I just drove my 88 f250 7.3 idi for the first time today. Im a little baffled. Could you help figure out how to drive this thing? I run it up to 2500/3000 b4 shifting but it sounds waaaayyy too high.
More throttle, less rpm. Easy. They behave differently than a gas engine which makes people apply a small amount of throttle and then wind them out expecting the power to come as the revs increase.

Yes, i do the same thing, first is way to low. Especially since I have 4.10 rear diff.

So you don't mess up the gears/clutch starting in second from a dead stop?
