Please be aware that woodturning is a hazardous activity. These videos are only intended to show you what I do - they are not tutorials.

Since I started making these videos in 2017, I have been lucky enough to receive the support of some manufacturers with materials to use in my videos. Since May 2018, Chestnut Products have provided me with stains, an iridescent paints sample set, lacquers and waxes. I'd like to thank them for their kind and generous support. Martin Saban-Smith has provided me with a sample set of Intrinisic Colours.
All other products and tools, unless where indicated, have been bought from suppliers at retail prices. Products mentioned in my videos are for information purposes so that viewers know what I have used.
Great demo and explanation Stewart 👍👍👍
Cheers, Rob! Glad it was helpful!
Love how you share all of your knowledge with other woodturners Stewart! You are very good at explaining the why. I've always found if I know WHY I'm doing something, the job is much easier cuz it makes sense. Thanks for sharing your video with me again. Stay safe, Vickie
You're very welcome, Vickie - glad it was useful!
Enjoyed this as usual. Thanks, john
Cheers, John! Glad you liked it.
Very good Stewart, that was good to see and easier to listen to than Debbie chirping in my ear 😂. How about one on the skew
Haha...thanks, Kevin - glad it was useful! I'm a renowned skew expert....or should that be 'skew-up' expert...will see what I can do!
Thanks for sharing Stewart.
You are very welcome, Jude. Cheers!
Nice video, fundamentals are key
Cheers, Gav!
I have the same roughing gouge that I bought as a set with 2 spindle gouges about 30 years ago in Miami, Fl for around $20.00. Twenty years later I bought a lathe. Cart before the horse.
It's a nice tool....but I do sometimes hanker after a bigger one!
Nice video Stewart...very informative...stay safe...press on 😎 Joe...
Happy Christmas and boxing day🎄🎄🎄
Thanks, Joe - you too!
Hi Stewart, Fantastic video on the SRG. Lots of great and useful information.
Hope you and your family have a fantastic New Year.
Take care.
Cheers, Huw
Thank you, Huw! Glad you enjoyed it....might do on one the skew one day!! Happy new year to you and yours. Cheers!!
Nice introduction to a series perhaps Stewart?😁 Have a great Christmas and New Year!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😎😎😎😎😎
Thanks, you too - Merry Christmas! It may become a series....who knows???
great job
Thank you, Mark. Cheers!
I have seen several demos on using this tool. This is one of the goodest! Seriously the way you explain it then demo it is really spot on. A bit different than thr usual, but welcome. It must be as a part of you teaching communication skills. I look forward to all of your demos. ave a great holiday!
Glad it was helpful, Les! Thank you!! Have a great holiday yourself!
great tips!!
Glad you think so! Cheers!!
Excellent Stewart, very good basic instruction for a beginner. One point I feel you missed was looking at the shape emerging by looking at the top of the turning and not where you are cutting. So will you be going from teaching English to teaching woodturning.
Haha...do you know, I was thinking about that as I was turning it....but maybe there'll be a SRG Part 2! Who knows....never say never.....got to plan my escape from the day job first......
