First of all it is a lovely watch and I really like its looks. It's clear to me, mineral crystal is a cost saving measure so I understand why they are doing it. But I'm ruling getting one unless they upgrade it to sapphire. Paying $ 20 more wouldn't be an issue.
I like the dial a lot, and I notice the hands are the correct length now 👍. The case profile looks odd, and is less elegant than their previous 38mm case watches. Good review.
I get what you're saying, but because it's more of a dress style watch you should be ok I think. It's not like you'll be doing stuff where it's likely to get damaged hopefully. But yeah, sapphire would have been nice.
Am I allowed to make a little video observation? The white balance in the studio shots looked a little off - the outdoor shots were great and gave a great idea what the watch looked like. As for the watch, extremely tasteful.
I wish you showed on camera setting the time. My experience with this watch is that there is a lot of lag between the crown and hand movement. If you spin it around, it also doesn't feel smooth.
Beautiful watch. Definitely like that it isn't another diver or Explorer homage. Sharp sporty dress watch. Dig it. Cheers! P.S. When I try to use the link to the watch it takes me to a campaign page??? Just an FYI.
@@HonestWatchReviewsHWR... from the images it almost comes across more like a copper dial. It has been in my cart for a while but you have been the only youtuber whom I have subscribed to who I have seen promoting it for this sale so I refreshed (plus I forget who originally showcased it). Deciding whether to push my funds and pick up four watches or wait to get the 4th in the June summer sale and then 2-3 in the 11.11 sale. The one on the chopping bloc is the v3 Pagani Seamaster homage. @@karlsenula9495 Yeah it changes quite a bit depending on the lighting. It sounds like you've got it all planned out pretty there. I'd love to get a Zelos too myself. But like you said, it's really difficult as they sell out so quickly.
It's a variation of the tongji movement, AKA Chinese standard movement. Sample of one, but I've owned a similar merkur for 2 years, with regular wear. It runs like a top, ~+8 a day since I got it.
My understanding is that it’s a higher quality tonji movement that Merkur check and regulate before the watch leaves the factory. Supposedly these are made in the same factory as San Martin.

Perhaps you could message them and see if they could swap it to sapphire if you pay a bit more.
That is a great looking dress watch and with such a range of colours it could very easily become a habit.
Absolutely. They all look great.

The hands are a good length and look great I think. Thanks for watching.
i think the case is meant to resemble a lot of 40's watches, although i think the lugs should be angled a bit more
@@felixgregory6290 A bit more curative would have been nice. But it still wears well though.
The HR on the dial stands for “Honest watch Reviews”
😆 perhaps one day.
I think the lion on the case back looks like the Merlion of Singapore. Though there are coordinates below it, which aren’t anywhere near Singapore
Ah ok, interesting.
Team gb 💪
Why didn’t you open the case back to show the movement ? Not being a dive watch, no risk of messing with water resistance.
Definitely a looker!
But...
Having a crystal protruding that much from the case _really_ needs sapphire.

You can ask them for a sapphire upgrade but its costly
Lovely Bauhaus style watch. Shame it doesn't have see through caseback cause hand winding movement is usually nice looking.
That would be quite nice.
They were no see through cases backs in the 30’s, so they kept it faithful to the models that inspired this watch.
Am I allowed to make a little video observation? The white balance in the studio shots looked a little off - the outdoor shots were great and gave a great idea what the watch looked like.

Yes of course you are. I always appreciate construction criticism. Thanks I'll bear that in mind for future videos.

Keep looking at the salmon dial
How do you think these would work on a 6.25" wrist?
You'd have to figure out what the limit is in terms of lug to lug for your wrist size. For my 7" wrist it's about 50mm.
I have the salmon one and a 6.5 inch wrist and this wears great. I think it’ll look fine on 6.25.
@@BosworthMcG Thanks for the feedback 👍

Couldn't agree more. I always like to mix things up a bit, or it just gets boring doesn't it?
All salmon dial was already in my cart 👍 ... used your link and reentered it.
Thanks I appreciate that mate. It's a beautiful watch isn't it?

Nice watch. It would have been nice to have seen what movement was in it. If I owned one I would have to lume the hands

I read somewhere the build quality on these is similar to a 3 grand watch and you can pick one up for a few hundred quid
I do like this one I would go for pinks and salmon I expect
You can't really go wrong with any of the colour options I don't think.
I do think somehow the side profile is sub optimal
Nice lookin but weird name Levée meaning risen in French. As a French, it sounds strange.
I guess it could have been worse.

Curious if anyone who has the watch knows the movement?
Some people have said that it's a variation of the Tongji movement, if that helps.
@@HonestWatchReviewsHWR .. interesting I saw somewhere that it is Merkurs own modified movement (not sure what that means 🤷♂️).

If they made it with Quartz or an Automatic, i would.
You're not a fan of manuals then?
I prefer the salmon, but they should have left of the number 6.
The salmon one does look good, but I think they all do.
The small part of the 6 that is left could and probably should have just been removed.
I feel $115 for an Aliexpress watch it better come with sapphire crystal. Dealbreaker for me.
Please buy a better mic
I'm looking to get one. The audio should be better in this latest review though.
