    I have a 2009 fit base manual with close to 310k, original engine, tranny, and clutch. The clutch just started to "creak" when I push the pedal.

    They should of put the 8th gen civic engine in it. The 1.8 would of have it the power everyone wants without compromising mpg

    I have had my 2011 for about 3 years now and I love my fit. I have the base model which has everything I need, except the only thing I wish I had were armrests. But asides from that, it has been a great daily driver.

      You can just buy an aftermarket armrest console.

    Same here. 46k miles and already on my 3rd set of tires! Honda replaced my last set free though because they were mounted wrong I guess. No problems at all.

    I had a 2009 Sport. I regret trading it in. The most reliable car I ever owned, hauled SO much stuff, and it was fun to drive. I never knew about the under rear seat storage space though 😂 it does have an insane amount of cup holders and storage spots lol

    I am in totally love with this car. I drive a Toyota Yaris fully optional but since here in the middle east we only get the 1.3 L engine version. Which to be honest isn't the most powerful or responsive either. I would love to hit the road with the Jazz/Fit. But as far as the price is concerned for the fit in the states I am guessing it is too over priced for a car of its size. The Toyota Yaris is much better value for money which cost me around 13500 for the full option model. That is a 6G dif.

    as someone who owns an auto civic, but learned to drive in a manual fit, I gotta say even though the motor is hilariously weak, the fit has to be one of my favorite cars, the 2009 that is the 07 is a shit box wagon

    My lease was up on my Civic and I was going to get a new one. I test drove a Fit and was totally sold. I loved it. It is perfect for a younger person like me who goes camping/hiking/fishing and rarely has anyone in the back seat. I actually thought the interior was better than the Civic and the view is so open with all the windows. I just got the DX base model though (which I never see). I'm still waiting for it because they're still hard to get!
    Thanks for posting this review. Very nice!

    @palebeachbum How is the Fit "also one of the thirstiest". You have to look the new fuel economy ratings and realize they are not quite accurate in real world driving (even though they were adjusted 2 years ago to reflect that).
    The Fit easily gets 10-15% higher MPG's than what you see on the specs sheet. Average highway MPG (60-70 MPH, 30-40 degree temps) is 40 to 45.
    That actually beats some of the hybrids that are currently on the market.

  • @eepruls
    @eepruls 16 років тому +3

    That's what I thought as well. The interior on the Civic just didn't feel right for me. I'm not a big fan of the speedometer being above the other stuff and announcing in huge digital numbers how fast I'm going. Not only does it tell anyone else in the car that you're going too slow or too fast, it's annoying as hell to the driver because it's so close to your view out the window. The Fit interior felt sporty and classy.

  • @palebeachbum
    @palebeachbum 14 років тому +3

    In all actuality, the old fuel economy ratings weren't terribly accurate either. No matter what car I had, I always got above the EPA highway rating and lower than the city rating. I was basing my statement on the facts presented, not what might be possible.

  • @palebeachbum
    @palebeachbum 15 років тому +3

    They hold their resale value like crazy because they are in high demand used. They are in high demand used because of their reputation for quality and reliability. The perceived quality/reliability can be quite different from what cars actually deliver though. Cars perceived as "cheap" are sometimes the best bang for the buck. Just because a person spends a lot more on a car does not guarantee a superior car. That's just how it is. Sometimes the best used values are cars that depreciate fast.

    I've always loved the Fit. This is my favorite generation. I test drove one and found it very uncomfortable. I'm tall and the seats have so little support. It made it a no-go for me. Last year, I decided to look at a 3rd gen Fit. It was worse because of less leg room. Still love the little cars, but I'll never own one.

    these are reliable cars, but they wear front tires out very quickly! they last about 15,000 miles, and the size 185-55-R16 they use is kinda hard to find!. otherwise, good car good on gas, low maintance. i have almost 50,000 miles on mine, and never had a problem. just change the fluids, brakes, and tires and ur good to go!

    honda is the best car company in the world and so smart, and this car shows it. I do find there prices are way too high which is why people are turning to hyundai which offers alot of value and a very reliable package as well. With the economy is canada and the usa so bad and credit lending so hard to come by, the car market should lower prices!

Think Honda u think proven reliability good looks, so they price them higher. Is it worth it? Thats up to u, but one thing, they hold their resale value like crazy...why?

    Honda Fit is a neat little car. Stylish, practical. Definitely designed to appeal to young people, with its funky dash and sporty wedge shape. But really people, it's one of the most expensive econo cars out there and also one of the thirstiest. Every seems so blinded by the Honda badge they don't notice this. The typical econo car shopper is looking for something cheap, reliable, and good on gas. The Fit only fits 1 of those categories.

    I'm comparing it to the Aveo (I know, its complete shit. Its getting an update next year), a Mazda 2, the Hyundai Accent, and most would expect a Toyota Yaris, but I hate Toyotas, so I don't wanna look at it.
