Baseline Dyno, Draggy, Vdyno, and NEW WHEELS for the Civic Type R

With all the parts ready to be installed on the Civic Type R, we needed to get some baseline numbers to keep track of our gains while modding and tuning the FK8. Using a Draggy and our Cobb AP to log pulls, we matched our V Dyno to the actual Dyno graph from English Racing, and now we are ready to start getting serious with the upgrades.

Virtual dyno is very accurate. You can all the engine parameters and they will line up. For example if youre seeing less power, check feedback knock or ignition timing for the run. Any dips will correspond to power lost. Wind, road, all that crap has very little effect. Intake temps and fuel being good quality 93 octane will affect your run the most. Also, I definitely recommend running in 3rd gear from 3000 rpms or so

10lbs of rotational mass is slit when it comes to putting more of your motors power to the ground. I think what your biggest contributor to this extra loss of traction is the amount of power gained to the ground from the drivetrain weight loss. Those wheels are spinning up much faster

Not a Civic fan but love the technical jargon. Where does the data log for Virtual Dyno come from? COBB AP or Dragy?

Its an all season. Get a stickier tire and youll be fine. I run firestone indy 500 in 265 35 18 and very little spinny
