimmers new to Worlds, they don't speak the language and are nervous. Kind of like fish out of water (haha).
By the way, I've competed in masters meets in Brazil and not knowing Portuguese well and following FINA (I know it's World Aquatics now) not US Masters rules, it gets hairy.
I dont think that rule you mentioned applies to people that swim in the wrong lane. It is supposed to prevent people from going through the lane lines and messing with another swimmers race
That moustache is a conspiracy, bro 💜 You gotta grow the full beard out and then trim down to the moustache once you have the fullness and length. My buddy is a light haired dude and made the same mistake.
It can honestly be beneficial to switch lanes, for example, I breath left in my freestyle so I would want to be in lane no. 5+ so I could see everyone on the way home. And the best part is, afterwards, all they will do is swap the times. So you could benefit from stealing a lane, while also putting another swimmer at a possible disadvantage, assuming they also breath left, so they won’t be looking at top seed and to the right during the last 50, and as such slowing them down
I obliviously walked into men’s bathroom as a woman a couple of times because the bathroom gender configuration was switched. That’s what this felt like
China are in top of medal table, America can’t change the table, who had the most medals because China had the most gold and medals. If you remember America changed the table in Beijing. 😂😂😂😂😂
I will do one push-up every time this comment gets a like, also nice vid!
Video or it didn’t happen
311 push ups seems tough don’t u think😭
thumbs down, you're welcome buddy

Southwest Airlines could be the sponsor.

Even Phelps wouldn't have visualised this.
HEAT SHEET CRUISE X FILM CRUISE X CONSPIRACY THEORY CRUISE, greatest cruise bindle of all time

That's 100% why they did that. I've seen way more devious things than that.

Written on the arm with a sharpie.
"Eat my bubbles ... " written on the back.
If the officials stood behind the chairs, they could correct the swimmers before the swim.

Thanks for those lane switch videos! Hard to believe this seems to happen frequently at this level!
Maybe it's a strategy to throw off the swimmer whose lane you're taking.
conspiracy theory cruise is wild
This is gold- I wish I could do this kind of commentary!
Pools are set up one to eight with one being closest to the starter. Some pools are opposite and hella annoying

A China-hater smearing Chese swimmers at every opportunity! Must be hard to stomach China taking over the medal table.
Peak sockwell content this fam
this happend a lot, for some reason the numbering of the lanes is the other way around then a regulair competion pool is laid out.
That moustache is a conspiracy, bro 💜 You gotta grow the full beard out and then trim down to the moustache once you have the fullness and length. My buddy is a light haired dude and made the same mistake.
What if two swimmers change lanes on purpose, one like the outside lane or whatever reason, would that be allowed ?

"Confrontation" is a bit charged. It was literally, "Hey, you're in my lane."
World Aquatics rule 16.1.9 says that lane 0 (or 1) starting on the right is merely a suggestion.
Hunter Armstrong finding the right lane!
Next time, I predict for your next video Taylor Swift will show up with whatever her boyfriend’s name is, and endorse Biden.
I’m getting sea sick with all these cruises going on, in a good way
It can be confusing for the athletes who tried to mentally just focus on the swimming, they may need a person who lead them to the lane they should be
I obliviously walked into men’s bathroom as a woman a couple of times because the bathroom gender configuration was switched. That’s what this felt like
Love your channel.
Simple. Fire the officials for not directing swimmers to correct lanes. Where are they?
How was Armstrong not disqualified for swimming in the wrong lane?
Liking the content a lot
Appreciate you 🙏
Doesn't surprise me. AI is not that advanced yet, it can't figure out lanes
Well played, Steve. Well played.

They ‘changed the table’ because of their swimsuit
It is official’s problem. I was US swimming official and I know the rule.
hot take- kyle is the goat of swimming youtube (better than cody miller)
He’s 2nd to cody miller
If Kyle brings back the swimming vlogs I’ll take Kyle
*had just swum
Funny they both tied dead last though they had best quantifying time
They tied for 4th in their heat, and 7th in total (out of 16 swimmers).
