Hi val, I’m a huge supporter of your nail platform for a long time. And your video is so relatable on the nail brands that sells to us girls of all nail types. You are not alone on some of these mentioned brands and the experience with customer service support and the quality of the nails from years of reformation of their products. I know this year I will be moving around to different companies and products that will cater to women with larger and flatter nail beds because these nails are way too expensive to waste. These companies have to do better research on different nail types than to just sell a STANDARD sizing for all that is not for all. Overall your press ons are beautiful and detailed to the touch. Val, thank you for being so generous in sharing everything nails that you have learned in your journey. I have been doing press on nails for about 10 months now and I have to say the website side of things is not fun. I have had no traffic at all and confused as to how to link my Shopify store to the other platforms. I will sort it out in time and meanwhile, I will just keep practicing. Regarding the nail tips, I am still spending a small fortune trying this brand and that brand and cheap and expensive. Beetles nails seem to be good. I loved the French nail tutorial you did. You are very encouraging and supportive. What do you think of layering acrylic on gel nails for strength? I watch another nail artists who does this and then paints nail art with gel.
My favorite medium square is Makartt pump ups, but they don’t sell them in the 500 pack anymore 😢 They have the most beautiful curve/apex but not too much. Fit me like a glove and I have average curve. I have all of their other shapes and lengths. Medium almond is my next favorite. I also have Makartt Pro long square but they run small and a little too much C curve for most.
I also love Aprés short almond natural. I just bought ENail Couture square, almond, French tip, and ombre!

Hey hun, I am a nail tech an make press on nails as well. The way I would suggest to measure your tips so you have accurate measurements for all of them is to get strips of sellotape, put the piece of tape on the back of your hand a few times to remove some of the stickiness. Just so it’s not so difficult to remove it from the top after measuring.
Then place it on the inside of the top (the part that would be touching the natural nail) and then take a pen and mark the edges of each of the side walls. Then you can place that on a ruler and get the actual measurement of each tip.
If you don’t have any tape on hand another way you could do it is if you have some thread from a sewing kit or something. Or even floss if it is thin enough (tho I haven’t used floss personally I’m just guessing if it is as thin as thread it would work just the same)
And what you can do is take a long enough piece of thread place it over your nail, take the tip and place that on you finger on top of the piece of thread. Hold it there with your thumb or index finger if doing your thumb and then with your other hand mark each side of the thread that is coming out of the side wall of the nail. Then you can again put that on a ruler and measure that.
I really hope I explained that we’ll enough as I’m so 💩at explaining what I mean in writing and can explaining in person or verbally a lot better, tho still not thee best lol.

Those apres sculpted squares you hated would be the only ones fitting me 😂 i have wide nails with deep natural c-curve, like my thumb is 1.7-1.8 mm wide! I have problems finding fitting tips some apres temu/shein dupes fit me perfectly but i dont trust them to be available always. I live in Finland so American products are not easy access for me 😭
I was using apres but now they have added half sizes and i have to get all new boxes vs refills. I have also used Igel tips but they dont have refills. I need refill sizes on the next brand I choose.
you may wanna try Sofgel tips which is made by the creator of Apres nails and they are definitely the industry standard or try painted desert for wider fit etc… thanks for sharing opinions

I know what you mean about the apres square… I thought it was just me. 😢 even if I put them on as gelx.. you have to cute them and basically reshape

I personally don't size up for one color sets! Only if its going to have more than 4 layers of gel, then I will size up ❤

I realized enail coutures tips run small as crap the full cover tips its absolutely insane ....how tiny they are but a lot of their stuff was.horrinle that i spent just like the scoops all my freaking gels they sent were expired 2017 and 2018 wtf it was insane

Did you pay attention on the Apres tip as to if they where the sculpted or the natural tips sculpted has a higher apex style they are more for curved nail beds and the natural are a flatter style tip for people with flatter nail bed! Please don't take this wrong but did you ever stop ti think that just because you don't like the tip doesn't mean hour customers want like them! I mean if your customers like them is that not what matters! Just sayn and Apres also now includes half sizes but you have to pay attention to which ones you buy the 600 count has the half sizes!!
