About the SRGB: You can use the output color module to adjust it to SRGB too! Robbin, I hope this tutorial has given an answer to your question about which settings are best!
Thanks for this tutorial Rico! I had no clue you could make an instapost from your pc. I was always struggling with USB cables, so this will save me a lot of time. One thing though: I would have cropped out the light bulb left under at 6:27. Have a nice day, Stefan Nijenhuis
Hello Stefan, thank you for visiting my channel and leaving a comment. Welcome to my channel! I'm glad this tutorial will help you save time! Great suggestion on the crop! Even though this was just for demonstration purposes, you definitely got a point 😁👍! Thanks again man, much appreciated!
Small correction regarding aspect ratio, Darktable doesn't accept decimals, to get the landdscape aspect ratio we need to use 191:100. You can also edit the file $HOME/.config/darktable/darktablerc to add custom preset, I've added "Insta_landscape"
I am curious how this video is going to perform on your channel. Instagram tutorials on my channel mostly perform better. So your super dark table explanation and a surplus about instagram👊 watched in full for viewtime👍
Same here Otto! Hopefully the video will help a lot of people, gain a lot of users for darktable and get a lot of views! Thank you for your ongoing support!
What if I don't want to crop my image, but instead add a white/black border so that I can post a normal photo sized image to instagram from my desktop?
The border is only to see the colors as if they were appear on IG. However, you can add a frame. Find the module called "Framing" or "Frame" in the group menus or on the right bottom in the: "more modules" list.
Hi Rico What would be the best size to export images for printing. I looked at a few tutorials but it's not to clear everyone says if you leave it at 0 the images will take up a lot of storage
Thank you very much Rico this will be very helpful I'm new to Darktable so far I find it very good to use but it will take a long time for me to master it. Thank you again for your help and for taking the time to reply. I might be pushing my luck if I asked could you do a tutorial on exporting module for printing

@@rybolov They request it :)
Did you apply your Astro style just because it is a night photo, or is that part of your prep for instagram?
Hello Rohn! Welcome to the channel! It's because it's a night photo :).

Where do you want to print it on?
Hi Rico I normally go to a photo print shop I try to stick with fujifilm where you put in memory card or disc etc
I just get the print on print paper I'm not 100% sure what print paper they use in the shop.
For printing you need a minimum DPI of 300
