Thank you for this information I have been looking for info on the emperor as I knew a relative of mine (great great grandmother’s brother) was one of his advisor’s/ supporters I have an old photo of my relative ‘dressed as a chief of the Sudan’ It also has on the back of the photo Emperor Tewodros was known as ‘Basha Filika’ which translates as Bright Eyes ? Is that correct do you know? Relatives then moved to Aotearoa (New Zealand) Most other info I’ve read on internet seems to come from British perspective & isn’t too complementary about the Emperor - so it was interesting to find an alternative perspective Thank you
