Excellent story… excellent rendition…. (…oft-times I slow the speed down for easier listening to sleep) But as this is a rather short story, any speed works. And it is quite brilliant
How would he know that the painting would be on display in her office (or that it would be there at all for that matter) and to have a bottle of solvent and sponges on his person for just such an eventuality stretches the bounds of credulity. Also surely there are far easier and less risky ways of smuggling a painting across the channel. Note during the theft it had been cut from its frame, so could of been concealed in a clynder so why have it reframed and made harder to hide?
So was the head mistress involved or merely a pawn? She didn't seem very upset. I like the Parker Pyne stories because the culprit often ends up saying "damn that nosey Parker!"
You're right about not being able to listen so fast as you get older. I said that to an audiologist, and she said that that is an actual thing. Click on the cog at the cog at the bottom of the picture and set the speed to 0.75. It will be easier to listen.

Agatha is the best, and the reader is great too
My bedtime stories told in fine form. Thank you for your talented rendition.
Excellent problem for the "little grey cells".
Thank you for uploading this interesting story, and for the excellent narration.

The narration is an AI voice though better done than most

Do not like the intro because it reveals the plot.
I think a lot of mystery stories on UA-cam Tube nowadays are AI generated and AI narrated.
too much intro
Reads a bit too fast for me. As i get older i cant listen as fast!
There is also speed control on the controls
