Only a humble person like Dr Michael Henson can show this video about him self. I love seeing a great life of a Dr. One thing is missing is a family it would be more Intresting.
That's how my kids n I do baths just with less water in the Tub so it's easier to lather up the whole dog and we let the flea shampoo stay on 5 to 15 minutes to kill the buggies. Your Amazing Doc. So glad you adopted. Look us up on FB Critters 4 U 2 Love Animal Rescue, Rehabilitation & Re-Homing group in North Carolina near Cherokee.
I love that you rescued an older pup! He has a second chance at life and you guys look like the perfect pair! Congratulations on your new family member!
I lost my old boy, Max 💔🐶 three months ago. I miss him so much. I plan to visit our animal shelter (SPCA) soon. I want to adopt the oldest dog they have. There is something just so special about an old dog.
My thought exactly. People always want a puppy, but an older dog can be awesome. I met an older woman walking a very big full blooded airdale. He was so great on the leash, very calm and sweet natured, and it turns out he was 13 years old and she adopted him a couple years before that. She said he was the best dog she'd ever had.
@@dreamingrightnow1174 As SOON as finances permit, I will be adopting the oldest dog I can find at our SPCA (society for the prevention of cruely to animals) Hoping before Xmas time. I recently lost my old boy, Max 💔🐕...he was 18 years old and I had the privilege of having him in my home for 4 short years. (I was his 3rd owner) Max was a kind and gentle soul, white Labrador cross BUT what an amazing protector!!! One night last year he chased a criminal right back out the window that he broke in through. There is just something SO Special about an old dog. It's been almost 6 months since my Max has been gone and I still cry. I don't feel safe since he's been gone. 🤦💔
@@lindalogan8460 You must have been taking really good care of him to get to that age. He sounds great. I don't understand why some people give up their dogs casually. Sorry to hear he's gone, but I'm glad for whoever you adopt next.
@@dreamingrightnow1174Hello 🤗 It boggles my mind how some people can just casually give away their pet for no reason but there are times when they might have no choice. I've adopted a bird and a dog from two different friends who were terminally ill. It must be very confusing for the little animal, Shame. I just gave them as much love as I possibly could when they came to live with me. Thanxxx for your kind message God bless 🙏 (Sending Love from Eastern Cape, South Africa 💕🌍)
A year ago that was--I don't know how I found this, as it had nothing to do with pandemics or riots. But it was great, because it's exactly the heartwarming and relaxing thing I needed at the end of a tough day. Thank you!
I don’t subscribe to that mindset and it’s not a beneficial one if one were to want domesticated dogs to continue to exist as a species. “Adopt or Shop Responsibly” is what I support. Get the dog you want and need from a reputable source (because there are “retail rescues” as well..).
Rescues are great but a bunch of work and costly!!!! My ex left me and I have one dog with diabetes (my partners dog) and he had one eye removed. Then I also have a rescue my kids cried for and he eat everything and I cried because he need two surgeries and my mom helped me pay for him to be saved!!! Rescues are for people that have the money. Sad to say.
Mike when you give that cute pooch a bath if you use baby shampoo (on the head only) you can avoid the sting in the eyes and that works very well for the dog because their heads can get greasy because everyone LOVES to pat a dog on their head!!!! Sometimes when they get soap in their eyes that can be a reason that they don't enjoy their baths, but he did GREAT for his first one! He's a keeper for life!
I am SO happy that you adopted. I have been volunteering at my local rescue shelter for a year....we really need people to stop buying dogs. There are so many dogs who deserve to be in homes and feel loved.
No, let people get the dog THEY want and need. It’s what actually helps keep dogs in their homes. We can not sustain the healthy existence of domesticated dogs if the only people who “bred” them were those who have no business doing so, only care about profit without also caring about the health of the species for generations to come. Also, breed rescues, who help save a lot of dogs, were invented by responsible breeders, and they don’t also take in purebreds of their chosen breed, but also cross breeds including their breed. 😉
I love this channel! I'm a rescue mom of 9 and l feel blessed every day I get to spend with my babies! I live life for my rescues. In return, they make my life awesome!
Awe, such a cutie. So enjoyed watching Legend play. Dogs are the best. They wag their tails and not their tongues. The only creature that loves his human more than himself. May the two of you have a very happy companionship. Watching from South Africa.
Well Mike... You hit a home run with your 1st video about your life beyond the MD... Since I'm old enough to be your mom... I can say this... I love you for choosing him! In May of 2005, I met a guy in the PetSmart parking lot. He was leaving and I was going in. I commented to him about what a beautiful puppy he had. His eyes lit up as he said, "REALLY"!?! Do you want him? I was just leaving here to take him to the shelter. Been here all day trying to give him away, and my wife said to not bring him home." I asked him what breed he was. He was an 8 wk old half Rott, half Pitt. His mom was a solid white Pitt. I asked the guy, did he realize that they would have immediately put him down, almost before he could have walked back out the front door? In that town, there were 5 breeds that if determined to be more than 50% of one of them, they put them down. Even the puppies. And this puppy was 50/50 of two of the five breeds. I named him Isaac. He ended up being my beautiful brindle coated, 100 lb respiratory service dog by the time he was 5 1/2. It's a very beautiful story, but long, so I'll skip all the details. But of note, between 2004 and the end of 2010 I avg'd 5 - 7 hospitalizations/yr. Over the next 5 yrs, I had none. All because he figured it out and figured out how to tell me I was fixing to go off the deep end (I have lung disease). Isaac died of old age at 12 1/2 Dec. 19, 2016. It took 2 years, but I adopted another one. A little 35 lb brindled mixed breed, but you can TOTALLY see the pit in him! He thinks the whole world loves him, and if it doesn't... it should! Shelter dogs are usually the best dogs. They seem to know that you got them out of a jam... From there on, they will love you forever it you treat them right! Mike, I really hope that you and Legend have many, many wonderful yrs together! And by the way, no one else looked at him, because... well, he was your dog to begin with! ;-)
I agree with you. Thank you for such a heart warming story. I too had one rescue, and he would bop me on the head and wake me up if my blood sugar was low while I was sound asleep. He rescued me in more ways that one too. My rescue dog I have now seems to know when my ptsd has been triggered. They certainly do understand more about us than we do ourselves sometimes. Be well and love to your dog.
Good for you for adopting the dog! Safety tip, he should ride in the back seat, in case you need to stop quickly. By the way, many pitbulls also love swimming. All the Best from a former adopted dog owner.

There are some great pets out there waiting to be rescued. All mine except one have just showed up and kept coming back til I vetted and named them! The cat I have now chose me at the shelter. I went in with a plan, came out with the young cat who jumped from top shelf onto my shoulder! MissMightyMouser is 10 now, likely to be my last pet. I'm 70, don't want to leave behind pets no one will want. By all means, visit some shelters and see who might be waiting for you. Some shelters welcome volunteer walkers, etc.

THANK YOU for getting a shelter dog!! They're the best anyway! I have Kobe, a beautiful bull mastiff / boxer mix! He's almost 8yrs now. My other rescue dog Echo is a Boston terrier / Pitbull. She's 4. They're the greatest joy! Again, thank you for saving his life. I think you boys were destined for each other!
I am glad he's adopted a stray dog. People go crazy about buying expensive pets when it's even better to give a stray one the chance to be happy once again.
Doctor Mike and Legend...looks like bff's for life! The happiest and most freeing moments in my life came from my little fur babies with the love and devotion they have shown. They will require you feed them, walk with them, clean up after them, play with them, and eventually sleep next to them. In return they will love you unconditionally, protect you, eagerly await your return by the gate or door at the end of each day, communicate with you through their eyes, ears, and facial expressions, and even sing quirky little songs with you. The best time is when they lay their head against your chest to merely listen to your heart beat. I believe they are truly some of the best medicine available for mankind. Congrats to you both and many blessings to follow.
A man after my own heart. A dog lover is a good thing but a rescuer is an angel on earth. I want to follow his story. Have you thought of fostering a companion for him? The only way to know what he is is to do a DNA test. I mean, the tail alone speaks volumes.he might even have Border Collie or Australian shepherd. Welcome to Legend!

Legend looks exactly like my rescue dog Cookie, same shape, grey markings on chin, chest and toes, same face, ears, etc. They told me she was black lab mix as well, after doing a DNA test it showed she was more Blue Heeler and Chow, some lab, only 10% pit. I think the Chow is where she gets the curled tail..and attitude 😊 She loves to swim in the pool and teaches other dogs where the steps are for safety...she's like a life guard! I bet your dog has some heeler, given that gray chest and toes, too cute 😍
With your serious looks never thought you'd have a soft side for dogs esp shelter dogs! Legend is such a lucky boy to have you as a doting dad. We always tell anyone adopt a shelter dog share your home. You're a kind doctor thanks for adopting Legend ♥️
This is such a great video. You may have saved hundreds of people's lives, but Legend's adoption saved his life too. You have earned your wings!!! It shows you are a passionate dog owner as am I, also. I can't believe someone left him behind. Their loss and your gain. He's a luck boy. Congrats.
Thanks for such a refreshing video that had us ooo and awww and smiled the entire time. Doc, remember Legend picked you, you didn't pick him. He needs you, so keep up the good work and train him as a therapy dog so he can go with you to the hospital every day. Nothing breaks a dog's heart more than being left alone at home while you're working long hours! All the best to you and your gorgeous pup. Our family loves Legend! My husband and I had a black lab for 13 years loved him so much, Legend reminds me of him. 💗
He's so cute. Glad he was rescued. He looks happy.
animals will always give you unconditional love
Best first video EVER! Congrats to you both!
Awww! Legend is so cute.
Sweetest video ever! Legend looks happy in his forever home. ❤️
Hi,good yo see you and legend running.bye glohouluhan
What a beautiful baby. Thank you for adopting him. He absolutely loves you 💜
Thank you for posting videos like this...😍
I am glad he's adopted a stray dog. People go crazy about buying expensive pets when it's even better to give a stray one the chance to be happy once again.
You have a wonderful friend there, Dr Mike!! I loved watching you two together after my shift at the hospital today. 😀
I got a puppy during the pandemic, he has improved both my mind and mood. You wont regret it, they are very loyal and supportive.
Wow, this video is so awesome to watch! Legend is alive and smart like a well trained football player 👏🏼! Thanks for sharing.
Oh my goodness Dr Mike, this is too sweet!!!!! 😊
Thank you for adopting! Rescued is the best breed.
Congratulations for adopting Legend and giving him a wonderful home! 💗 This video made my day! I love Legend’s Aussie accent. ☺️
I LOVE HIM! So glad you adopted him. He's precious!
LEGEND - The Talking Dog! What a lucky dog, happy dad, made me smile! Thank you Dr. Hanson! : )

doctor mike, are those arabic words/phrases tattoos in your right & left shoulders? what do they mean?
Hi Doctor 😍
😍 Legendary you both are, now that you have each other. He's gorgeous Mr Hansen. Great companions in the making. Congratulations taking the leap 💯
I bet your dog has some heeler, given that gray chest and toes, too cute 😍
we have 2 adopted dogs!♥️
He's sooooo sweet!!! Thank God you adopted him!
Sweet lord that is adorable. good on ya. You've got a big heart.
With your serious looks never thought you'd have a soft side for dogs esp shelter dogs! Legend is such a lucky boy to have you as a doting dad. We always tell anyone adopt a shelter dog share your home. You're a kind doctor thanks for adopting Legend ♥️
So adorable. So glad you found each other. Have a wonderful life together😘🤗❤
You guys are a match made in heaven!😍 Looking forward to many more fun videos!👍👍
