  • Welcome back to yet another exciting review. This time I'm on the road with the all new 2021 Cupra Formentor which is Cupra's new stand alone model not based on any Seat model for the first time ever. Highly anticipated, this model has some big responsibilities to keep Cupra's name high and respectable.
    The 2021 Cupra formentor is a small SUV with a lot of space inside (backseats), the boot is not the largest but not small by any means.
    The 2021 Cupra Formentor comes in 4 engine types:
    - 1.5 litre 150hp petrol engine
    - 2.0 litre 190hp petrol engine
    - hybrid 1.4 paired with battery 245hp
    - turbocharged 2.0 litre 310hp petrol engine
    The 2021 Cupra Formentor is pleasant to drive and the suspension is just amazing, giving a fine balance between sporty driving and a comfortable ride where it does a great job in soaking up the bumps.
    This car was provided to me by Audi, VW, SEAT Lagrou:

    Excellent review. I noticed the front break rotors are quite small, that said you had the 150hp version. How is the breaking power?

    • @thirst4petrol537
      @thirst4petrol537  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you! And yes rotors are pretty small but breaking power is more than adequate for a 150hp car. I believe the 310hp version has larger breaks aswell for more stopping power :)

      @@thirst4petrol537 i have 310 version with default breaks - they are okey - needed some time to adapt to them (1k mileage) because i felt like there is so little to push on break. Dont know if its my mind or not but brembo during test drive were way more responsible and sharp.

      @@sheeyd00s i haven't tested the brembo breaks on this car but i can believe they're pretty grippy and sharp feeling as they have to stop cars pretty quickly from high speeds 😁

      @@sheeyd00s Yea the brakes on the 310 are a little questionable, the brembos are a different beast, responsive and sharp.... also if you've gone to a 310 formentor from something like a leon cupra 290, you're in for a shock at just how much slower the formentor is compared to the 290, i get that the formentor is a few hundred kg heavier but the difference is still night and day

    It would be great if owners could set their Home Screen preferences. That way it would help reduce the number of menu’s you access before driving away. if you were able to hard set preferences it would be such a bonus (i.e. for me I would always have lane assist and stop/start permanently set to off but in every digital dash I’ve seen, you have to change the settings manually each time you start the car).

    • @thirst4petrol537
      @thirst4petrol537  3 роки тому +1

      That's a very good point actually. Some car brsnds already have this level of customization. And it's perfectly possible to do so through a software update

    • @TouringCar.
      @TouringCar. 3 роки тому

      @@thirst4petrol537 Absolutely. I think it would be so much safer. Lots of people set off and then fiddle with settings for the first 5 mins of a journey which is very distracting. You can say to people that they should set up before they drive, I just don't think people would do it.

    The greatest thing i've found with my formentor is the fact i can have it in cupra mode and fully turn off that extremely annoying fake engine noise

    Nice review again mate! I’m really curious to see the 310HP version! 150HP is not a real ‘Cupra’ in my opinion, but it’s such a cool looking car, and I really love those wheels 😍

      Thanks bro, and yes ur totally right about that one. performance wise it does not come close to a real Cupra. I think we r gonna see more lower power Cupra models as they're a standalone brand now and i guess to boost sales and generate more income they kinda have to. I would also only buy the true Cupra's
