the "weird ball ankle things" are heavily stylized third toes/dewclaws. The big top joint (below the hip) is the knee, the joint below that is the ankle, and the bottom joint is in the foot. Like a cat.

Wow, the clay around his eyes make a huge difference. In the end, it’s a little bit like a red Gyarados but humanoid. I believe magikarp and gyarados is based on the legend of how carps turns into dragons when they swim up a waterfall. But this is what happens when humans intervene to speed up the process xD I love the Mewtwo hands btw, glad you it right the second go!

do you mind me asking where you get the wire from and what type it is? also clay recommendations if you don’t mind i really want to get into sculpting and your work is amazing!
I don’t mind at all! You can get wire for sculpting (of any thickness) at any hardware store like Home Depot or Lowe’s, it’s usually the cheapest at places like that, but you can also buy them at craft stores like Michael’s and Hobby Lobby. They usually have thick wire around the clay sections and very thin wire around the fake flower sections, but that’s just what I’ve experienced. As for clay, I use the cheapest clay there is: craftsmart for colored clay and original sculpey for white clay! At Walmart (if you live in a country with Walmart) the original sculpey is the cheapest at $6.56 for 1lb. If you think you might struggle to get a smooth finish on a piece, the white clay is what I usually use since it’s cheaper and you can sand it after it’s baked to remove any imperfections. If I feel like painting the end product, I’ll go white clay. If you want to use colored clay, it’s a bit firmer and easier to work with, but you can’t sand it after it’s baked, so smoothing it before you bake it is important. All the clays have different baking instructions, and you can use a regular kitchen oven (it sounds more dangerous than it really is)! It’s usually something around the lines of 230 degrees Fahrenheit (110 Celsius) for 15-20 minutes. There’s also a bunch of subreddits like r/sculpting, r/polymerclay, etc that could help you with more specific problems should you run into them. I hope this helped and I hope to see what you sculpt one day!!
Knowing nothing about the actual chemical reactions taking place, I use acetone when there are deep gashes/scratches; I find it melts off the top layer of clay. I use isopropyl alcohol for lighter smoothing, getting rid of lint/hair, it feels like the isopropyl alcohol takes off a lot less clay so I use it for more precise correction!
Awesome work as always! It would be fun to see a lvl. 100 Mewkarp that is using Splash and nothing happens. xD A fusion of Leafeon and Mimikyu would be pretty neat.
