How are you getting on with the Cupra on UK roads? Considering one with a manual. Does it go when you put your foot down or a bit sluggish?

Hi Luke. It was delivered about 3 months ago and I ordered the 1.5 litre 6-speed manual as well. It is a very smooth gearbox and there is plenty of power available when requested. Acceleration is smart when overtaking in the 50+mph range and I have never needed to drop down from 6th to complete a manouvre. That said, my previous car was the 2 litre 318bhp Cupra ST Tourer and that is admittedly in a different league. But the Formentor has proven itself as far as I'm concerned and no regrets. My 23 year old car-mad son loves it too. Plus the V2 is incredibly well equipped.

@@asiaautoambassador9810 car was delivered 2 days ago and I’m loving it .. still playing around with the settings but drives really well and the engine has enough power for a normal driver. The best review I can give is “it makes me smile .”
It was very useful presentation because I consider to buy exactly this model of Cupra! The presenter was talking like expert but at the same time like an "average driver" i.e. with very practical information. Finally, since I am not a native english speaker as well but know a little bit german, I enjoyed (and understood) every single word of presentation.

Really pleased to find an informative review on the 1.5 tsi version that we were initially considering as most i have seen have been about the 2.0/310hp model so of little use. I enjoyed this review and it has probably helped me to decide that a 2.0/190hp would be a better option. Thanks for the time and effort you have put into this.

It most likely would be enough. I've just come from a 194hp E class coupe to a 310hp VZ2. The way I drive, I've realised I don't need all that power, but it's nice to have.
Hi Lee . Don’t know what you have previously driven but in my non petrol head opinion this engine has plenty for everyday driving . It accelerates as good anything else and has loads to give on the motorway

@@mrfamilyman9508 I have bmw x1 174hp - it is fast - I'm looking for something a little slower - this 1.5 looks perfect. But my bmw will run forever - I just can't justify the cost of a new car.

Watching from Belgium, I come from a manual T-roc 1.5TSI 150 and will buy next saterday a Formentor 1.5TSI 4drive. I was not a big fan of the combination in the T-roc. Very bad manual transmission, but the engine is completly diffrent with the DSG.
1.5 is more then enough in this country.

Buy this car.. I have now owned for several weeks . It makes you feel fantastic .. I get stopped by strangers wanting to know what I’m driving.. smooth power delivery. Loads of tech and looks the it’s . I got the V1 .. my next car is the V 2 .. ask my questions .. I love it

what do you think about the power of the engine and various modes of driving?
@@keithhodgson9564 I will make it clear that I’m no petrol head but for a normal driver I think it has plenty of go in it . I’ve just come back from north Wales to London and got 52 mpg and it goes like stink . Smooth power great tech and it makes you smile . The settings are great I terms of ambient lighting ect and when driving at speed I set it on sport and put the gear box in sport and on English roads I can’t see what more power you need . Any questions just ask . It goes lovely handles well plenty of space and is a comfortable drive.. go for it

I'm now driving a Leon estate and have aready started thinking about which car to choose next in 2023.
I am hesitating betwen the new Leon estate, the Ateca and now the Formentor is also in the picture.
Purely looking at the wheelbase and boot the Leon estate is a clear winner but the looks of the Formentor is also very tempting.

Good review on the 1.5 formentor, not everyone wants the top model, running costs etc, but this is a heavy car should have 170 hp .

overall, the car looks great…was looking for 1.5 v1 v2 review, which this exactly is..during the test drive the only thing i noticed was the tyre drone or hum noise, this could well be the stock Bridgestone tyres and not best b roads in the UK, but it hasn’t phased me on the purchase.but has left to wonder how it will fair on UK motorways..have heard a few owners say the tyre noise is excessive..but it wasn’t something i noticed, until someone mentioned it.
Overall, The driving position, experience and seat comfort even on passenger side was very good! So cant wait to own it

7.5 litters i about 30mpg ? is that town or mixed , its listed as 42mpg!!

Excellent review!! the car seems very interesting but I do not like the marketing tricks about cupra badge. It looks like a seat and should be called seat. Except if it had a total different design. It is the same case a kia ceed and xceed. As for the interior it looks a little narrower behind than the Leon, cause of the roof design. Also I am curious who is gonna buy the ateca if there is the formentor next to it?
Odd how the high level brake light is not high level, sort of defeats its purpose.

Why do journalists keep calling it artificial leather. It's genuine nappa leather, it even says that on their website!
Not all parts of the interieur are real leather, it is a mixture with artificial leather.

I have read a lot reviews…they notice high fuel consumption on 1.5 tsi engine is that true?
This is what I thought when i bought this car if u living in germany i will go for 310 but living in uk when speed limits in km its 110/115? 1.5 its super enough for me for every day high mileage routine :)

I have one of these, is this guy 7 feet tall!! I’m 6 foot tall and this guy makes this car look like a regular hatchback!! BTW, it’s an average to good car, nothing special, with a small boot/trunk compared to rivals. Needs real buttons, the touch controls don’t work well on the road.

Tenho um Cupra formentor 1.5 tsi. Novo
O carro tem um barulho na caixa de velocidades que é bastante desconfortável.
Parece algo solto , um tilintar.
Fui á Cupra e disseram que era mesmo assim, que era da caixa que foi montada nesta gama..

No es solo Cupra. Son todos los del grupo VAG que montan esta motorización. SKODA, AUDI,CUPRA,VW.....
Los golf nuevos también salen con este ruido con esta motorización.....es incómodo...pero no afecta al funcionamiento ni mantenimiento del vehículo.
