Lisa Lisa is Hip Hop. She really did popularized that Latin Hip Hop sound better known later on as Freestyle. I miss Freestyle music. Lisa Lisa was hella dope.
Dont agree with Tamaron referring to the freestyle music genre as hip hop. Freestyle genre is different from, and can be confused with, freestyle rapping. Performers like Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam, Expose", Debbie Deb, Shannon, and Stevie B were the most popular freestyle genre artists. They were not considered hip hop artists. Lisa Lisa did pave the way for Latin artists to become mainstream, which she deserves more credit for.
@breakthroughnow Before it was called "Freestyle" it was called Latin Hip Hop. They changed the name to Freestyle because many other artists of different backgrounds started doing Freestyle music, not just Latinos. Freestyle is a mixture of Latin sounds over Hip Hop beats and Pop elements. I agree, they aren't considered Hip Hop artists but there's no way you can say Lisa Lisa is not Hip Hop. Have you not seen how many Hip Hop artists have remade I Wonder If I Take You Home.
@@henny6566 Latin hip hop is not the same a freestyle. Latin hip hop is rapping along with drum-based beats, while Latin freestyle we are talking about is synthesizer-based music, more aligned with pop music. There was no "hip hop" beats included that you are trying to fit in the definition. The groups Lisa Lisa, Expose', Shannon, Debbie Deb were considered Latin freestyle.
@breakthroughnow You are so wrong. Freestyle was once called Latin Hip Hop. That was the original name of the genre when. It began. They changed the name to Freestyle later on. Look up any documentary on Freestyle music and you will see it was originally called Latin Hip Hop. You really never listened to Freestyle music aside from the popular acts or you would know they were singing over Hip Hop beats and Hip Hop voice samples.
@henny6566 Please send me the name or link to that documentary so I can see this for myself. I was a big fan of freestyle music and my memory and research still points to my talking points.
My favourite song is "I wonder if I take you home ", always.... Still bust that tune load soon as It comes on. Still praying it today Nov 2024 and still fresh and better than stuff today! ❤
Back in the day Lisa Lisa was so fine and beautiful and guys loved the way she looked but her music was timeless and to me she is a legend in the music industry. And on a side note I have a you tube channel type in Russell Mills May 22, 2017 to find me.

She just sang good music.!🎶🎶🎶
She had two big attractions, and it wasn’t her voice or her talent, or lack thereof.
3 big huge attractions if you count her backside. The true definition of ass and tits.
Her hair and attire?
Looks and jugs💥😂👍
