The black Foden has to be one of the coolest vehicles in the UK. It makes me smile every time it appears on screen. I'd love to see it at a show some day.
I like to imagine a couple of hundred Fodens lined up against the massed soviet forces and the Russian Marshall saying ‘Fodens? Just Fodens? Maybe we’ll try Afghanistan instead hey?’
Even though I am your NATO partner I’ve never laid eyes on an L109, my battalion was M109-A4 howitzers and when someone twisted off a spark plug or dropped a screw in the intake, the whole power pack slid out on rails once the front armor was off. Great video!
"These are great jump packs, ebay 190 quid" Fair enough.....but did anyone else notice the batteries 90% underwater with only the terminals showing? Love it!😂😂😂😂😂😂
Those packs were an absolute pain to work on. Even when out of the vehicle there is no room to get to anything. All the pipe fittings were lockwired so if you forgot about one whilst building the pack, lockwiring it later would be like wallpapering your hallway through the letterbox!
I used to get a lift to school on top of an Abbot or sometimes a Stolly, my Dad was Royal Artillery BAOR 1972 in Munsterlager, West Germany, you can never forget that engine sound as the Abbots convoyed down the Strasse... Brilliant channel this one watched every video...ATB Chris.
Morning from Gonubie South Africa, Howzit Guys, so lekker to see young down to earth guys enjoying what they do and entertaining old geezers like me. Love it. Cheers from Grampa Bears Workshop
Rather than using a torch with flames to loosen things, I'd highly recommend buying an induction heating tool, especially for what you do. They take seconds to heat things up to cherry red with no fire risk. Well worth it and far easier to use, especially in confined spaces.
I love it when the FODEN, ie BLACK BEAUTY makes an appearance it's one hell of a truck. I reckon joe you've made Jack's year getting him that disco, a true and honest friendship you two have it's great 👍 👌
Sitting back with a cup of coffee watching you lot getting crap fixed despite frozen fingers and ridiculous contortions really does make my mornings. Now off to walk t'dawg. Thanks guys.
Hey guy's I've been watching all your UA-cam videos for some time now... Really loving what your doing. Getting these big boy's toy's up and running after so many years of neglect.. for a group of young mates who love to jump right into a project your all a bunch of stars. I would love to get the chance to get my hands on the Forden. Which is looking awesome with the stealth paint job. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Well, there's another one creeping towards the drive to do a runner! 😀 It's ages since you've had a full crew. Adam Best must have driven Fodens a lot as he's pretty much inch perfect, to the nearest foot, and Seb getting down and dirty rolling on the floor. - Don't worry Seb, the overalls will wash. Jack. - Still smiling in the front of the Disco! Have you sent your details off, so you'll be officially responsible for one of British Leyland's finest ? 🤔😃👍🇬🇧 Finally, Joe, I trust you'll be having a cider, or maybe a few, in an effort to get blood flowing round your feet again, well done, a good day. 👍🇬🇧🏁
Out of all the vehicles you have got the Abbott would be the one one I would choose if it was for sale and I could afford it . Being ex artillery and they are from my service era . Excellent firepower in a small package . Well done on saving this iconic artillery vehicle 😎
Anything tracked with no steering is no fun. When I was doing my track driving course in a 432 we had to replace the right hand track band. I was the first driver straight after. The normal route was head to the back gate, turn right, pass the houses on the left with parked cars outside, down the road to the crossroad and turn right, then go anywhere. So we get to the back gate and sure enough over the headset, at the gate turn right. A 432 is amazingly light on the steering and as such will follow the camber of the road so you have to constantly correct this with a light touch of the right stick, which is why the right track band wears more than the left. I get the road clear and head out, turning right and suddenly there is a jolt on the stick and it travels back and hits the front of my seat. Even with limited steering I manage to make the turn. However I'm worried about how many parked cars I'm going to hit but luckily I miss them all but every time I am using the full travel of the stick. I should add that the mike on my headset didn't work, I could hear OK but not reply. We get to the crossroads and sure enough turn right. I get the road clear and proceed only to end up on the far side of the junction markings forming a perfect road block. In my ear I hear, where the F***** hell are you going? I'm using my left hand to point to the right stick and hear, Ah, OK, then a series of commands to turn and head back to camp. When we get there and after the band has been adjusted the instructor comes over and says, It's times like that you find adrenalin is brown LOL>
Dear Joe, Now the FV432 APC is running really well so you and Adam did a great job and I think this APC deserves to have a more fresh look by painting the vehicle inside as well outside. I look forward to your next vlog and send you love from the Netherlands
Love to see you guys doing this sort of repair and tuning. I would love to do it myself, but I dont have the mental capacity to get into those small spaces and carry on working!
Is it like some kind of, "Badge of Honour" to crawl around in mud? I have a big sheet of fluted polypropylene, the kind of stuff used for making "for sale" boards for estate agents. Super light, very tough, and even insulates from the ground as it is double walled. Completely chemical resistant and simply wipes clean. If you are dumping fluid onto the ground beside you, just bend it up at an angle and stay protected on the sheet. You can get this at Wickes or any number of places.
@@johnnunn8688 It is my calling in life. Just be thankful that I made no mention of goretex overalls. BTW, I was fortunate enough to draw against John Nunn in a simul many years past.
I seem to recall we often used to attach cables while pack was partially suspended as access was so much better and less chance of crossing the fine threads though I appreciate your problems with old kit.
Again you guys are incredible mechanics like I said before installing motors are easy but when you come to tanks and what you guys do it's incredible to watch how you guys do it like it's nothing you guys are very experienced and it shows how mechanically knowledgeable you guys are completely incredible
Yes, that black Foden does the trick, seriously Think you guyz have got the coolest and craziest videos going AND work you put your heads into ‘upside down’ 😳❗️ Keep it up SUPERGREAT Fun‼️🥂 Thnx 👊🔥 🪖
You guys are doing wonderful work! I wished that you could continue with the FV3805 SPG restoration project that was canceled years ago. After the FV4005 ofc, but another centurion chassis that requires some love❤
I admire your skills in restoring these pre-knackered tank engines, that Abbot now sounds smooth, like a kittens balls rubbing together. But if you want to draw the site traffic then do a video just on the Mighty Foden alone. Make The Earth Tremble For 30 Minutes!
Two questions ? No 1 what did Seb do wrong to get the job of rolling round in the shit/mud to put the bolts back in , And No 2 do the packs have locating pins . ? And has Jacks disco destroyed its self yet .
