I've watched many of yr vid's without realizing, you make it lots easier to understand but I'll still need to come back to remember the Japanese names. Sitting here outside at night 'pond is lit' and you've told me which of my Koi are beautiful & which are rubbish but I rescued them & Yes, some have personalities 💕! Thnx for yr info 😁
It is much more than new insights. It is a real complement to the books I have but instead of a static fish on picture, we have live fish in motion. These two short clips are genuine references to help identify koi. I will share these links in the koi enthusiasts community for sure! Thanks again.
Thank you for posting this. NOTE, people, no long fin koi anywhere here. That's an American thing. My 'Shamoo' is now 22 years old in my pond. He boldly swims on top of the other fish at chow time. I feed pasta, rice, carrots, peas, cheerios, worms, (and quality koi food), they'll eat anything. He loves water melon. I absolutely love koi.
I love how when it comes to Koi the Verity is so divers, yet there are a lot more verifies as we know. 65th big 👍 up is now up. 😊 Thankyou very much for sharing Sir. Stay safe and take care. Enjoy your weekend. 😊
This is so great, so much info, thank you. Learning which ones that are harder to identify that I got in my Koi shipment from Japan in June. So exciting.
Very informative video. Thanks for taking the time to put this together. However - are you familiar with the Ginga variety? I think they are just another varient of the Kujaku but am having difficulty finding our for sure.
Thanks for your comment. That's a really interesting topic actually. Many people do say there is no difference between Beni Ginga (So Ginga with red) and Kujaku. This is kind of true, as there is almost no difference. Ginga is a crossing between Kujaku and Hajiro. That results, if you ask me, in a Kujaku with dark scales. So the Ginga, I think you are correct, can be seen as a Kujaku but darker colour.
If you mean the top right corner, next to the white fish with black fins. Yes, that brown one is a Doitsu Chagoi. The one on the left top (quite white as well) is a Gin Matsuba.
Can I get a good English transcript of this video? I do understand a little of what the guy says in the video however there is some information I want to know more about and can't seem to understand. Thanks!
alright! i do understand you. you don’t have to worry, coz even the olympics in japan last year was cancelled due to the pandemic. .just keep posting videos that will help us newbies learn more and in depth understand about koi.
White. But the body has a white dot near the dot like it's going to the head. And the belly is white actually but there's 2 dots in back of the head. Found in my school fish pond lol
@@Aboutkoi yes i already separated them from mother koi ... But my pond for koi fry is not big enough . i am only expecting a few hundred to survive , next time i will prepare carefully
Everything is possible, I think you can be profitable - as long as you are good to your clients, offer a nice range of Koi and products. Make your customers happy, show your expertise, and I'm sure you can have a profitable Koi business.
Btw i have a question is there a koi fish called "hi karashigoi"? Hi means red btw cuz the reason why i ask this cuz once i open youtube in a earlier day the title of that dude's video is "Beautiful 81cm super red karashigoi" and i thought it was benegoi since its red so that got me confused i hope u can help me.
Hi there, I woul dsay 'Hi Karashigoi' is not a thing. That would be a Benigoi in my opinion. But I have to say, indeed a lot of 'red karashigoi' and 'super red karashigoi' are passing by. I'm not really familiair with them, also a bit confusing to me. Since 'Karashi' actually means musterd when translated from Japanese. And I have not seen red mustard before. I think it's a European thing to call it 'super red' and 'red'. Can't imagina a breeder would call them like that: but a nice thing to ask a breeder in japan itself! I'll surely ask it to them during my next visit
@@Aboutkoi oh ok when u visit Japan pls ask them ok cuz it’s a bit confusing for me and the moment I saw the “hi” karashigoi on UA-cam I was like is this fake? Cuz the only plain red koi I know is benegoi which is kinda making me confused but I hope that if u come to japan I hope u can ask them to see if the “hi” karashigoi is real or not. Anyways Thank You for your response mate.
Karashigoi is more yellowish colour then a Chagoi. Chagoi usually is light green/olive colour or brown up to dark chocolate brown. Also if you take a look at the body posture, you can see the a Chagoi usually has a more flat/broader nose. A Karashigoi has a more pointed nose. Hope that helps you! 👍
Hi there, that makes it more difficult. Sometimes you will be able to guess it correctly. But oftenly that becomes hard. What variety is it? For example doitsu showa, ginrin Showa or Hi Utsuri could indeed be Shinoda
@@Aboutkoi i AM still verry pleased about his quality. Hope his Tancho will stay or get better. His colours seem to have settled. No changes annymore or do u think his colours will change?
all ok but you have to explain what happens to the fishes that are not pass selection? food for the rest?nazi try to do the same with humans, selection.so if my kid is not in the standards i have to eliminate?
@@nikxohs3925 That really depends on the breeder. Some breeders do discard them completely, while other breedesr grow them out to sizes of like 8-13 cm to sell them during winter time
All of these koi are so cute and beautiful!
Thank you very nice video and great looking koi !
Thank you too!
After viewing both of the videos in this series, I think that if I had to choose one, I would have an impossible job. There are all so beautiful.
I can relate to that problem...

Kikusui is actually a Doitsu Hariwake. A light Hariwaki is a lemon hariwaki. You get lemon Kikosuis too
That's a lot to remember...lol
Just remember the ones you like most 😉
Are they easy to care? Cause I'm planing to buy a koi thank for the answer 😊😊😊

Fishies 🐟
There is orange, red, white, black and blue/grey
for karashigoi always remember those are the fastest growing Koi you can get, if you get them from the right breeder
They can grow with a very rapid pace indeed! Beautiful tame Koi variety that can grow into a monster
I saw a koi fish which has a orange body except for the head. The head has a orange dot on it.

White. But the body has a white dot near the dot like it's going to the head. And the belly is white actually but there's 2 dots in back of the head. Found in my school fish pond lol
I have an aragoke and have thousand of babies from it.
