I had never heard of Joe Bonamassa, and then I was looking at the Gibson website and they announced a new Joe Bonamassa signature guitar, and I thought “If he gets a signature guitar, how good a player must he be?” so I checked him out on UA-cam, and before you know it I and two of my friends are in front of the stage in The Old Royal Navy College in Greenwich… then again at Hampton Court Palace… and then Joe’s music is carrying me through stage four cancer to remission! Norm’s guitar of the day videos and Joe’s music helped get me through a very dark time in 2018-19. Thanks Joe and Norm (and Michael Lemmo).
That's awesome mate I hope you are cancer free. You're lucky to have seen Joe live. I've always known he's a good player but never listened to his songs until I watched a live concert on UA-cam and he's got some great songs. His singing is good too but sometimes I find him a little mumbley and hard to understand in that concert but I loved it all the same.
I'm 63 now and have been playing guitar for about 50 years. If I had one guitar player who's life I could live, it would be Joe Bonamassa. Guitarist extraordinaire, guitar geek and cigar aficionado......and just a good dude!
I love it because he just loves to play. Only 2 things I ever wanted to do were play guitar and fly. Ended up flying for a career but I still play everyday and still play in bands. I still have the passion that I wish I could perform almost everyday. Admittedly it’s a bit harder when you’re doing all the setup and tear down but it’s still worth it. Watching him play and seeing his passion is like living your dream through him. His story is a great one.
The ooo28 I got 20 some years ago,was fading into the less played group in the corner, now that I see Joe with one , my little old Martin is looking 👀 so much better.🎉🎉 thanks guys for all you do !
I'll throw in my two cents about playing guitar. You might not become the next Bonamassa but knowing how to play is VERY therapeutic. Better than any medicine I've found. Grounds me like nothing else. Thanks for the video.
After Jeff Beck passed Joe became my fav living guitar player, not just for his playing, also for being a super cool human being. That said it passes down through family and Norman is the the coolest ever!
Standard protocol, i see joe bonamassa and vintage gear, i like the vid instantly. I could listen and watch joe play vintage stuff all day long. Guitar god JB!
Thanks Norm, for your charity work. I love that. I have donated my hair 2 times to Loks 4 love and 2 times for Wigs 4 Kids. It just makes your heart warm, doing something for someone you don't know. And hoping it brings a positive effect to bring them happiness.
I started playing guitars since 1964. It changed my life. I took an acoustic guitar when I went to Vietnam to fight in the war in 1968. I now play a pedal steel guitar as well as a jazz guitar. It changed my life for sure.😅
@@MrWonka5MEOit never fails if your playing guitar or watching guitar players someone that doesnt play guitar will say or comment about someone else being better than you or them.

I got to visit the store last summer and was surprised how it literally is a tiny storefront in a crowded LA strip mall! Super cool to see and some historic guitars in there. Also, Lemmo is a lot taller in person!
Good to see that Norm is loking good again. I prayed for him when he was ill and to my recollection this might be one of the first times I have seen him in a video and looking like he is back to his same old self which is really great to see. God is good and answers prayers when we intercede for others, just sometimes the answers we get are not always as we might expect or within our own time frame, it is a very delicate thing, and the Lord's will is entirely up to Him but I love that he chooses to let us be involved in praying for others, and our earnest Prayers for others, whoever they are -- will have powerful results. See: James 5:16, Prayer does Work folks.
You're looking good Norm. Every video you put out I can see more and more improvement. Your voice is stronger and there's a little boogie in your step. Back to the Norm we all came to love and admire!
❤ saw Joe on the welcome back show in San Jose and it was fabulous. Just fabulous. I do believe we sat right next to his parents in the front row. It was a beautiful show. I have a beautiful beautiful recording of one of your encore songs that night on my channel
GREAT video guys! Love this video the passion they BOTH share! The next one I see following this path (ALREADY) is young Taj Farrant. Already a Virtuouso and has a passion for Guitars with a very decent collection already, at just 14year old! Its great we are lucky to STILL have passionate gifted players and music connesours with a knowledge for the History and keeping The Blues and Rock alive and well! (The Late Great Jeff Beck was another who's sadly no longer here) so great to have people keeping the passion alive! 👍🎸🏴🇬🇧
I met Norm at a little local guitar swap meet a few years back. Nicest guy around and down to earth. I still haven't seen Joe play, but it is on my list.
That looks like the ‘62 Strat I bought in 1978 with money I saved from mowing lawns. It was refinished dark green almost black. I took it to George’s music in Kansas City on North Oak and had it refinished in Fender Candy Apple Red but kept all the original pickup covers and pick guard. It was a great first professional instrument. I traded it in 1980 to Jim Colclasure (Kansas City area vintage dealer) with $1000 for my 1959 Gibson ES-345.
I am always mesmerized listening to you play. Thank you for taking time to let us into a small part of your life as you share on media outlets. Love to see you at Norms, it is so much fun and never know what to expect.
I used to go in the old Norm's Guitar store when I was a kid off of Vanowen street and they would always tell me to keep my greasy hands off the guitars Lol. Great memories!!

You really have to give Joe some credit. He’s a hard working, kind hearted, excellent guitar player.

"I like to play", no kidding. When he's not working, he's working. Joe is a national treasure. He just keeps getting better.
Not better than the real legends.
It's hilarious to watch Norm talk over Joe while he's trying to demo his wares...so humble.
What a quote… “giving someone a guitar can change their whole life” true words to live by, for sure. Love to hear things like that from a true pro
Joe and Norm making the World a better place through guitars. 👍

I couldn't agree more. Playing is the best medicine, at least for us guitar nerds it is. There's an additional $.02 to yours!
I absolutely love the nephew line and Joe always cunningly smiles ❤
Attitude of gratitude and the desire to give back, very classy . Us guitar nerds appreciate you both.
I met Joe around seven years ago. One of the nicest guys you could hope to meet. A real gentleman 😎
Great video with Joe Bonamassa. That '62 Fender Stratocaster sounds amazing. Kind of reminds me of the '61 Fiesta Red Fender Strat Gary Moore owned.
Sounds like 100$ squier

Hats off to Joe. Great musician and very hard worker as such.
At some point he is gonna be buying guitars off himself and not realize it...
🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂
Haha
I definitely believe Joe has more guitars than Norm's store does now.
😂😂
Just love Joe Bonamassa!!!!!!! Don't ever stop being a regular Joe
What a talent and a great sense of humor. See you @ The Taft!!
Joe is amazing . Love his dedication

NEVER too loud when it comes to Joe playing 😁 Saw him last month in St Louis @ the Fox, great show, the band was having fun playing.

@@greenman7612 Thank you for your support. It was kinda hard for me as I went to college upon leaving the service.

I think Joe’s acoustic playing is stellar!
You haven't heard many acoustic players then.
