I spent so much time on this! And super annoyed too in that I already had my custom "region" coded in my data source thinking I had to recreate manually in tableau. Like every time. This worked!. Also, HERO. :)
Will Tableau identify duplicate county names? For example, the county name of Santa Cruz is in AZ (Arizona) and CA (California). I have FIPS Codes that I like to use (State FIPS and County FIPS concatenated). Hopefully that will be the identifier that will bring in both counties. Is this true?
Great video. Short and still useful 8 years later
I previously didn't notice the 'create from' geo location field
Great video, still useful 8 years later.
Thanks!
Great tutoria, thank you for pointing me to these features. I am new to Tableau, so this was most helpful.
Amazing! Thanks for the "create form" tip. So useful.

Thanks for pointing out the 'create from' geographic role option. Solved my problem of hierarchical geographies not being recognized automatically
Can one save somehow these groups so he can use it in other projects, with other Excel files? Save them and "import" them for another project?

But how do I make the regions from nothing? This seems easy but I need to make Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Hi there , is it possible built one map where we can drill down from several layers like country, state, suburb and finally stores ?
Great work, still very useful thing.
Nice, succinct, accurate presentation
Good video. Could you do a tutorial on making donut charts on maps?
