I am from America . I am really happy to see your work to expose people like this on web and make awareness among people. I havd already shared this *STRONG WIDGET* to all my foreign friends and ask them to share to others. Thank you again please keep the good work. Thank you again.
The amount of bravery this took was INSANE. These people all had their lives in danger, but still decided to go through with the recovery for the sake of busting bad scammers. True respect *Strong widget!* If the FBI was half as dedicated and ingenious (and honest) as you guys are, the USA would be a much safer country. Amazing work!
Hearing these people's voices over the phone so thrilled to be evil, almost giddy sounding, is utterly disgusting. Thank you *STRONGWIDGET* all you and your team does to shut them scammers down.
Sorry you had to go through that mate. Was an emotional reading your comments because i am currently in same situation. Thanks for sharing Now i have some hope of recovering back my bitcoin.
I genuinely believe this will be one of the best recovery to ever cross the platform. The difference in content compared to what other agents push out really made this service Exciting, Unique, and Fun all at the same time. Congrats *Strong widget* , Bro shoutout to these guys man being consistant every day and making the start of the week alot better making banger success big up
First sign of a scammer is THEY ASK YOU FOR MONEY! Don't do it! I commend this woman cause she didn't have to do this and warn anyone. Thank you for that.
@@Saffeyah of course we shouldn’t! Men are natural providers, if they ask a woman they are supposedly romantically interested in for money, something is up! Major red flag! 🚩
You guys brought tears to my eyes seeing this. I hate what these scammers are doing to our citizens and no one was doing anything about it. Please keep up the good work *STRONGWIDGET* and I'm willing to be on the battle front of this madness. You guys gave me hope for humanity. You are all absolute heroes. I saw a comment where someone said they should do tv award on you. Not only would people watch, they would be addicted to it. It would educate millions of people on Internet safety.

I've been dating someone for almost a year and neither one of us has had deep discussions about each other's finances. These losers start discussing it right away.
True. I dated a man for 5 months, real life, in person. After 5 months, he tried to squeeze money out of me. I told him that I wasn't going to give him any money. I would treat for dinners & lunches, put gas in his car, just, no cash. A month later, he tried again to get money from me for a reason he gave that I found to be a big lie. Although it hurt to let go of him, I knew that it was time. I took him out for dinner, brought with me any gift he had given to me. I gave the gifts back to him, wished him well I was crying & hurting for a long time after that. I got through it.
I'm well up in my 60s, when I was young pre/internet crimes like this were called " lonely hearts crime". I think this says it all. Nothing ever changes, just the magnitude.
Because people are so damn dependant on their computers, it doesn't occur to these geniuses to get off your butt, leave your house & actually converse with real people.
She didn't want to be a "one night stand or a notch in someone's bedpost" but she was willing to get used for money, and get conned out of $100,000!!?? I think that is infinitely worse than those other options she was worried about.
i wonder if she gave him 100k in a lump sum. they didn't describe how the payout occurred, or what was the mechanics. was it a loan or a gift, did he ask her for more and she kept paying, what was the hook. all she said was something vague about his supposed kid. i just want to know what some people will believe. i guess if biden won, there must be a whole lot of dummies out there.
Insecurity, wanting love so desperately, wanting a relationship. Their need to be accepted far outweighs any logical and critical thinking. Love just takes over.
There is someone for everyone I see it all the time in real life, the mall the grocery store. The problem is that some people who have a less desirable dating pool like the idea that some super handsome or beautiful person is attracted to them so they get swept away. They like the idea and fantasy that some super hot suave guy wants them damn well knowing that in their everyday life it’s not as realistic. Harsh truth. So when it’s online they can live out their fantasy. Honestly, these people usually fall victim to this because of superficial reason regardless of what they tell the public. Desperation is a bitch
The bravery you showed is nothing short of extraordinary. With their lives on the line, you fearlessly took on the challenge of retrieving their stolen assets from the fraudsters. Your actions command deep respect, *Stalwart-Redeem* If law enforcement operated with even a fraction of your commitment and creativity (and integrity), the USA would be a far safer place. Incredible work!
He is truly exceptional, and his tools are so impressive that I occasionally wonder if he’s even human, haha. The bottom line is that *Stalwart-redeem* is the ultimate expert in recvering from scaams.
This is actually what happened to me some weeks ago after falling for a binary option scam but I was able to report to the right person *Stalwart-redeem*
Sadly she referred to this scenario as a ‘relationship’ and the truth be told, there’s no such thing as a relationship until you spend physical time together! Bless her heart! I’ve used online dating sites that are very scary as I look back. Be so careful!!
Welcome to the cyber world where you work, bank, worship, and communicate with people you never met in person. We've been forming these virtual relationships with people since they invented telephones and moving pictures 🤣
During the grooming process, they can make you actually feel like you've met the person, and have a proper relationship with them. I know because that happened to me. I cut them off when they started hinting that I might send them so money. But I'm not so arrogant to criticise those who don't have that awareness.
Ya they do. They just disagree and refuse to stop giving their lover money. They feel compelled to continue giving money. If they don’t, their lover will get angry, suffer from lack of medical care, or something else too horrible for them to believe.
Some do! I had a friend like that! We kept telling her but she was right & we were all wrong! She was OK to cut her friendship with us but not her 'relationship' . At the end she was out 50k before she figured it out !
@@dr.ellieabdi9540 I had a friend in the same situation, whatever you tell them is a lie because their love would never con them. I tried a few times in as nice a way I could and the way she screamed at me with such venom was unbelievable. In the end you have to just cut yourself off cause it's so hard to listen to the crap they tell you. I've not spoke to her for maybe 4 years and don't know what the situation is but I would never go back to the abuse she gave me.
The minute a guy asks me for money, he is deleted!!! I have been there , he romanced me and one day he asked me to pay for his ticket him, because he was beaten in a foreign country. I said sure let me get my wallet, who do I make the check out to " Nigeria" you messed with the wrong woman !!!
I had one that I flipped it on and told him I sent it and had them going back and forth to pick it up with a fake pick up number…😂😂😂 … I thought he would catch on after the 2nd or third time. He kept calling for like a week asking me to fix the pick up number. I got tired of scamming the scammer and finally told him to F off and blocked! 😂😂
Well, they do tell the client (“victim”) that they’re filthy rich, but their money is “tied up.” There always a promise of much-more money later, if they give them money now. She did not say, but I have heard and read enough of these to know that there is ALWAYS greed of the client (“victim”) involved. Always. She also did not say, but I would suspect this man told her he is quite younger than she, and that “age is just a number,” and stole photos that show him as beautifully handsome. He then told her that “looks don’t matter. It’s what’s on the inside that counts,” lol.
Not to be an A-hole.. but she set her expectations too high..Did she honestly think she could "bag a rich guy"?..Much less a foreign one?? And if so.. what were the drawbacks on this "dreamboat" ?? The difficult truths too many ignore is there are very few Cinderellas and Snow Whites.. even fewer "princes" that could strolling by into your lives... but are you worthy???
@@blissfullyme2815You are telling me this woman never once thought twice about sending $100,000 to someone she had never met. I get falling for the sweet words but how did she fall for giving him the money. If it was a business trip why did he have his son with him!
First sign was the accent, 2nd was international person, 3rd is never seeing the actual person in person, 4th is asking for a dime for the scammer or for the scammee to invest/purchase something. Ladies also don't say specifically what your looking on a dating site or on the first date. This is how someone can conform to what you want and not show you who they really are, thus deceiving you.
A good sign is also that we all know what society deems attractive in terms of physicality and race. If you suddenly have all kinds of attention from someone and you are not part of the group deemed attractive....beware.
My sister got scammed out of 15,000 and everyone told her it was a scammer and yet she continued. To this day she still spends all her time texting and talking to scammers for 3 years and still going strong. This is a mental disorder for women that are desperate for attention. My sister I feel knows she is being scammed but in her head, she feels it's worth it to have someone tell her they love her that way.
There MUST come a point when the victim is no longer a victim but is, in fact, a Volunteer to the deception. Realistically speaking, why the heck would a much younger attractive male be interested in an older woman ? We are talking about men with either a 6-pack and/or exciting professions worldwide. WHY would any woman not ask herself why her on line beau has so much TIME on his hands, are in love with you when you've never even met, lead drama filled lives what with locked out bank accounts, teenage children requiring an i-phone replacement, accidents at work yadda yadda yadda.
That is SO interesting but it makes sense that someone is literally paying for that affection/attention. Omg i have a close friend who just went through this scam. Before she knew it was a scam, I knew it.
@@gone.golfingThe headline title for the video says “Woman ‘loses’ $100k after falling victim to online dating scam”. The poster said she is fixing the title to say the woman didn’t “lose” the money, she “gave away $100k”. Get it?
I swear, I really wish they would portray this correctly. None of these strangers steal the money. It is given away willingly! It’s so embarrassing that I can’t believe anyone agrees to be interviewed about it.
Dudes that ask women for money at the beginning of relationships are losers. I'm a dude. That being said, this is 100% the women's fault - unless he (or his friends) used a gun and robbed you, or held you against your will. I'll say, women scamming men out of money the usual line of business. Via onlyfans, strip club, gold digging, russian bridal websites, alimony, and many more... When dudes get scammed it is 100% the man's fault unless the women (or her friend) hold's him unwillingfully - (drugged and robbed, invited to hotel room and her boyfriend comes out and robs him, ect)...
It's not a man thing. Anyone asking you for money is a red flag. Do you know how many women interested in me online have asked me for money? They immediately lost interest when I wouldn't send any. All of them weren't fake accounts. Some women just feign interest in men because they want money
🎯🎯🎯 women need to make it a solid rule never give money to men. If someone has a sudden emergency they should be savvy enough to work it out without asking someone they are dating. They don't have friends or family? 🤷♀️

Predators also look for large ladies, with low self esteem and very little experience with dating. They prey on these vulnerable women who are lonely. This lady is very strong and courageous for speaking out. Well done.
And very old woman. A 64yo woman in Brazil sent 35k BRL to a good looking 20-something yo; he was a nigerian scammer of course with fake pics. The lady was retired, she took loans, can't barely aford food now.
i'm a size 8 and pretty darn attractive, judging wrong again, you people are hilarious with your judgements and we know better syndrome, i'd rather be me any day than you even if I had a lesson or 2 to learn about how horrid society really is, catcha!
People just don't learn, never SEND money to people you have never met and don't even know. I also want to add, most of these are located in Asia and Nigeria. Plenty of videos American businessmen have offices in the Philippines recruiting people to prey on victims. Nothing knew been going on for years.
Yes, but they are getting better and better. I almost got scammed and they had my head spinning. It was a learning experience but it can happen to anyone.
There are plenty of people here in America that will scam you, too. Just make sure you don’t give money to anyone, even if they tell you the saddest story you’ve ever heard.
_Quick Rico Tech_ , *I genuinely appreciate your dedication to helping people who’ve fallen victim to these scams. Recovering lost funds can seem impossible, but seeing the positive outcomes and real stories here gives hope to so many. Keep up the incredible work!*
I have received quite a number of requests to want to get to know me. The story is always the same, widowed with a child, working on an oil rig. I responded one time telling them I had 10 kids and was looking for a husband…they never called back🤣🤣
It's so funny how these men always have kids. Even if these tales were real I wouldn't accept it...Why is it okay or attractive for men to have baggage and mothers are considered damaged goods? I have no kids so I don't want yours, not my responsibility!
She must have known something was fishy about the financial aspect of her relationship with the scammer or she would not have hidden it from her friends.
It’s her own fault. Why would you give money to a stranger you never met, especially $100,000. The first time he asked for money she should’ve deleted him. 😯
You are either young and naive, or just an ignorant person. It's been shown that virtually anyone can be groomed and scammed in this way, at vulnerable times in their lives. I'm sorry for you that you have no sense or compassion in your soul. You are worse off than she is.
@@diane4488 no she's just pointing out that some people have no common sense and are beyond desperate. You know the old saying "a fool and his money......."
I completely agree.. I would never give or lend anyone that kind of money .. especially not some guy online lol people play victim but in reality they are gullible and believe the sad sob stories strangers say over the internet.. they deserve what they get especially now a days in the world we live in . Unless your married to them and or they’re family then and only then can you trust someone with that kind of money and even in some of those situations you can never 100 percent fully trust . .
Stop trying to appease her and make it seem like she’s not stupid and it could happen to anyone. I wouldn’t even loan my own brother $1000 without having some sort of collateral or guaranteed way of getting it back. You are the gate keeper for your money. It’s not everyone else’s responsibility to make sure you’re spending it responsibly.
Thank you for saying that cause that’s how I felt too. This woman is a complete moron. She’s completely delusional and frankly it looks like she likes the attention.
I ONLY loan to my brother who is like a twin to me and I know would bail me out if I was in trouble too. I do help other people now and then but not strangers...and it is pure charity, I don't expect 'love" from them.
You don’t loan any amount of money you can’t afford to lose. I’ve loaned money that I never got back. It didn’t break me by any means, but it was the last time that individual got any funds from me.
Although she appears extremely intelligent and well-spoken, she is extremely gullable. I could smell that scam as she relayed the story. Her emotional vulnerability left her exposed. Who TF wires $10K to an invisible would be lover. Let's be honest....you haven't found love yet somehow, a handsome Australian off shore oiler chooses you but can't afford to support his son...and that doesn't raise your red flag? They target individuals who appear apologetic, desperate, and insecure in the profiles.
If you are a good person, who had suffered much, you hope one day you meet someone special, and by now, you know the perfect package isnt going to present itself. Dont shame this woman. Shame on you. Its a shame we have people preying on people. Its a shame we hear “law of attraction” and things like love yourself and so when you finally DO love yourself and feel worthy, expecting good things to come because you put in work and went through a lot. If it worked out, it would be a non issue. But some of us are used/abused, just watching others have love and lives that we hope to one day have, knowing we will have to sacrifice this or that, knowing life wont hand you someone perfectly. We do the work we are asked or told to do. Then bullshit shows up to court us. Its really not fair. Brainwashed with movies and tv shows, brainwashed with “love yourself first” and any other bad advice. That maybe after years of hell and being alone, that you could have something, someone… venture into feeling worthy. And bam. Its truly horrible because it stems from being treated poorly as a child and a pattern that is truly hard to break. This woman is lucky she had friends and found real support. Dont shame her. Some people are out here doing their best, and dont see it coming, because their minds and hearts could never think that way. And when you DO think that way… its a horrible reality anyway. “Yeah what do you expect” type attitude really pisses me off because it shows how accepted scandal is in society. How prevalent.
Western union and money Graham responsible? That's almost as ridiculous as sueing McDonald's for making you fat. People need to take responsibility for their "" mistakes '' and or actions.
I know an older guy who actually fell for several scams. He is not at all a wealthy guy but he sent what he could from the money he made from his job. He even sent at least one laptop. They also got him as a mule to move money within the bank and he got arrested. He was released after a few days when they saw he was just a gullible guy and not a mastermind. That was a few years ago and last year he received thousands of dollars from a Western Union class action lawsuit. It was over $20,000.00. I guess being stupid pays. I agree with you, though. Individuals should take responsibility.
@@emmel4fun I'm actually glad he recovered some of his losses and pray he has learned a very expensive lesson. I'm surprised they had to pay only because they have signs posted at every location with all the scam info and on the form you have to fill out it specifically asks you if you are sending money to someone over seas that you've never met.. and they ask if someone you've never met is asking you to spend money. You actually have to answer the questiond to complete the wire
Right. I used to work at a grocery store at the service desk and one of the things I had to do was run the customer service desk. During training, they flat out told us that whenever we suspect someone getting scammed, we need to discretely file a SAR report on the individual when we suspect someone is being scammed. This in effect blocks and bans the sender and receiver from wiring and getting money. What she probably was doing was going from store to store to avoid detection and this is why she was never flagged in the system. It wasn’t until 3-4 years ago that now we can see on our end the transaction history of the customer to prevent this from happening. If he’s from Australia and has an African sounding name and accent, she should’ve walked away.
ugh my mom lost $22,000 over the course of 4 months to a fake man named Rafael, and put us in complete ruins. this has destroyed our lives and we're now trying to dig ourselves out of the massive hole this "person" has left us in
Salina ... really a shame that your mother fell for this con artist . Especially the fact that you feel it ruined everything and put you in a hole . Sorry but it sounds like she put romance with a stranger first over family and home ... wow I feel so bad for you I really do . I hope somehow you are able to get Justice and get your money back
I'm sorry this happened to your family. I hope good things come your way so you can be free from that hole as soon as possible. My mom fell for it too. $700 in gift cards for a 'package at the airport'. From the 'widow with a child' to the 'military man needs money' she fell for it all. No matter how many times my husband and I warned her it was a scam, it didn't matter. She had super low self esteem at the time due to being divorced from my father recently and nobody could convince her it was a scam. She called us crying one day saying she couldn't pay rent and was going to be kicked out of her place. We paid her rent with the condition that she would never again send money to someone she had never met before. She's been very careful since but it put a strain on our personal relationship for a while. It's hard to watch it happen to someone you love dearly, especially when they won't listen to reason.
I lost $40k in romance scam I lost everything I saved in 10 years I worked in low low minimum wage jobs 4$ in hours.. when covid hit he stole all my money and run to his country Algeria and he send a porn video of me without me knowing to my company and I lost my job and my family
I cant continue to listen to her, you over looked all the Red flags..... you had a low self-esteem of yourself, or you would of NEVER sent him money without ever meeting him.
Rosalie Avila ... she never explained how he got the money from her though ... we never got to hear the story ... that's what I came for and I never got to hear what was the first amount of money she gave him and what he kept asking and saying that made her give that much money away
I had someone who attempted to do the exact same things with the almost exact same story. He was from Italy living in L.A. His wife died 2 years previously he had a daughter who was living with his father when he had to go on jobs. He was some kind of advisor for the oil industry. His latest job would bring in $3 million. I was always on the skeptical side because I had heard of scammers. He had contacted me through Twitter. He wanted to start talking through some other option to which I declined. Finally came the day where he asked me to help his daughter buy school books because his credit card was cancelled and he was waiting for the new one. I told him off and blocked him. I've learned the signs to look for because these guys are out there and always trying.
Experienced with the guy, who claimed to live in US. He went for a business to UK and suddenly his son was very sick. Asked me to send $3000US but to his nanny. Haha. I 'dumped" him. I love my money more than men.

If I am average looking and a guy extremely good looking is interested in me, all alarm bells go off, red flags all over. Usually people are close to the same on the attractiveness scale!
THANK YOU! I've said it before and I'll say it again: there are benefits with being ugly. I'm not good looking and the few times a pretty woman approached me, I immediately knew the only interest they had in me was separating me from my money. In every case, I was correct. It's harsh, but if you're not good looking, you already know it. No sense fooling yourself. If Scarlett Johansson is talking to you and you're 51, balding and have a beer belly and don't work out, you're being scammed.
There’s a simple way to avoid falling for these scams - don’t use online dating. If a liar can lie to your face imagine how much easier it is to lie online.
Especially when they are keeping all the lies they are telling you. Straight and apart from all the lies they are telling 30 other women/men, they are talking too.
And did you notice she said more than once "We were in this relationship". So she naively thought that she was in, an actual relationship with someone that she had never met! So wrong. And after all these years of this happening, and all of us knowing about it. Why oh why do people still do this!
And she talks about his “business” and his “son”. She has been scammed but still believes some of his story. Nothing this person said to her was true. There was no romantic relationship, no son, no business trips. It was all a means to an end. I watch the Catfished stories and they all talk like this. When it’s over and they have lost tens of thousands of dollars they still seem to believe there was at a time a mutual love and they were some big wig engineer with a lot of bad luck. Mostly the scammed person is in very deep and it likely takes years for them to return to their full senses.
I saw her on another channel. It was a combo of totally emptying out her all her 401k, savings, and she also took out loans and maxed out credit cards. It’s unbelievable. I wouldn’t have done that for friends and family I’ve known my whole life , much less a stranger I’ve never met before.
I know a lady, here in Nz, on single moms benefit, who went as far as withdrawing her kiwisavwr for a guy she will never meet. Tried to ask some helpline of they could help her but since she was an adult and sending money on her own accord there was no criminal activity involved and there was nothing nobody could do about it. Oh well, I went back to my laptop and continued coding away 😂😂
In most of these instances I have seen, the person being targeted for fraud is physically less attractive than the person they believe to be their potential love interest. Having healthy self esteem is fine, but one should honestly ask themselves, is this person typical of those who are normally romantically interested in me in my everyday life?
@Endless Nameless I had never thought of that! (lol) Now that I've completed my 60th revolution around the Sun, my childhood male friends who literally stopped traffic with women hanging out of windows gawking, are every bit as invisible as I am. Am I a bad person for finding some solace in that? (lol)
Yes this I agree with. I think it is a sense of arrogance that they probably ignored more normal unremarkable people in favour of some dreamboat because they have a heightened view of how attractive they are and what they are owed. When you are older you are lucky if you find a new relationship. Nothing is guaranteed. Go for somebody normal. Don't go for the dreamboat that you think you deserve. It is arrogance.
exactly. and the scammers know that. and i feel that is a big reason women look online. they have been unsuccessful meeting men in real life and that is too bad but then they go online and some guy with a gorgeous photo starts love bombing them and they are madly in love. i don't believe they don't know that the guy in the photo isn't the real guy nor that a guy that looks like that is going to be searching for them. they enjoy the fantasy, they get caught up in it to the point of addiction and then are willing to pay to keep it going. it's so unhealthy and sad but I'm sorry, i don't believe they aren't aware of what is happening.
That's why I didn't feel this was the best journalism because she didn't explain how much she gave the first time she helped him ... doubtful she gave him the full $100,000 right up front . ... so it would have been nice to hear more of the whole story of how he conned her out of the full amount ... but we never got to hear what really happened
She didn't have that money. She went into debt for him and eventually had to file for bankruptcy. These scammers promiss you they pay you back (and even more). They show you how rich they are, pictures of their beautiful big house, their bank statements with millions on them etc. But they ask for money because (again and again) something has happened to them that prevents them from accessing their own money at that moment. And vulnerable people full of love hormones fall for their smooth talk s.a. "I love you so much, you are the love of my life, I want to marry you etc. etc. There are people who sell their house, take out loans, etc. for these scammers until they find themselves on the street. These scammers are scum of the earth. But I don't understand why people go this far for a stranger. Are they desperate for attention, for love ?? They probably think they have found a rich, handsome woman/man??
The way I'm so stingy, I'm not giving a love interest money, I would have offered prayers and prayed he found a way....😅😂 God is a better provider than me...
Story after story, and while I want to be sympathetic to these women...they seem so desperate that they have suspended any common sense and logic. They are willfully ignorant.
Listening to these stories, I keep thinking the fantasy is already in the victim's mind, she treasures it, and the scammer just activates it. People really scam themselves.
Talk shows are now overflowing with women who : are out of shape, have not seen a hairdresser and colorist, are middle aged to elderly. Their ignorance about how the modern world operated announces to the scammer that they are waiting to be victimized and humiliated. How often do we hear, “ I don’t know how gift cards work, “ “ He had to pay a VAT.” His son attends a prestigious school in Cairo,” “ the hospital wouldn’t discharge him until he paid his bill.” When, oh when have we heard of a hospital holding a patient hostage? And the absolute kicker, “ My Queen,”. Before sending money, Take a good look at yourselves, ladies! Please
This trick is soooo old. About 25 years ago I was also approached by a scammer. At that time it was still unknown, also for me. He soon asked for money. I immediately said that I would not give money to a stranger. Then I got one last message in which he tried to work on my guilt. To which I replied that he had a problem and not me. I then reported him on the dating side. Please people, use your common sense, in real life AND online.
One of the biggest scams are 90 day fiancé. I’ve watched people spend thousands of dollars on someone that they believe loves them only to find out they just wanted a green card. My heart goes out to anyone who’s been victimized. Blessings to everyone with health and happiness 👠
You are acting like they are victims? Do you really think they are so naive that they go on that show not knowing there is a good chance that those potential partner's first and maybe only goal is to get a greencard?
a friend of mine brought a girl from Thailand he had met there years before. He married her and when she was in USA and got her American citizenship, she stole all the money in his bank account and moved to his neighbor's house... but there is more: she started working as a prostitute too. That's when he went back to Thailand to tell her family and he found out she was already in that "field of work" before meeting him, and her family and friends knew. They helped her deceive him because now, she is sending them money every month. He told me he wanted to kill her. I told him: "don't do it, you'll go to jail, she'll be dead and your neighbor will be laughing all the way to the bank. Just don't do it!".
Even a well dressed Christian lady stopped here out of gas on a Sunday around noon asking for gas. I'm disabled, not a penny to my name but I gave her and her big full sized new car five bucks to get gas but asked to have it back. I put in what mower gas I had, zoom off she goes smiling. A friend of mine was almost scammed. He was calling her "honey' and saying "I love you" very early on. He ask her first if she would send him $50. (I have heard that many scammers ask for a small amount, then progress to larger sums.). Mt friend waited ,4 one month b4 she told me about her guy scammer. The reason: because she was embarrassed to admit she was so gullible. When she told her scammer she didn't have $50 (for sure she didn't have it), he never called again. She was lucky to have learned early in his game.
I online dated for about 3 years in New York City mind you, until I met my husband- also online. It takes a special kind of person for this to happen to them. Not to insult anyone but… I’m in the “how the f**k do people keep falling for this?!” Boat. 1- don’t send people money 2- date people that you CAN meet! Not people in other countries! 3- accents don’t match country of origin- red flag 4- don’t send you personal info (photos) to someone new - actually don’t send that to anyone. You never know what exes could do with your stuff once you break up. 5- if someone is telling you “I love you” or getting too into you too fast… run! It may not be a scam, but at the very least this person has emotional issues. Follow those 5 points. This will never happen to you. I think often times people that fall for these scams are actually extremely self conscious people that don’t WANT to met people in person.
I don't have any sympathy for them at all because it is their fault for being so stupid. They willingly gave their money away just because of some photos and chat lines.
These women need some common sense when using those sites. WHY would you send a stranger that much money? How do you trust someone you’ve never met? Ridiculous! I’ve NEVER sent a man money and I’m not lucky, I’m sensible. My money stays in my pocket.
The first flaming red flag is there is no such thing as online dating. Now before you start screaming and yelling, How can you date someone that, you are not in their face to face company, in person. You are having an online conversation. It is not a date. Wake up and pay attention. The second flaming flag is when somebody is asking you for money because of their sob story. It's time to hang up the connection. Wake up ladies and gentlemen stop being such a soft touch. Wishing you the very best, stay alert!

@@BelleFleurs1 Sorry but August said desperate for love. Nothing was said about attractiveness so, it is you who associated desperate with being unattractive. Hmm. That's pretty rude and quite ignorant. The truth is attractive people can be just as desperate because others only see them physically and basically dismiss who they are as a person then later be shamed by them for not submitting to become this package they envisioned. My point to you and August is... It does not matter what you look like or what personality you have, we are all desperate to be loved for who we are exactly as we are. Even people in relationships, some who have been married for years are desperate for that. We are all easy targets.

Money scams can also occur within (offline) long term relationships that go bad for various reasons (i.e. hidden gambling debts and/or drug addiction). A spouse that’s trusted for 20 years could drain every cent of the couple’s financial security under the right circumstances.

I gave the gifts back to him, wished him well
I was crying & hurting for a long time after that. I got through it.

There always a promise of much-more money later, if they give them money now.

I'm sure you are intelligent enough to find the scam....
A Nigerian accent is not remotely similar to an Australian accent...
True. And this is coming from a woman that believed an oil magistrate needed money from her! 😑
*... you're looking for on a dating....
1st sign was when they ask for $. A decent self supporting honest man/ woman with integrity wouldn't even ask.
A good sign is also that we all know what society deems attractive in terms of physicality and race. If you suddenly have all kinds of attention from someone and you are not part of the group deemed attractive....beware.
Also, they never call you by your name. It's "baby" or My Love, etc. If they are "stuck" overseas, tell them to call the consulate.
I have an accent… I’m far from an scammer… half of the population in USA has an accent….
Men too
There MUST come a point when the victim is no longer a victim but is, in fact, a Volunteer to the deception.
No one can take advantage of you...unless you let them..!!!!

Plenty of videos American businessmen have offices in the Philippines recruiting people to prey on victims. Nothing knew been going on for years.
Yeah Dr Phil exposes them all the time until these men and women are left TOTALLY BROKE!

Hell I don't ever give money to people I do know lol

I have received quite a number of requests to want to get to know me. The story is always the same, widowed with a child, working on an oil rig. I responded one time telling them I had 10 kids and was looking for a husband…they never called back🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣 omg this is what I am gonna do!!
It's so funny how these men always have kids. Even if these tales were real I wouldn't accept it...Why is it okay or attractive for men to have baggage and mothers are considered damaged goods?
I have no kids so I don't want yours, not my responsibility!

Ok, after listening to this "victim" I realized something about myself... I'm cheap and a bit heartless.
How about not a fool? Old fashioned common sense is in short supply.
Not to mention you have common sense...
Me too, I don’t like lending money as it is, let along giving it to someone I don’t know lol, no point trying to scam me you will get nothing lol

You are a realist. Nothing wrong with that.

Forget online dating. Meet the person. Don't fall for ANY story asking for money.
Real men don't date online.😎
It’s her own fault. Why would you give money to a stranger you never met, especially $100,000. The first time he asked for money she should’ve deleted him. 😯

I completely agree.. Unless your married to them and or they’re family then and only then can you trust someone with that kind of money and even in some of those situations you can never 100 percent fully trust . .
I am thankful that this lady has had the courage to speak out.
She should be utterly ashamed of herself for being so desperate and dumb.
You are so right!
I ONLY loan to my brother who is like a twin to me and I know would bail me out if I was in trouble too. I do help other people now and then but not strangers...and it is pure charity, I don't expect 'love" from them.
'lend' - I win!
Always has oil involved
Truth. She didn’t send 100k from the get go. She kept giving him money over & over again still never meeting IRL or talking on FaceTime.
Did he even have a son? Scammers know kids pull at heartstrings so they will use kids to breakdown the walls we put up.

The devil doesn't wear red. He comes to you as everything you ever hoped and dreamed of.
I wonder how the FTC found them to be responsible.
I still and never will understand how someone gives 100k to someone you have never met.

The fact that people have R100K to give to others makes me realize I’m a broke individual

I saw her on another channel. It was a combo of totally emptying out her all her 401k, savings, and she also took out loans and maxed out credit cards. It’s unbelievable. I wouldn’t have done that for friends and family I’ve known my whole life , much less a stranger I’ve never met before.

Just don’t send strangers money period. I don’t like to give money to friends and family so it’s pretty easy for me to say no to a stranger.
How Are People With That Much Money So Stupid As To Give It To Strange Men??? How Did They Get That Much Money??
I've been trying to figure that out for years because I know I'm smarter than a lot of people who have way more money than me.
That's why I didn't feel this was the best journalism because she didn't explain how much she gave the first time she helped him ... doubtful she gave him the full $100,000 right up front .

I online dated for about 3 years in New York City mind you, until I met my husband- also online. It takes a special kind of person for this to happen to them. Not to insult anyone but… I’m in the “how the f**k do people keep falling for this?!” Boat.
1- don’t send people money
2- date people that you CAN meet! Not people in other countries!
3- accents don’t match country of origin- red flag
4- don’t send you personal info (photos) to someone new - actually don’t send that to anyone. You never know what exes could do with your stuff once you break up.
5- if someone is telling you “I love you” or getting too into you too fast… run! It may not be a scam, but at the very least this person has emotional issues.
Follow those 5 points. This will never happen to you.

The government doesn’t care nor provide any job opportunities for them. Everyone is doing any and everything just to make ends meet. It’s a sad situation.
The people willingly giving money to strangers on the other hand, despite all the warnings…🤦♀️
The amount of bravery this took was INSANE. These people all had their lives in danger, but still decided to go through with the recovery for the sake of busting bad scammers. True respect *Strong widget!*
If the FBI was half as dedicated and ingenious (and honest) as you guys are, the USA would be a much safer country.
Amazing work!
THIS IS A SCAM!
When they ask you for money tell them you’re the one who needs money and ask them for double the amount what they are asking from you.
That's what I do.
Yes I agree.Id say "My King I'm so glad you brought up the subject of money because I have a big hospital bill that I need you to help me pay".Or "I can fly out to meet you right away if you'll send me the plane ticket"
And I think the key in Rebecca's story is she had talked to him for a year. Most people would think a scammer wouldn't put in that much time but apparently they would.
Sounds logical. But you have to realize she's likely not the only one he's working on. It's probable he's got dozens in the works at the same time so he's not dependent on any specific target.
They will if they think you have $$$. Plus, they are good at finding the right targets.
The scammers work in teams, so it was lots of people divvying up the "work" of talking to her for a year.
A scammer would put in that much time...but I believe Rebecca was sending him money all along the course of that year. Let's face it, I'm sure she didn't just send him 100K at one lump sum.
Talking is easy for a talker so her lack of whit got her caught up…. Ppl do things for no reason & reasons
She ALLOWED them to scam her..
As they say.."No one can take advantage of you, unless you let them"
How true..
