Watching Dr. J Converse commercials! "Hey hey Dr. J, where you get them moves and are you you wearing magic shoes!!"😂🤣😅only old heads die hard Dr.J fans will remember that commercial Shay Shay!!👟👟👟
Yeah, for back in the day. He would come off the bench in today’s NBA. He had no jumper. All that poetry won’t matter, with a 3 smacked in his face. Your generation is over old man
Both of you have an unmatched chemistry! The most charismatic duo in sports TV. Magic is an awesome storyteller. This is so entertaining. Love from India Unc
I and college friends of mine watched Dr. J's around the backboard shot in 1980. To this day it's easily one of most exciting plays I have ever seen. Every single dude I knew who played basketball was trying to replicate that shot.
The GOAT! Nobody put the whole sport on his shoulders like when he entered. Stats, chips don’t matter when an athlete performs for the sake of the sport.
This is what mentorship can do to change a young man’s life. Lots of athletes that become broke after getting caught in the high life and retiring. Glad that Dr.J took time and his financials to impact magic life. Magic has in turn changed communities with his investment!!
Magic no doubt has been very fortunate in getting that oportunity, sounds like it was a huge foundational experience for him and set his decision to turn pro into stone. Same again with his solid relationship with Dr Buss. Really sounds like a great friendship and mentorship.
Julius "Dr. J." Irving was an absolute legend, he did some moves on the basketball court that Michael Jordan could not do... Just an incredible player, and humanitarian!
That's amazing. I'm from Philly, grew up an ardent Sixers' fan. Can't believe Doc had Magic to his home during the playoffs. Makes me wonder how other many stories like this exist that we don't know about. Sadly, I was at that final game 7 mos. later when the Lakers beat us on our home court, right behind the basket. I can see Magic smiling from ear to ear. Great story, thanks for sharing.
This is like the 2 cool uncle's kicking it at the cookout! I'm from the same city that Magic is from... He was a definite inspiration even tho I was a Pistons fan. Every Sunday it was either LA vs. Boston or a double header & they both played.
I was friends who were integrally involved with an NBA team and they related to me that Dr. J was considered the best player in the league by the other players.
Class I love those stories about Dr. J. He was the one who had everyone in the neighborhood wanting to play ball. Love that guy. And Magic. Great stories
I love this show man, he really is the best in the game because it's really a uncle giving wisdom and learning also, I really love and appreciate real talking and sharing memories most people dream of
I met in Indpls ABA Pacers when the Pacers we're great ! He was 20 yrs old big fro ! Total class act . What a nice gentleman ; Dr. Looked like he was playing the game in slow motion . Poetry in motion large hands ; so melliflous ! 🏀🏆🙋♂️🎷👍
Shows you why this is my fave NBA player. He had so much respect for the game and the players in it. What a great clip! BTW, that final game of his rookie year is why I call him the greatest NBA player I have ever seen. Who does that during their rookie year WITHOUT arguably the greatest player at the time playing the game, The Captain. Love Magic!
The first basketball game I saw live was in 1971. The Indiana Pacers played the Virginia Squires. The Squires’ starting forwards were Julius Irving and George Gervin.
Me and my friends watched that shot and it took our breath away the idea that he thought of a way to make that shot clearly call the Lakers off guard. The Lakers did everything right they cut him off with the baseline and he still made the shot legally but illegal to gravity

What's your favorite Dr. J memory?
🎧: sprtspod.fox/Ep.57
Watching him in " The Fish that saved Pittsburg"😊💕
The two they just talked about. Seeing those plays on the day they took place, as a kid, those are memories that stay with you for a lifetime.

Every moment Shannon you gotta get him on the show
Dunking on Kareem and behind the backboard shot
Dr J is an immortal, dude was poetry in motion and set the standard for what a NBA superstar is all about

Magic is just a great story teller!! Dr J, Magic & Kobe my Top 3 favorites by a mile.

I love listening to these Brothas regardless how long their paper has gotten they still sound like themselves. Shout out to my €ountry Legends 💯👌
They’ll never be another Dr. J, by far the most exciting player of all time. It was a era of real men playing. Now it looks college ball at best.
That was a dope clip. Funny and serious. Magic talking about just standing and watching him play lol Dr J was the original goat from what I understand
He is the godfather of modern day basketball💯👑

That Rolls Royce that's the only car Dr. J have if you heard Charles Barkley what he was saying. Dr. J is a smart gentleman.
Its surprising how Dr J is 73 and still has a better hairline than Lebron
Doc was COLD
Definitely the mid 70s early '80s Dr J was it pretty much the man, till magic and bird, than Jordan 90s
No way players back in the day were as friendly as they are now...
... they say 🤔😆😆😆
Magic was on the bench while Dr. J did the reverse layup. He talked as if he was on the court.
Nah he talked that he was there
Look at the video again, you will not see Magic on the court. He was on the bench at that time.
