Good light and thanks for the nightshots Darren! But I think you missed a trick by not getting the high cri version of the same emitter. Yeah, this light is way too small for throw to be of any relevance and with the side switch setup it works better as a floody thrower or a throwy flooder if that makes any sense.
Hi mate, yeah the XHP50.3 HI can throw a good distance but you'd need a larger reflector. I think it's still impressive at 200+m, but yes it produces a lot of light in the S21E and a lot of it comes off as flood.
SFT40 will be perfect, more throw and slightly less output... but likely to produce more heat as it is driven at higher current. Another guy commented and said he had the SFT40 version and said it is very underrated.
i am looking for a light that has quite a bit of (flood) spill on the side so to illuminate my path on the ground while walking and not have to aim the flashlight down. did i make a mistake by buying this model? i just bought this in XHP50.3 R9050
Looking forward to receiving my MAO version of this exact light. Will be fun to throw around some lumens!😎 Thanks again for another excellent video👍
The MAO one looks awesome. Thank you mate.

Very nice. How do you think it will compare to an sft40 led in this light

Hi, it has lots of decent spill as well so don't worry. I'm assuming you got the HI version? It's de-domed and will throw further.
@@DarrenYeoYT it is written as HI yes. i will wait to see the results. thank you very much for the feedback.
How does this compare to the TN12 pro in terms of throw?
The TN12 pro will throw further for sure, I think it's rated at 390m. This one creates more flood but surprisingly still reaches the 200m mark.
I't 5000k or 4000k? Thanks!
6500K, 70CRI.
