There’s a whole world of 1:43 if you start to look - cool obscure vintage stuff, extremely detailed expensive premium stuff, anything you could want. The HW are nice toys, but way overpriced.
This HW 1/43 Skyline is an exception Hot Wheels premium. The attention to details is greatly apprieciated. Wish we would get these kind of details on Elite 64 & RLC castings instead of moving or removable parts! I actually got the Skyline in a local Target along with a 1/43 HW pull back Porsche 911 GT3 that looks really good for $7.99. I also bought 1/43 Lamborghini Countach when it first came out too. You got me going on Jouef Evolution 1/43 cars. Was able to find White w/ green accents Porsche 911 Carrera RS that you showed on a weekly video last year. It’s a really very nice diecast car. Also was able to find inexpensive 1/43 Ford GT-40 by them and love it too. I’m blaming Hot Wheels and you for me going down the 1/43 rabbit hole. LOL😀 Thanks for keeping up & sharing them with us.
I rarely go to Target. It's inconvenient to go all the way to the back, to find nothing. I did stop at one while in Laredo, Tx. yesterday, there were only four of the Jeeps there.
I believe that you may be on to something about the 1:43 scale Hot Wheels, because they're bringing back all of them from the series, at my local Target, #5 & #6 are the only two, I was interested in.
Great video. On lamley’s video They have already confirmed there are more to come. I know one is a classic Mercedes, another is a Porsche and another is a custom mustang.
I like the HW 1/43 Mustang, the reason why this casting warms the pegs is because people think it's too expensive ($25 is too much imo, should've been around $15). The AMG GT3 is the best one of this lot in my opinion. The R34 looks cool, although it's a car that's being done a *lot* in 1/64 last year. Overall i agree that they should have a really strong selection of models to make a good first impression, or cool custom designs you can't find anywhere else if they want to be competitive in the 1/43 scale.
The HW 1/43 scale has sold very well here in the UK, with only the Jeep keeping the pegs warm for a couple of months. The Jeep is also sold out now and is being sold by re-sellers for an average of $32! I totally agree with you on the choice of the castings! They should have looked at the sales of RLC castings, lets face it any JDM model they do with RLC lasts seconds on release date and you have to be damn lucky to cop one!!! I get the reasoning behind releasing US manufacturers to appeal to the domestic market, but 1/43 historically sells more in the foreign markets, especially in the EU! I want them to keep making the 1/43 scale as the execution is definitely on point and with the weight of the model there is definitely a feeling of a high quality item in hand. So if you compare the price to other die-cast manufacturers who produce 1/43 scale for example Tarmac Works, the retail price point for the quality of manufacturing is a fair price for me to pay, I regularly pay over $40 for a casting in 1/43 from TW!!
I personally don't collect 1:43 Scale, but it looks like hot wheels did a half way decent job on them. It would be nice if the inserted headlight details made its way into the RLC line of cars.
Just anecdotal evidence, but my local stores here in one of the northern suburbs of Brisbane, Australia, the 1/43 stuff are mostly peg warmers. The price point is way too high IMHO being over thirty bucks, and the subject matter has been done to death in 1/64, especially in the more premium offerings. The question I always ask is why would you bother? 🤔
I honestly believe that it's done. Like you said, they should've put out some "bangers" to start like a Porsche 911 RWB, Toyota AE86 or maybe a BMW of some sort? Maybe an E30 M3?
Cursing myself for hesitation on the BNR34 when there were four in my nearest stockist. I was a little bit shocked at the price & had priorities in terms of finances at the time (potentially needed a new exhaust for my real car). Turned out I didn't have a big impending bill for my car after all, here I am with £20 spare & now the only ones available are those that have been bought up & being resold on eBay with Scalpers Added Tax applied....
I ordered one now from another country fo 30 bucks with shipping, I'm not a huge collector but I love details (although I hate 1: 43 scale but whatever) and even classic premiums aren't cutting it. When I look at my old hotwheels and some of them have full details I just think it should be on every single one not just premiums with shiny wheels. And I also don't want to go trough RLC, Creation memberships and shipping issues to get even more detailed model. I grew up on them so I won't choose another brand for better details it doesn't have any value for me. But that 1: 43 scale details are mindblowing from hotwheels finally brakes behind wheels interior and even downside of car has details, not even mentioning the package itself where you can take it out and return it back so dust wont collect on it. (Not that I will remove the seal and take it in hand). One in collection won't kill anyone and tbh 1:64 less detailed are going for the same price in case of r34 generally. I bet you can order it still cheap since this series will definitely fail, until yesterday I didn't even knew it was a thing. It isn't the same feeling as finding it in store but I think it's worth it
The Skyline and Mercedes are, in fact, showing up at my local Targets. They don't last long though. You ask me, Mattel probably should have started with the Skyline.
I’m a huge Mustang fan but I haven’t bought the Hot Wheels one mainly because of the color. If it were a more exciting color I’d buy it but $25 is a lot for that car. The price point should be closer to $15-$17 for people to buy them. Hot Wheels have these 1/43 cars priced too high in my opinion.
I think the `:43 line is a great concept as they are fairly durable feeling plus roll nice too (great desk toy). but I do think they lacked in the casting selection department. Maybe go through and look at their popular castings in their 3 inch range. Have you been looking out for the pull back speeders line? they recently put out a sweet custom 69 Mustang, I have the GT Scorcher too which looks like a foxbody mustang/Thunderbird but done up like a Super Shiloette.
I’ve got a ton of vintage corgi and vintage dinky, I looked at the 1:43 hot wheels but no moving parts at $25.00 each? Nope! Spectraflame paint would probably have helped that Mustang. I’m a Mustang guy…but that color.
I couldnt believe the hw 1/43 Mustang Mach1 was a cream grey seriously not red? Then i saw a real cream grey Mach 1 on the Rimutaka road near Hutt Valley in New Zealand a few months ago!😢
The Ford Galaxy Minivan was a Co Production with Volkswagen (VW) the Body is the same as a Volkswagen Sharan, the only change the Front and Back and use Ford engines. 🙂
I like 1/43 but $30 Canadian before tax at Toys R' Us is more than I'm willing to pay for most of these (I'd make an exception if Mattel finally started sublicensing Ferrari from May Cheong Group for this series) and I think the packaging should've been in stackable display case format (like Mattel themselves used to do with their 2000-ish 1/43 Ferrari Hot Wheels series).
I think the wipers on the Volvo headlights are for driving in the snow, The Hot Wheels 1/43 are no where as nice compared to European makes like Schuco BBR etc.
I hope Mattel continues with this line. I'm in the UK where the price isn't as prohibitive - they're roughly twice the price of a Premium or the same price as a Team Transport. The Jeep was the biggest peg warmer here. Could not shift them at all. Personally I love the Mustang. Skyline is also excellent as is the racing Merc. Not interested in the rest.
For me as an european its not only the Casting choice, very important is the price Point. If HW will sell their 1/43 and Elite64 only in the US, its okay. Dont know if they do a Elite64 Lamborghini Countach, but i have to pay 25€ for an Elite64, double the price for a MiniGT, guess what i will choose? A regular Premium HW is only 1€ cheaper than a MiniGT here in Germany.
Check out the beautiful IXO 1/43 scale that they have at LP Garage. I just bought a beautiful IXO 2005 Saleen Mustang in Satin Chrome. Really beautiful Diecast for $39.99
I hope not i got 4 so far i just lack the Mercedes-Benz and Nissan but they quite expensive here in New Zealand at $37.00 if they dropped retail price they will sill more!😂
The 1/43 hotwheels recently showed up in my country in Europe. And the price is super stupid. They are asking for one car 70eur. For that price i can buy 1/18 scale with better details. Not waisting my money on these. I i do end up opening one on my channel then that one was probably gifted to me or something like that.
I have all 6 of them and should Hot Wheels discontinue them, then its complete. I am more into 1/64, but these 1/43 HW did intrigue me and I love them. Should they carry on, fine by me.😊
I heard there was 2 more cars in the works. I’m thinking about buying the muscle and sports cars. Don’t talk to me about the delorean. I would buy every single one that I had the money for :D I already do. I don’t plan on selling them though but you can hate me all you want. I am planning on getting these but I don’t have the finances right now to purchase one. I won’t be buying the Jeep though. I’ll buy an old school muscle car any day of the week if one comes out that’ll be cool to see if the line continues but I don’t think it’s going to continue much longer.
The convertible top would fold in half and tuck into the trunk. The tan part would then come down as a beauty cover after the trunk closed over the folded top. If it functioned properly that is.
Championdjk, if they released 1/43 in only Euro & JDM we would never see a single one of these in stores.
The Mustang 1/43 was actually the hottest color at Ford dealers when this Mustang came out. I love the paint scheme on it
Too bad because these “collectors” only knew jaded and midnight purple lol.
that misfunctioning convertible top had me in fits of laughter
comedic genius
Its triggered me hard If he switched the tan cover first, should be the last one you push down. Greetings from Germany. 🤣

How did the spoiler fix go for you on the AW Trans Am Ultra Red?
I fixed it and it looks pretty good
@@ChampiondjkI’m happy for you!

Very cool castings championdjk

I agree. Yup you're right 🍺😎
Good thing it wasn’t raining since it took you an hour to close the top of that AMG! 😂
Hahahaha what a puzzle that was
I believe that you may be on to something about the 1:43 scale Hot Wheels, because they're bringing back all of them from the series, at my local Target, #5 & #6 are the only two, I was interested in.
awesome looking models the mustang is really cool looking the color is unique looking awesome diecast weekly
Great video. On lamley’s video They have already confirmed there are more to come. I know one is a classic Mercedes, another is a Porsche and another is a custom mustang.
Totally agree with you geez a 55 Gasser would be sick.👍

Try a good pair of sprue cutters/mini flush cutters for those packaging plastic-coated wires. Should be a simple snip & pull and Bob's yer uncle

Will this be the last of hot wheels in 1 43???
Did they ever come out with the Porsche 911 GT3 RS? I saw the model/prototype previewed over on Lamley but never the finished product.
Great diecast 143 scales🎉🎉

The Jeeps are the shelf sitters, in my area.
They are here too in Nz but it's a fab model!😂

Don’t forget the Vette and Honda imports I sent you. They were certainly different for 1/43 scale.

Target in OKLAHOMA is the only place that sells these that I have seen.

Since there is no Mopar the only one I want is the Skyline. There cool but a little pricey.

Inno64 1/64 skyline looks better than hot wheels 1/43 skyline 😅

These cars are cool but they are calling 25$ a piece for these at the store!😵💫
The worst package is done by Hotwheeels using the rubber bands.
It destroys the paint.
Compairing to these, the Wiring here is quite decend.
I would be surprised if HW continued on with 1/43 , maybe one more year. I bought zero of them.
I heard there was 2 more cars in the works. I’m thinking about buying the muscle and sports cars. Don’t talk to me about the delorean. In Europe is 1/43 scale a normal scale to collect maybe Hot Wheels should be go for that.
The R34 is a terrible colour, they should have gone with the iconic blue or a white
They have it in blue .. good luck finding it tho 😢
