This is an art form called surface pattern design, with an understanding of clothing construction and a kicker of graphic design. This is not easy money, this is a great application of artistry and skill that has been acquired over time. Good for them.
You’re absolutely right-it definitely takes skill! I gave it a shot for a few hours and eventually decided to pass it along for someone else to tackle.
I’m on it !!!!!!!!!
I think that the real take away from this is that having a unique in-demand product line, that is created using a complicated proprietary process, is a competitive “winning” business strategy. Their success is no accident nor mystery.
Absolutely. I don’t think anyone is taking this on because it’s more challenging, and most prefer the easy route. But let’s be real-the easy route isn’t making $3,000 a day.
@ considering the seller saturation on Etsy in the millions of shops, longterm success is dependent upon creating in-demand products that cannot be easily copied by competitors. For me, I go where nobody else can follow.
100% agree. The same goes for other platforms too-you really have to think outside the box.
well, i designed 2 that I think turned out cute and posted for sale. I'll work on more and see how it goes. Thanks for the ideas and tips. The hoodie version is going to be spendy, but w the holiday season, who knows. If someone is looking for a silly gag gift maybe someone will buy.
That’s exciting! You’re going to have to keep me updated!
@EtsyMentor I will do. Thanks for all the great ideas
AOP items can do well. I do almost all AOP items. If you sell to other countries like Australia, swim suits and the like can sell all year. I niche in color.
That’s awesome!
The shipping costs for these are so high. Which products do you recommend from Printify?
If you’re trying to replicate this company’s success, focus on anything that is AOP (all-over print).
Oh hell. My ADHD brain just got locked in. I will figure it out !
You’ve got one month-after that, if I don't see any, I’m hiring someone to make these so I can take over this market 🫣
You're not the first to mention 'all over print' this week, except the others have only mentioned floral, not gherkins! Now I'm hungry.
I wonder if they read the same article I did. Shopify has all the data, so that $3,000/day is legit. Honestly, if no one jumps on this, I’m going to do it myself!
@@EtsyMentor Crossed my mind. Takes me all day to get one AI image the way I want it!
I hear you! I made one with Peeps on it, but I couldn’t get the heads to align properly.
I have just started one of those!!!! Do you think the print provider is in china?
I’m not sure who this company uses, but Printify offers options for both US and China manufacturers. The China option provides a 48% net profit, which is incredible. Since these products aren’t personalized, once you start receiving consistent orders, you could switch to them and gain even more profit.
I know why I don't sell these on Etsy. Because the AOP stuff comes from China and take longer then Etsy wants the order to take to get to the customer. Let's be honest, even a domestic based POD store is consistently in danger and at the mercy of the print provider and the shipping providers.
Not all of them come from China, but the ones that do tend to yield a higher profit. Plus, since they don’t require customization, you could potentially order in advance as your sales grow and really capitalize on that opportunity.
As I know, it has many suppliers have AOP products but not from China. Printify has many AOP products or if you want to optimize the base cost, you can try suppliers from Vietnam
You just have answer me
I responded 😊
So if no one is selling this on Etsy, why tell us? The choice is "make $3000 a day with this" or a few dollars making a video about it
I literally say why multiple times in the video-I'm not a fashion designer. Shoot me an email, and I’ll send you a link to a good hearing aid.

Lol, people buy serious ugly items nowadays haha. I don't even know if I would have fun designing this myself. And I could probably have it figured out quite fast. But is it fun I ask myself... not sure.
If you can do the creating part, we could launch a business together! I spent way too long trying to figure out the design patterns, lol.
@ Haha yeah good one. I’m still in my baby steps of building my first shop. It’s a long road even for my own designs right now. But I can celebrate my first sale after launch about one month ago whoohooo. And that’s also due to many useful tips on your channel. 🙏🏼
@@EtsyMentorOk where do I find someone to work with like this for real lol? I’m a professional designer and I did GREAT on Etsy 12 years ago but decided to pursue my 9-5 and now I’m just in a different place where I need someone to tell me what to do design and then I can do the visual research and execute, etc. I don’t completely enjoy the process of doing the market and trend research and designing end-to-end on my own.
Are there communities to find this on? Like I don’t need someone to tell me to use Everbee and what product to put it on, I need someone to specifically say “gherkin leggings, trust me” every time there’s a new gherkin leggings trends or whatever. I thought I was good at SEO bc I’m great at it in my 9-5 and consulting but Etsy andnPOD are just a different beast I guess.
It’s quite interesting but I don’t think they have rights for these. There are too many of them. Licensing with major brands is quite expensive. Trump has rights on all his images. Celebrities rarely allow their persona to be used. They have a certain public persona and a whole team of protection of the brand. I may try my hand on a couple of generic ideas. New shiny object syndrome…Thanks a lot 😢😢 Pickles are still a thing 😂
So many copywrite products there.
I’m pretty sure they pay to use those items, especially with celebrities wearing some of their outfits.
