“Saying there is no life in the universe because we haven’t found any evidence is like going to the beach and scooping up a glass full of water, and saying ‘there are no whales in this ocean’”-Niel DeGrasse Tyson
True. The problem with us humans is that we think that we know everything about the universe but we can't even explore our own solar system. I'm expecting something beyond we know now. And i hope we'll get there.
Nohuddle that's because we live in human distances and lifetimes on a small Earth. And It still took thousands of years for humans to discover whales exist until we moved near oceans. Apply that to Space and its hundreds of thousands or millions of times greater in time and distance.
NoHuddleNoMercy it’s a metaphor jackass. Yes we know there are whales but he was putting it in layman’s terms to make the idea of the size of the universe more understandable. Not to mention at one point in our past we didn’t know whales existed. But exploring the oceans enough we found them
@@DADchs13 You have the gull to call me a "Jackass" ? This coming from a guy who likes his own comments... Must be a pretty lame guy/gal or an it, in person.
xXSnobasocksXx Exactly. I think if anything is out there, than they are so far away they are pretty much safe. The closer they are to humans the worst.
THAT MAKES AS MUCH SENSE AS MEETING LIFE AND SAYING DONT TELL ANYONE WE MET ,,,, WAIT ARE YOU LIFE . WHAT DO YOU MEAN ALL LIFE ,,WE DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS IN ASTRO PYSICAL DIMENSIONS .
Lauren, no that doesn’t make sense. Humans can send signals that any advanced society can detect as coming from an intelligent source. Why send a signal to outer space in a form that only your own species can detect?
The question I would like to ask is : Why do humans on earth still make war with eachother instead of investing our time and resources into advancing our technology. Why do the sane and moral people allow the greedy and corrupt to lead? Imagine a world where people wouldn't have to work to stay alive, but rather work to better mankind. A world where our technology has become so advanced that it serves us and we only work on improvement. A world where technology wipes poverty and hunger from the table and unites mankind without destroying our individual and national independence. This can all be achieved regardless of our religious or political differences as long as everyone starts to focus more on peace and advancement instead of just surviving and existing. If you look at what the World has to offer, you will see that in almost every country in the world we have brilliant people with unique ideas that can positively change our world.
+Adriaan Cilliers You are wrong it cant be achieved regardless of religious differences because religion at its core its rejecting the idea of mankind controlling itself but it promotes the ideology that god is exclusive and man can't control each other . The only way that your beautiful dream can be achieved is by realizing that religion has been always in front of technology revolution stopping and slowing it down. And there should be an nuclear event that will bring all of the humanity together to work in harmony and peace.
I wonder the same thing on a daily basis. if we can understand that simple concept why doesn't it happen? whatever the answer is I think it's what religious people call "the devil". …i have my doubts of course(question everything) but the Bible really does have some good knowledge hidden behind all the metaphors
Even us humans we can only do so much, aliens that have or will come here will be way ahead of us we can barely make it to the moon and back let alone fight aliens.
@ Tatiana Ferreira Thats not true were most likely not going to put up much of a fight against alien life, we will most definitely be destroyed or erased from existence, plus I dont see the point of us trying to fight back anyways, we are very fragile in most ways, NO! in a alot of ways, Also we don't know much about them but you can not deny the fact they are so ahead of us in technology and what not
Why assume an alien would even have a concept of “advanced”. This is part of the problem. Assuming aliens would think anything like a human. One thing I will say is human are stubborn and arrogant, and can rarely imagine another human being experiences a different reality, less alone an alien. Humans think that everything that exists HAS TO be confined by time. Everything has to have a beginning, and everything has to have an end, just because they do. And they cannot imagine it and other way.
One of the biggest reasons, is probably because as we look "back", further into space, we see things as they were not in present time, but sometimes millions of years ago. Perhaps millions of years ago some of these places WERE desolate. But now? If we could see back there now, as it is, or even travel there, it could be overrun with life.
I think this comment is absolutely brilliant! I've never thought of that before. The light and info being received from those stars is thousands, if not millions, of lightyear away
Or you could consider the fact they, as said, have much more advanced technology and science and are able to manipulate space-time to travel "faster than light" (I put the quotation marks for a reason). Unless it's just physically impossible, which would be very interesting.
I think life could also be possible on extemely hot/cold planets, the only thing is, we think life isn't possible on those planets because we can't life there. For example: we can't live beneath the water, but fish can. Maybe there's somekind of life that can survive in extreme conditions that we cant.
Like water bears? They can survive in places like the moon. However I think the reason we don't see life grow on other planets might be because there is no food on that planet to sustain life . Our life started because primordial soup had been spewing out of the sea bed . Presence of amino acids can be at play here too.
If there are aliens out there and if they are superior intelligent life, then they would know better than to communicate or come to earth.Think about it, you have a superior intelligence than bees, does not mean you would stick your hand in a beehive.
+akshay singh A species "intelligent" and "technological" would be probably billions of years ahead of us. They would have the ability to stay undetectable by us. They could probably even "cloak" their entire world from us or others...
+akshay singh A species "intelligent" and "technological" would be probably billions of years ahead of us. They would have the ability to stay undetectable by us. They could probably even "cloak" their entire world from us or others...
jrag1000 Or they are just so advanced, they don't notice us and they don't notice us. Like when you walk down the street, there's a worm on the side of the road, but you don't notice it, but that worm could be screaming as loud as it could, we still don't pay attention. For an alien life, we are just so puny they just walk past us without noticing us and vice versa.
The Pug Warrior maybe you don't, but I don't see bees making making technological scientific and social advancements. Have you seen or heard bees sending rockets into space? or mapping the human gnome?
But we do stick our hands in beehives and study, track, and release papers on them. We have studies how they communicate, social structure, and eat their honey. We have superior intelligence and we still study bees.
You'd have to think of it from the perspective you have now, let's say we witnessed signs of life on mars we would not simply ignore that, the main reason we are in space is to see if we could exist somewhere other than earth. Think of it on scale, microscopic earth in the gigantic universe. If you managed to escape your initial planet you would continue to attempt to delve farther into space. It's a curiosity endemic to intelligent life I'm sure.
jrag1000 do you realize we don't have telescopes that powerful? If you think of it from were we are now then what I said wouldn't even be plausible ..I'm saying a species more advanced than us clearly
Fester Blats It's a myth that the radio and TV waves from our planet travel on forever. It's just like shining a flashlight into the distance. It eventually spreads out so much that all the energy becomes dissipated. Even if we sent one single strong and concentrated signal (like a laser) it would only be able to contact a very specific point which would also reduce the chance of any real communication. That of course also assumes life on the other end is even attempting to (or is able to) receive the signal from us.
technology may vary.. the techonology we use to find aliens may be different than that of aliens used to find us or other aliens..so it may be due to techonology mismatch.. so if 2+2+2=6 similarily 1+3+1+1=6 and 1+2+3=6 i may be using different digits to reach at 6 but the conclusion is 6.. we are using different techonologies for same solutions..
What you say could be true, we have never been to or seen a planet that has had the correct circumstances for life, so who’s to say the life on that planet would be anything similar to life here on earth. For example bob Lazar was a man who supposedly worked at area s-4 on multiple crashed ufos, whether you believe him or not he has proved many things to be true that weren’t always the case, what I mean is he said the craft was run of a element not fount naturally here on earth element 115. When his story broke everybody thought the guy was a physcho until a few years ago when the scientific community announced the new element “element 115” which was the exact element bob lazar explained. If you interested I recommend watching his story he has also come out to prove much more things. Anyway my point is the craft that visited us had this element in abundant and in a table state, we had to learn to make the element and still can only achieve a half life state meaning it dies after a period of time. What if there planet of home to different chemicals and coumpound making giving them or us an advantage when it comes to using our resources
@@brucemorlan5513 For all we know, most super races are advanced AI machines that superseded their biological predecessors long ago. They don't need water, reasonable temperatures, air to breathe...
I also have this question. I don't know if TED has already made a video on this but how do we know that the conditions similar to Earth's are the only conditions life can form or live under. Can't the conditions of something we consider inhospitable be the right for some other alien civilisation?
Yess...the only thing close to an answer I've found is about possible life on Titan.. Titan has ethane and methane lakes. Scientists do say there could be different form of life there..one that is adapted to methane
@@mridhulml9238 There is a really high chance of life on titan. Not because they can be adapted to methane but because of methane. METHANE CAN'T OCCUR NATURALLY. Only life can produce methane. There is a really high chances for life to be there. We can't be 100 percent sure tho but usually methane is decomposed by bacteria and all the conditions are right for life. Maybe we'll get to know aliens in our lifetime.
have you checked out a a youtube video what we will look like in a thousand years and one of the predictions is that in the future we will develop larger brains and small teeth.
@@micah.1009 that doesnt discount the possibility though, not sure what the odds would be but if the odds of intelligent life being created is extremely low enough so that billions of years would barely seem significent there is the possibility that we may be the first It all comes down to the odds of one or the other happening but whose to say considering we still dont have a full grasp involving all of this
That's entirely incorrect. All we prove is that life can evolve here. We do not have proof that life can evolve elsewhere. I'm a pretty big believer that life exists somewhere else out there, but your statement just doesn't make one bit of sense at all.
A random planet, that formed around a completely random star in the perfect position (randomly) to create random lifeforms based on it's own ecosystem probably original to it only seems pretty much like proof to me.
Adrenalin844 "Pretty much like proof" is not "proof." When we find, or are able to create life on another planet, we will then have proven that life can exist elsewhere. Until that time, it will always be "pretty much like proof" but not proof.
Not we. But some organisms that live in the deepest parts of our oceans, and some microrganisms that can survive in radiation that would kill us in seconds
The thing is, maybe we (and them) have out-developed technology to a point where it cannot develop much further and this is somewhat the furthest that technology can go. Which means that a cost-benefit analysis would result in a negative by any civilization to send thousands of things into space. Why would they? Especially if they might already understand a lot of the universe and don't feel like they need to explore much more. Having reached the limit of technological development also means might mean that they cannot reach other solar systems (just like us) with spacecraft or it would not be realistic (just like for us with our current technology). This is why we will not see leftovers of such alien materials that quickly and often as you might expect at all. Maybe never. Maybe if one civilization has actually survived millions of years and can travel between star-systems to survive dying home-stars, they can detect us. But again, their cost-benefit analysis would result in the question: Is it worth it to travel passed a thousand or million stars away just to reach a civilization that they don't know whether we are dangerous or not? Or to send signals to us while we might be a dangerous more advanced civilization than them? (how would they know for sure) Even if there is already an entire network of civilizations in some places of the Milky Way galaxy, they might see us as a primitive, basic species that should just be left alone and not bothered. Like how we are slowly getting more respect for nature and we want to leave habitats alone and let animals in the wild just be themselves without disrupting their environment. If they already know about our existence, why would they bother letting us know? In what way would they benefit from letting us know that they know? They don't really care and maybe already know a lot about our milky way, not having much left to discover or explore. And then for the sad theory: We might just be an incredible coincidence. Think about all the random events that were needed for our planet to thrive with life. 1) Our planet being on the exactly right location from our star (the sun). 2) our planet having exactly 1 moon that has a good effect on our climate regulation (ocean tides, shifting winds). 3) Jupiter being on the exactly right location for us to throw many incoming asteroids away from us instead of towards us. 4) Earth having exactly right combinations of materials, subtances and gasses, forming and maintaining an ozon layer that is perfect. 5) Our star (the sun) throwing off less violent flares, having less aggressive activity around it than other stars. And having the exactly right amount of mass and size. 6) Earth having the exactly right size and mass to not create certain problems or risks for supporting life for an abnormal long period of time. 7) Evolution taking place and the coincidence of one-out-of-a-million species and variations of all the animals on earth (->the apes) accidentally evolving into something with larger-brain-capacity and complex brain-acitivity in the skull due to a coincidental biological/genetic effect, becoming something with higher intelligence. Possibly, we were never meant to be this advanced. That could be a diversion, an abnormality between the millions of animals/species on Earth. Or a wonder, a miracle, however you want to see it. So maybe, we were never meant to be. We possibly shouldn't exist and or an error in evolution. Could be but I like to think not. I see the more beautiful side of it. We were meant to be. We have just had a small amount of time to develop on Earth. Some animals here have been here for 10 to 50 times longer than us. Maybe any planet like ours experiences mass-extinction events more often than we have found out by our research. Maybe the next mass-extinction event can happen any time now. A time that gives any civilizations too little time to grow very advanced.
@VIJAY MANE how do you know? What other evidence do we have except that thousands of species on our planet seem to require very similar things and we see no life on other planets of our own solar system besides maybe under the oceans of Jupiter's moons that have similar compositions to Earth. Why would any civilization send ultra costly huge spaceships into space endlessly to travel for something that would not be beneficial but just be some information and of which vehicles most likely would have to outlive the length of how long the species on their home planet would even still be alive there to send information back to... the people on the spaceships will even forget why or would want to just live their own lives and make the best of it generations later, by just settling somewhere.
We all experience the same speed of light so for ufos to.exist even if the ufo spacecraft actually made it here they would be likely dead. If there are alien forms either they are no advanced or close enough. Math shows the distance we can see it would already be too long for them to survive. Its like you said. Maybe they cant evolve in technology or maybe if they did... like I said, the speed of light is the same for us all.
They probably are quite literally in a other dimension we could all occupy the same space simultaneously and only see small repercussions of their existence hence crop circles
Two things to consider: 1) the age of the universe has been revised down to 11 billion years old. If the Earth is 4 billion years old, that's almost half universe's age for the Earth to form, cool, get a moon to stabilize it, collect water, and ensure its magnetic field is strong enough to filter out harmful rays from the sun. Then the dinosaurs would have to all die before any mammals can start taking over. 2) The early universe would have been too harsh for all or any of 1) to take place so if there is another form of life out there with intelligence, it would have to be no more advanced than ours. Since we don't yet have the technology or the knowledge to communicate with extraterrestrial life, so won't other life out there with us.
I said it tongue in cheek to start with:) But being the object of an scientific experiment, does not mean you have to be able to consciously interact with the ones conducting the experiment:)
I love the narration by Chris Anderson. Literally inspired me so much. I always have a million questions running through my brain and this guy just makes my day by actually telling everyone to stay curious. TED is an amazing platform to learn too. I wish i had an opportunity to go to a TED talk one day. Until then these are my platforms for learning. 😁
Saifudeen Hisham thats not possible, theres no way anyone or anything with a brain could see all our buildings and technology and not acknowledge us as intelligent.
@@vinuzo9548 just because we can build stuff doesn't make us intelligent. We have the mental capacity to build a skyscraper but not accept people for their skin colour? There's some serious gaps in the mental stability of humans that seriously put our intelligence into question.
This is exactly correct! They can communicate telempathically. But many people reject these ideas because they are not provable. One idea humans have is that there is some sort of single truth, when the ultimate truth is composed of all truths. Truths that seems opposite can actually coexist. Many scientists are not comfortable with that and so it's hard for aliens to communicate with them.
If there is no limit of how big , the universe is, then there might be no limit to how small its constituent particles are. i.e. atoms of atoms of atoms and uptill infinity.
I live by the fact that the thing we call "universe" isn't the only one to exist. Amongst blackness passed the non existent border of our own universe, there are other universes that have other planets like ours. No, I am not saying that there is another you and me. I am saying that these other universes have their own planets that either do or do not have life. From our perspective, there seems to be no life anywhere besides Mars now. The other universes are either really dead or very alive with life. In my opinion, the only reason why we still haven't discovered life is that we are ignorant enough to only look for Earth-like planets as if we are actually going to go to these places anytime soon. No, not every organism in the universe would need water, oxygen, and whatever else. These aliens could go to the extent of only needing things such as methane or extremely hot temperatures to live. Has anyone ever took the time to realize that for all we know, there could be life on Venus or perhaps within the clouds of Jupiter. All of this is only going to lead back to the fact that not everything needs food, water, and air. If NASA or whoever keeps doing this to us, we will never find a living soul out there. If they are hiding it, I would assume it's because they want to defend religion which in our point in time shouldn't be necessary anymore. Everything has been explained and books such as the Quran or Bible are only explanations that have been rewritten a thousand times over to please the publisher. Those were the explanations of life itself in the past, but now, we have the ability to tell everything those books have ever told you with science and facts. Not to be anyone's enemy, but you have to admit that religion is only holding us back, because if we end up finding something out there, every religious person will be infuriated about it, because they though our planet Earth was special in this universe. You cannot tell me that out of all of those trillion stars in our sky that not one of them has life in its system of planets. You cannot tell anyone that with a straight face. Thank you for reading this.
Kory Anders • A Princess from Beyond i would bet there are other universes outside the boundaries of ours, and with a quantum matrix existing, there could be parallel universes in this universe
All religions should be outlawed, banned & erased from existing. The opiate of the masses, religion. Each Koran & Bible wants burning, load of tripe both of them. THERE IS NO GOD NOR ALLAH IN THE SKY WITH A BEARD, ROBES & SANDALS ON! Religion is for the weak minded or the gullible.
Simple answer really.. as a species we are not advanced enough yet to search for another sign ‘of life’ On the cosmic clock we’ve only been here for a couple minutes, I just hope that in my lifetime the answer will be we are ‘not alone’ 🙏🏻
Well what if they're is a predatory species out there who kills other civilizations one by one. Maybe it's foolish that we're broadcasting, giving our co-ordinates to them. Maybe we should stop and first develop tech weapons and enough advancement, but imagine what if a message arrives from space that say "Hsssh..Don't speak, they will hear you"
2 aliens from a Superintelligent alien civlization- Alien 1 - Should we eliminate the intelligent life on planet Earth? Alien 2 - Nah No need to do that; life in that planet is still arguing whether their planet is round or flat. They won't be a threat to us.

Maybe there are intelligent life beyond earth, it's just that we are so unintelligent they don't want to have anything to do with us, like you would try to avoid a violent abusive neighbor with a drinking problem
But if the theory of relativity is true, then earth Wil perceive time in its own way / time compared to space and other planets. So how can you say earth formed 9 billion years after the big bang if 9 billion years on earth could only be a few seconds somewhere else?
Because you said yourself time is real at relative to speed. This is one of the only things science doesn’t really have a explanation for. Think about it the universe is growing at a exponential rate meaning it continuously getting larger faster. Everything in your life as of right now moves at a (specific word I forgot: means farther you are the slower you move) rate. For example put a string on a ball. If the string is short you can whip the ball around really quick and if the string is long it will take some time to go around. Now think bigger, it takes earth 365 days to orbit the sun, it takes Jupiter 11.86 years. Now for whatever reason galaxy’s don’t follow this strange law of physics. Galaxy’s inner core and outer core rotate at the same rate of speed (meaning they move together) meaning the outer areas are moving much quicker than the inner areas. Now we cannot see how our universe reacts in this way but it’s safe to assume it behaves the same way as galaxy’s in that time is relative to speed so to answer your question if your are at earth and I am in the empty space where the universe was just created. Get it kinda? It’s super confusing and I’m no teacher but I take AP astronomy and I’m gonna be a aerospace engineer so I took a few study lessons about this
I mean for all we know, WE may be the most advanced civilization in the galaxy. That might explain why we haven't found anything yet. Then again we've just begun to look...
Are you really that terrified of differing opinions? Sorry I've upset you so much. I do hope the rest of your day goes better. Thake care and... GOD BLESS!
I asked a couple tough questions and instead of responding with a reasonable answer you called me a troll. Does the bible teach name-calling? Of course it doesn't. How do I know? We could be the only intelligent life forms to evolve in the milky way galaxy. But there could also be other planets in other galaxies that contain life-- we don't know. Multi-verse theory, however, claims that there are many universes, each with scores of galaxies, contained within one gigantic cosmic domain. Imagine a hot tub is the cosmic domain, and each bubble is a universe. There could very easily be life out there.
*_I think that_* - 1) There are other ways of communication that we haven't discovered yet. Some other form of energy to send signals or communicate. And our science has not reached that point yet. We have not discovered their means of communication and vice versa and therefore signals are going waste and we think there is no life there. 2) This is on purpose and not a co-incidence that even if there is life , it is seperated by a massive distance in the universe. 3) Maybe we are being observed under the microscope. 4) Maybe we are the first Civilization 5) Even if we send a signal now, it would reach the other civilization million years later and till then who knows if we are alive or not. 6) It's not important that life maybe mobile like humans. I believe there are other forms of life which are unimaginable till now and we are just neglecting them. If we have to contact other Civilizations, we have to be FAST in everything. We will need transportations faster than the speed of light , to reach those universes which have habitable planets but take even light to reach there about 1 million years
A sense of humor made it all the more worthwhile. Why do scientists think radio signals are universal? Supposed a being became aware of a radio signal, what could that species look like?
Many people don't really want to discover anything. Reality is a reflection of our consciousness they say. So people want to believe that aliens don't exist or it scares them simply because humans don't realize how powerful they are so they choose to live limited lives. Part of their interest is watching as we discover our power, it's like a baby being born they say.
I think that we have been discovered, and that some form of life is watching us. Seeing if we are worthy/trustworthy of seeing their presence. I wouldn't imagine observing a world that has wars with its own species, a species that is ruining its own environment, and a selfish society a safe place to visit. They are probably just waiting for us to mature to the point where we coincide with our environments and peoples.
If we lived on a peaceful planet and discovered a planet that was constantly fighting and stockpiling large-scale explosives, would you go and introduce yourself? Or would you just keep on lookin'? If there is intelligent life out there, I believe they have closed us off from the rest of the Universe until we prove ourselves as a loving, peaceful, and trustworthy race. Take a look around - we've got work to do.
You know, a lot of religions are about peace and love, and helping your neighbor. The world would be such a better place if people stopped judging people by their views. If only we all lived in a golden-age of world peace, prosperity and progress.
Or maybe they too have warss and conflicts constantly going on. Or maybe intelligent is just so rare that the chances of two intelligent races meeting is extremely low due to the low chance of them developing Close to each others time of existence. Maybe we are the first intelligent Life in the milky way or maybe we are just a new intelligent Life that has come about because Another died out a billion something years ago. Fuck it, there's 0 chance that we will meet any intelligent Life the first 2 centuries of the second millenia. Maybe when tourism on the Moon is pretty normal we will finally leave our solar system and maybe reach the closest Earth like planet (I Believe the closest one is about 18 light years away, That's freaking LIGHT years, for a normal space ship going on rocket fuel speed in vacuum (Like 4000km/hour) it would take thousands of years to reach it. It's just wishfull thinking man, I Think we should rather completely focus on how to preserve Earth for the future generations, for the future of ourselves. Sure go ahead and do some research in space, but don't forget that Earth is the only planet we can live on in our solar system. The other planets are dead man-stone Cold dead. I mean just take a look of those Pictures of mars and Venus and titan. It's so depressingly dead and stony. 0 chance of Life on those planets. here's a Picture of mars (No color adjustments for Earth like Picture) - www.nasa.gov/jpl/msl/pia18476/
Mike Rogers It is highly possible. Wars, crime, hate and petty politics are moves that dictate an overall low intelligence of a species. A species that has eradicated all of the above has clearly gathered enough common, shared knowledge to think of their surival among the stars and stop caring about filling a politicians pockets.
Doubt that, technology depends on resources and needs why assume their planet is richer than ours so far we havent seen many rich earth like exoplanets ... most are tidally locked burning balls of substar gas, immense ocean worlds where water is so compressed its like a metallic solid...show me these resource rich worlds early in the universes development show me the money
@@mohamedkamrar8718 They say what we don't understand is that we create the evidence not the other way around. The evidence is there is you want to see it. It's like politics and how each side seems to be able to prove their point. People believe what they want to be. There are virtually no absolutes in creation. The reality is reflection of what you believe. That's what they might say.
I have a theory, I saw a different documentary to this one ages ago, it was very scientific and told me that the 2 most versatile molecules in the universe are carbon and silicon, because they can both form complicated structures. So in theory, if there was a planet somewhere that has lots of silicon, and other molecules, there maybe a combination of molecules for a silicon based life form, and if that was to happen, or if it has happened, that life form would most likely be the most successful type of space explorers possible. Our own technology has gone through the roof since the moon landings, and it’s all thanks to silicon chips, and right now we are on the cusp of creating a silicon based life form. What if it’s not a coincidence? What if our constant hunger for newer better technology blinded us to the fact we were given this tech in the first place, and we are being steered towards creating an artificially intelligent species that they could turn on us at anytime. Am I completely nuts?
But the Fermi Paradox answers it's own question. The reason we do not find alien life is 1: We see in evolution sentience is an anomaly. An unnecessary aspect to the production and preservation of "life". 2: Vice. "Unable to control our technology" is a really really nice way of saying not shooting twats who slow down progress. Look at how much better the internet would be without moderators suppressing information/dialogue, hackers developing sophisticated new trojans to slow down your browser, and tech-geeks just making empty software trying to upsell you. War is but a minute problem of how we let dickheads control technology. 3: Harsh conditions. Intelligent or not, space is a pretty shitty place. It's cold, it's empty, and it's vast. Even just getting from point a to point b seems insanely difficult. Sure you could send a cosmic email. But what good would it do? So some other lifeform can no that yes, indeed other lifeforms exist but they're pretty much stuck in the same rut on the different side of the universe? 4: Mathematical improbability. Even given almost infinite planets, many with enough resources to bare complex life, they may not survive long enough to reach such tech. If it took us a few billion years to get this far, it might take us at least a few million more to really perfect space travel. By than we could get sucked into a blackhole oblivion, incinerated by a quasar, collide with a massive meteor, etc. This is not to say everything is hopeless. Far from it. The realistic goal should be sticking moderators in camps and really developing a functional type one civilization. Also, intelligent life doesn't mean that those extraterrestrial species have to be breathing on Oxygen, Drinking on water, and eating animals and plants. What if they inhale helium, drink Carbonic Acid and eat rocks. I am sure if we search with that perspective, a lotta planets could have beings. There even *might* be planets in our own solar system that are teeming with life.
It is absolutely impossible that we are alone in our universe. And even by a long shot we are, think about the other billion galaxies. If we exist then others exist! And that is a certainty
We have one data point we are alive. Science doesn't have a good explanation for intelligence so it's possible we are unique. Only if you start with the assumption that we are purely material is your conclusion correct. Maybe we were created uniquely maybe we weren't either way there is all the more reason to keep looking. IMHO
that is most certainly not a certainty! sheer speculation. for all we know we could well be alone, that is what the evidence currently shows in any case.
Paul George I'M sorry, but if we exist then others exist! it is mathematically impossible that we are alone. Alone in our solar system YES! Alone in our Galaxy? not likely. Alone in the universe? you have to be borderline brain dead to believe we are alone. I believe other races that pre date humans have been on earth and left or died. think how old is the earth (4.5 billion Years old) we has Humans are only a drop in the bucket of time. I believe other races have been here before. you would have to be crazy to believe we are alone
mejw1 It is not mathematically impossible that we are alone. The universe is not infinite so if the odds of forming life are small enough even in a very large universe only one civilization would exist. You would then need a multiverse to explain life. Alternatively the odds could be zero in which case God is required or the odds could be large enough that life is common. 4.5 billion years is not that long of a time the universe is much older. The atmosphere and tectonics had to change over a billion years to support cellular life, and more changes had to occur to support advanced life. life appeared on earth as soon as possible, as did advanced life.
@@dm0065 Actually you should Google the word "Research" . I am a very skeptical person that believes true research requires an open mind and logical common sense analysis of any situation. After years of real research I have concluded that most UFO stuff out there is questionable but a rational mind should conclude some of it is probably real based on credible accounts by credible people such as David Fravor(navy pilot trainer) , Gordon Cooper(legendary astronaut) , Edgar Mitchell (astronaut who walked on moon) , Ben Rich ( director of Lockheed Skunk Works) , ( Jimmy Carter ( US president) the list goes on and on..... Again, do your research people!
The point of being an illusion is that you don't know you are an illusion. So the fact that you suspect you are an illusion shows that you are not an illusion.
This is why I always thought the concept of space aliens visiting earth to be impossible, simply due to the enormous galactic distances a living being would have to travel. Even a spaceship traveling at the speed of light (which is impossible) a being would have to live for hundreds or thousands of years to get from point A to point B. Conversely, even if we manage to do the same, humans only live for so long. Other life out there? Yeah, probably! The Uni is just too damn big.
@@tupimpacaterpillar3516 how you are you going to get a ship flying for straight 100.000+ years thats an unimaginable amount of fuel for which you would need a ship unimaginably big for to store, and for such a big ship you'd need so much fuel that this would be impossible, you are stuck in a loop. In other words, even if time wouldn't be problem, material, space and mass would be. I'd assume the entire earth doesn't even have enough/enough of the right material to make such a trip. The only way would be to go beyond light speed or concepts such as wormholes, which as of yet we view as absolutely impossible as well.
But the universe is as old as it is big. You can colonize an entire galaxy in a very small fraction of the life of the universe at entirely possible speeds. It is very, very possible
The technology is developing at a very fast rate, have you perhaps thought about quicker mean to travel? Such as teleportation? It doesn't exist now, but it could in the future. Your ideas are just like saying, 'It is impossible to travel the Earth in one life'- 1000 years ago...but now it could be done in a few days, thanks to airplanes.
@@bangtangirl3503 i think that is a bit of a difference, a big pile of wood that floats is not to crazy to think of creating, a 1000 years ago, traveling the earth was already entirely possible with a big enough boat and food, though it would be a big risk and probably a 19/20 chance of dying due to the lack of acces to maps and further advancements that we have now. We just didn't know how big the earth was and had no reason to go out. Also everyone was scared of falling of the edge of the earth as we thought it was flat. But we know that the universe is incredibely large, we know pretty precise measurements of distances between other planets were life might be possible, but the earth simply can't supply for such trip. Personally I feel that someday in the far future we will have the intelligence, and great ideas, but simply just not have the ability to progress due to supplies.

Problem with that is we know for fact there are whales in our oceans because we seen them. Not a very intellectual fellow.

That's probably how it would work out. One possibility is that other civilizations have come and gone. You won't know until you know.

Aliens : Hello humans.
Humans: Seen 10:43 pm✔️✔️
Lauren, no that doesn’t make sense. Humans can send signals that any advanced society can detect as coming from an intelligent source. Why send a signal to outer space in a form that only your own species can detect?
I think we should consider time. Maybe signal takes a lot of time traveling until reach another intelligent life. And also to the aliens to reply.

@@BriggsDCory You forget what humans do to their lesser intelligence species in earth.

You are not alone in this
One of the biggest reasons, is probably because as we look "back", further into space, we see things as they were not in present time, but sometimes millions of years ago.
I'm thinking the same thing. They could be looking at out galaxy just forming.
Or you could consider the fact they, as said, have much more advanced technology and science and are able to manipulate space-time to travel "faster than light" (I put the quotation marks for a reason).
Unless it's just physically impossible, which would be very interesting.
I have always thought the same thing and maybe that is part of the answer to the Fermi paradox
that seems plausible and thats why the signals we receive but can't see the lifeplanet sending it

But can I ask u... Why a fish need to be smart? It's a fish.

jrag1000 Or they are just so advanced, they don't notice us and they don't notice us.
Maybe they are really far and are looking through a microscope and see dinosaurs not us..because of how long it takes life to travel

jrag1000 it doesn't seem like it should rare so If we're going by odds..unintelligent life would not seem interesting enough to investigate

Maybe they communicate using a different method to radio waves. Maybe they are so different to us we can even register them with our technology.
*can't.
maybe we are a alien
Fester Blats
It's a myth that the radio and TV waves from our planet travel on forever.

Adrenalin844 "Pretty much like proof" is not "proof."
When we find, or are able to create life on another planet, we will then have proven that life can exist elsewhere. Until that time, it will always be "pretty much like proof" but not proof.

You seem to have an absence of imagination, don't you?
I'd rather think of us not being alone.
(how would they know for sure)
Even if there is already an entire network of civilizations in some places of the Milky Way galaxy, they might see us as a primitive, basic species that should just be left alone and not bothered.
This is a good comment
Damn boii, that's long
@VIJAY MANE how do you know?

Also they trabel with the same speed.of life. Even if they were more advanced they are too far to get here. So they would likely be dead.

Now if the aliens are like cows, they will not spread out in the galaxy even after a billion years of their spawning.

That could be a possibility, I mean if an advanced civilization came across us, and we were uninteresting then they might shrug and move on.

Man you make me feel comfortable when I see someone who understands! Keep going!
If u actually read the books they say there is life in other planets..

Yeahh I wanna know the answer ur genius
I mean, your not wrong.
Spacetime is just so advanced for my brain to handle lol

*_I think that_* -
1) There are other ways of communication that we haven't discovered yet.
4) Maybe we are the first Civilization
5) Even if we send a signal now, it would reach the other civilization million years later and till then who knows if we are alive or not.

The voiceover is really good! ❤️
I wish in heaven we can get all the answer and truth in visual that we cant solve in this planet called "EARTH".
Lol don't wait for the heaven. You might lose both chances. If you want to achieve something you have to work for it atleast for now.
One of my thoughts exactly! If they listen to our radio and watch our television I would run from this planet!!!!!!!!!
You know, a lot of religions are about peace and love, and helping your neighbor. The world would be such a better place if people stopped judging people by their views. If only we all lived in a golden-age of world peace, prosperity and progress.
"Imagine no religion"

They have advanced technology beyond we can think , we have to go at least a million year further to find the atmosphere where they exist.
you u have any evidence for this
Doubt that, technology depends on resources and needs why assume their planet is richer than ours so far we havent seen many rich earth like exoplanets ... most are tidally locked burning balls of substar gas, immense ocean worlds where water is so compressed its like a metallic solid...show me these resource rich worlds early in the universes development show me the money

The reality is reflection of what you believe. That's what they might say.
Maybe they are way too advanced to be seen in a physical way and we don't have the enough advancement to see them
good thoughts, maybe
The reason we do not find alien life is
1: We see in evolution sentience is an anomaly.
We almost had it under communism, but all the twats banded together to put a stop to that.
Maybe WE are first?
the chance of that happening is miniscule
Alex Đoàn Almost nothing is impossible.
+Кэтишкэт Старье nothing is impossible, its just highly probable, probable, improbable, and highly improbable. In this case us being the first sentient life forms is highly improbable.

Jonathan ramirez Meh, it means that we can bring democracy all over the Universe!
1:12 now that is sarcasm at it finest.

Cryo sleep
