Hello friends,
I hope you have been doing well! As you all know, I've been going through a little bit of a creative rut so this video is definitely on the experimental side for me. Not only did I want to share more of my culture with you, but it was also extremely refreshing and fun for me to film. Hope you enjoy!
xx,
Julia

Anyone else here multilingual? Would love to know what languages you speak!
As an Indian, I speak Telugu, Hindi and English. And as I'm very enthusiastic about Spanish culture, I also speak intermediate Spanish, so that's 4 languages 🙌
mandarin, english, and a little bit of spanish :)
French, Italian, German and English
just chinese canto its a struggle
my brain is always a jumble. I’m ukrainian but since i was a baby I was educated in English. So Ukr/Eng my mother tongue but know russian, mandarin, spanish and czech (grew up in prague) 😂
I remember you saying in the last video that someone commented about your content being repetitive and this time you tried changing the genre. You are so hard working and creative. Love you for your aunthenticity. Also, just a reminder, your content is NOT Repetitive ❤❤❤❤🥰🥰🥰😘😘😘😘😘
Aww Ritika thank you for this comment it made my day ❤ y’all make all the hard work worth jt
I love how Yuan just jumped in and was all for your challenge, so sweet :)
I looooved this vlog so much. I can definitely see your extroverted side when speaking Chinese, I feel like it is the more raw version of you coming through
This was such a fun video!! I always admired (and envied) the people I grew up with who spoke another language at home. I wasn't introduced to learning a second language until high school and that was such a struggle. I still struggle with learning other languages. I feel like it's so much more beneficial to learn multiple languages from a young age. Side note: I'm also going to be practicing how to say "go eat poop" in Cantonese haha
Yes definitely big props to my parents for keeping the house English free 😂 I’m struggling to relearn French these days but I’m hopeful that with time it will get better so hopefully you’re not discouraged to learn a new language ❤
Love Love this video!!! It is great that you are speaking Chinese. It shows how authentic you can be. Keep it up!!!!!!
julia is our multilingual queeennnn ✨
😚😚😚
Smart way to prepare for a trip to China and made for an entertaining vlog. Thanks! I'm a big fan of Chinese dramas and sadly I finished "Nothing But You" today that I will miss. Totally recommend.
Trip to China soon 😉👀 also adding that drama to my watch list!
Your cantonese is so good. HAHAH when you were describing your outfit
I did not learn the terms for all of these garments in Chinese class 😵💫
Your dad driving you guys 1.5hrs away to learn Mandarin and stay connected to your mother tongue is so sweet to me. Im actually tearing up 🥹🫶🏾
He’s the best 🥹 you really don’t fully appreciate your parents until you get older huh
If don't use it you will lose it
I have been watching your videos for quite a while and had no idea you speak Mandarin AND Cantonese. This video is so fun and I enjoyed watching it!
this was so entertaining!! oddly satisfying to hear you speak chinese! 😅
Was nervous posting this video but I’m glad that y’all are enjoying it ❤
I’m so impressed, Julia! I really enjoyed this video 😁
Aww thank you for supporting always ❤
hahah omg this is too cute of a video!! imma call you "julia 小姐“ from now on 🥰🥰
My family is from Taiwan so it's always so interesting to me hearing Mandarin from mainland China speakers -- you speak with a completely different accent from me and everyone I grew up speaking Mandarin with!
Lol I was also so shook the first time I learned how people from China say spoon (like how your boyfriend said in the video) - it's completely different in Taiwan! Same with words like trash can, tomato, mochi...
LOLL I guess the store owner was just trying to be nice 🥹🥲 yes super interesting how there can be so many variations for one language!
@@juliafei Omg nooo I didn't mean that it was bad 😭I meant it like how a Southern accent is very different from a British one!
Ju, I love it! Mandarin is very interesting and even though I don't understand anything, I thought you speak it very well. That's the best part of meeting someone who was born in another country: getting to know new cultures =)
Your mandarin and Cantonese is soo good. It’s great you can speak both so fluently. I can only speak Cantonese
Knowing more than one language is already super impressive!!
LOVE the black top with the bow ribbon!
Hey I’m from guangzhou toooooo!!! Nice and nostalgic to hear Cantonese here ❤
Ahh I miss Guangzhou so much ❤
I could understand some of what you were saying. I use to do work in China in early 2000 and had a book I carried everywhere. They helped and I helped them. Great vlog
Wow that’s awesome!! Chinese is definitely a hard language to pick up
Ah, Julia you speak Cantonese too! Also, it's so cuteeee. omg, imagine we went to the same Mandarin Chinese school in Chinatown when we were little.. LOL
Omg! I actually did attend one near Hester Street Playground for a hot second 😮
I’m not bilingual, but if I were, it would be Swedish or Norwegian. I do study common phrases before I travel to countries for whom English is a second language, if spoken. I think that is fun, and I just use a couple of the free apps. It’s so nice that your parents speak Cantonese at home and you also have some knowledge of Mandarin. My college Swedish was a fail; all I can remember is how to say I love you
you said you speak 3rd grade mandarin but your accent and intonation etc. sound really natural!
if u speakk it often yea
Omg I think my tones are off some times but thank you!! 😊
Loved it, Julia!
Thank you for watching Donna 🫶
This was so FUN to watch! :) so silly!
Hehe I’m glad you enjoyed ❤
Hi! Can't wait to watch the video.🌼
Thank you for the support Michael 🫶
this video is so cool!!! i love it:)
Want more vlogs like this series!!
Love the video & thanks for the subtitles lol.
For someone who grew up in the US, I think that your Chinese is very good. There is definitely a light American accent to your Cantonese, but it is mild compared to most people who didn't grow up in Hong Kong or Guangzhou. The Cantonese accent is notoriously hard to learn for non-natives.
Loved this vlog. Would love to see more. Yes I am!!! In Spanish - specifically the western part of Mexican county.
🤣🤣🤣 the 2nd of the vlog.. you trying to describe yah outfit in Chinese got me like LMAO 🤣🤣🤣
what a great video Julia - your chinese is so good!! i LOL'd at the "loser + people that are not self aware" part
Thank you! it’s definitely still a work in progress 😂 in argumentative situations I have to revert back to English as you can see haha
Where did you go for the noodles?? I'm coming to NYC next week and it looks amazing!!
I love it, especially when you're speaking Cantonese! I thought you're ABC who can't speak Chinese. There is a sense of closeness and bonding. Hope you'll do more videos in Cantonese😄!
More to come in the future ❤
This was entertaining to watch😂
Great job!!
Thank you!
I don’t speak any Chinese I am a silent new watcher starter watching you in your moving Vlog and I don’t agree that your content is repetitive I love watching you and I enjoy this Vlog as well so what I’m trying to said is I really enjoy your videos and even this one 😊
Very interesting vlog - loved your day out with Yuan, but I was worried someone would come up to you and insist you speak English hehe. Stay safe!
You’re too sweet! Thank you ❤
Yay!🎉🎉
🫶🫶🫶
your Cantonese is on POINT!
Stop it you’re boosting my ego 😂😂😂
you speak really fluent Chinese and there's nothing strange about your accent!!!
you and your bf are so cute haha, i loved this video!!
i love your Cantonese ❤ please do more🎉
❤️ great video! Do another please?
The skit at the end was funny 😆
It wasn’t scripted but I do like to play out these scenarios randomly haha lmk if he passed 😂
@@juliafei it was funny so he passed, but his wife should be careful so you don't steal him 😂
more multilingual content pls! ♡
Noted ✍️ ❤
Hey Julia, can you mention all the good restaurants and especially Cafés and fashion / thrift stores you always go to in your next video? I‘ll be visiting NYC end of May from Germany and I am really interested what a „local“ is visiting on a regular basis so I will avoid the very touristy stuff :) thank you so much
More vids in mandarin please they're so helpful for practice
hahaha the ending mandarin with your bf was funny. can you do another one with viet or a speak to bf in canto for 24 hrs
thank youuu 🥰 my viet is so bad we would spend the entire day not talking 🥴 but maybe the canto one!
Hahaha yes a full canto one would be fun!
wow new plates and bowls
A gift from one of my friends!!
You and your friend are so cute together!
Hehe thank you 🫶
me watching this after learning chinese for 7 yrs and not practicing for the past 4 yrs 😂😅 *immerses myself in this vlog*
I hope you enjoyed! And that you understood some of my bad Chinese 😅
Um, you look amazing when you wake up? Your skin is flawless!
I’m gonna be honest here, the Sony zv1 has a slight skin filter on!! Don’t be fooled hahah but thank you 😝
我希望你今天過得愉快很高興看到人們學習中文 by the way this is traditional chinese
haha, such a funny video!
你的夹子音好可爱
Oh you def need to do more vids in Chinese
Hehe maybe more to come 🫢
Hi guys is a portion of the video a black screen of her speaking Chinese I just want to be sure my UA-cam isn’t glitching 🥺
Hi julia
👋
哈哈哈哈好可爱,“现在我们去,干啥?”
😝😙
笑出眼泪😆
Cute!
You are fortunate that your parents wanted you to learn another language at an early age.
How's your Vietnamese?
omg not good enough to make a video like this 😂😂😂
Ahhh I just realized who you remind me of - Wonyoung!!
Omg no wayyyy the biggest compliment 🫣🫣🫣 that I’d gladly take hehe ❤
贴心我的屁股?哈哈哈哈哈。。。这集笑死俺了。。。。well done!
Your friends has a Taiwanese accent.
你妈妈是越南人吗?
If you're at a first grade level, then i'm at an infant level

As a Chinese but cannot speak Chinese. There is no excuse and will not be appreciated. I am a overseas Chinese in Malaysia. I can speak Mandarin English, Bahasa Malaysia, Foochow Hokkien and other Chinese dislects. No excuse the host cannot speak Chinese Period.
I am not multilingual but the support and learning throughout this video was so cute. I enjoyed every second and it was nice to get to know this side of you🫶🏻
Aww thank you for your support Rachel ❤🫶
