Greetings from the US. I am a new subscriber to your channel which I really enjoy. The firearms culture is really big in the US as you know and it's both interesting and refreshing to see young people from other nations demonstrate their involvement in shooting and hunting sports.
Good shooting. I too shoot a .308, Steyr Ccout with a Nightforce 2-10 scope. The gun has performed well on deer, moose and elk here in Idaho with its 19 inch barrel. The bullet I have found to perform well is a Speer Trophy Bonded Bear claw in 150 grain. Bonded bullets hold together very well on larger game. Good luck hunting with your .308.
I watched the muzzle brake relative to a stone out in front of your shooting position. Once you settled in to begin your trigger pull the muzzle was motionless. You must be a fine shooter.
That MDT ESS chassis is a top tier chassis. Pillar bedded for the receiver and space to free float the barrel for maximum accuracy. Great choice of a chassis. Hope you have a successful year of hunting.
Fine shooting as always Katharina. Have you ever thought about making a video with you, your dad and uncle to see who shoots the tightest group with the same rifle?
Great shooting Kate! Excellent group, of course! You did your job and the chassis did its job-exactly as it's designed! I watched your trigger & squeeze, and you have it adjusted beautifully: no over travel and it breaks like a glass rod! Good luck & good hunting this season!!
Few questions. Is this an annual test? What is the cost to the hunter for this testing. What happens if you fail, can you retake the test?. Also very good shooting and good video.
Sweet grouping. Well done. Perhaps you explained it, and I missed it, but is it necessary to pass a marksmanship test every year to be allowed to hunt deer? Or, were you mainly sighting in your rifle and getting ready for the season?
Do you have Remingtons Xmark pro trigger on that rifle? I was tempted to upgrade the trigger but it's just so light and crisp I decided to leave it alone. And congrats on your test! Awesome shooting!
Just a general comment. Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos. Your presentation style and ability to show skills while entertaining are excellent. Also want to tank you for including your home town and country in these vids. It is absolutely beautiful and has allowed me to see it through your eyes since I doubt I will ever have the pleasure of seeing it with my own. I wish you much success and blessings in your life.
first i have to say katharina that in these days you are wery wery ecxeptional young girl.reloading.shooting.hunting and just right atitude.by the way.im finnish so its a must to ask.ever tested sako rifles?
@@gullintanni is it once you turn 18 or something? We have a hunters safety test in Georgia (US) I think we only have to take it once when we turn 14. And it doesnt even require shooting. It's just a hoop to jump through. They dont care about firearms proficiency whatsoever. Kinda sad really
@@aleksfoxtrot8044 It is every year for anyone above 16 years old. Solo hunting requires the hunter to be at least 18. It is great to test as some hunters would not even sight in their rifles if it was not required to pass the test. Great for animal welfare. You also don't want to shoot a mose in the ass. That can turn ugly real fast.
If you Ever get Deployed to the U.S. to Straighten the Country Out After Civil War Breaks Out You May Not Need to Bring a Weapon Being that there's Over 350 Million Weapons in the Country it's Not Going to be Long Now that's Probably Why you're in the Military .
You have to take a rest evry year? That's crazy. Good shooting, like the rifle, please do a follow up on the chassis I've been thinking about getting one 😁👍👍
@Vidar1860 Do people often fail that test??? "5 shots in a 30cm target at 100meters" doesn't sound like too difficult a standard. Seems more like its geared towards just ensuring people know how to set their scope up.
With the people that shoot each other on public land around where I hunt every year it's definitely a good idea. It's so bad I'm hesitant to do public land hunts. 🖓😠
There's two primary forms of gun licenses in Norway, hunting and sports shooting licenses Hunting requires attending a course and passing a written test, which then lets you purchase up to 6 weapons. The selection of hunting weapons is exclusively long guns, apart from .50 BMG being banned, then only semi-automatic rifles and repeating shotguns have extra restrictions. Shotguns are restricted in capacity (5 rounds total iirc) and have some "assault weapon ban" esque restrictions, rifles are restricted to a small list of weapons that is currently being shrunk further. Sports licenses on the other hand give you more specific licenses. Joining DSSN gives you access to handguns, and eventually semi automatic rifles (again, from a list, separate from the hunting rifle list), requiring active participation over extended periods in order to get permits (6 months for handguns, around a year i think for rifles) Other than that there are some rules regarding storage (bolted safe, hidden key and the likes) and transport (concealed without vital part or ammunition inserted in the gun) Getting a gun is really just about not having been or getting in trouble with the law, and participating in the clubs that give you access to permits
Who could possibly thumbs down someone wanting to make sure they have the most proficient & ethical harvest possible?
Most likely a butt-hurt snowflake.
vegans who would rather starve animals to death by eating their food

Good to see other nations practicing with arms!
Wow! Wish we had fancy targets like that in the US!
You're a great shot, but we already knew that. That's a very nice looking rifle.
Would be more nice looking if it was a Tikka t3x :)
