Huge fan Magnus! I don't know if you realize this or not but Marte brings something to your videos that has always been missing - consistent progression climbing. Being able to watch someone progress over time (other than you, because let's face it, you're already pretty good) with proper training instruction brings a whole new element to the channel. I learned so much from this video! Here's hoping it lasts between you two. (:

I didn't expect to enjoy watching this as much as I did! As someone who is comfortable with top-rope and considering whether to learn to lead climb, it's really great to watch someone who is new to it going through the process and seeing all the challenges that she faces, while at the same time seeing that it's not impossible to learn it!
I love that you're showcasing a climber of about the same skill level I'm at. I get kind of embarrassed climbing the "easy" stuff while I'm surrounded by experienced climbers doing difficult problems/routes, so it's encouraging to see you side by side cheering each other on at wildly different skill levels.
I'd be happy to watch more videos of you lead climbing. I love the content you put out in general, but I also love what you originally did with Robin and then alone.
Actually, the main reason is probably "Allemannsretten" (The right of public access to all land, public and private, as long as it is not being actively farmed or similarly developed) and the tradition of spending a lot of time out in nature ("gå på tur") which of course provides lots and lots of trees and boulders for the kids to climb on. I know that my own parents used to locate me when they had been out orienteering by simply looking for the tallest tree around.

Marte did amazing! Watching her lead that route was super intense but she did a great job. She's really good for a beginner as well. I think she does a lot of stuff intuitively and might not even realize it at times (eg. shaking out, flagging, etc.). Cheers and thanks for the video.

So many people would be scared to film dates but if you are a blogger/UA-camr then any partner would have to be comfortable in front of the camera so I think it's great you are doing this! I took my Rungne chalk bag to the crag today, none of my friends have their own gear so I brought everything, it was the preferred bag. A friend and I have been developing a new climbing area in western Maine, USA. It is so much fun getting people out to the crag.

Actually very helpful to see you coaching a novice climber, and seeing you lead climb too. Glad the chalk bags are selling well, especially in a space flooded with options. What there are very few of is climbing/bouldering gym bags that have all the features you need, so maybe something to consider when expanding your product line.

Amanda Gibson that’s awesome!! I’m also getting into hangboarding to increase my finger strength. If you want, I recommend watching calisthenic videos (Thenx is my favorite) and look up “grease the groove method” on UA-cam. It’s very similar to what Magnus explained in juji & toms “build finger strength” video where you train 50-80% of your max 4-6 times throughout the day or a 30-60min gap. Good luck!!!
Woah, magnus... You nailed the crap out of that 8... Had my palms sweating... I need some chalk just for watching you climb! That was epic. Also, she already seems much more comfortable on the wall. That was definitely a very big move for someone her size (shorter arms means certain stretches to reach are not easily done) so seeing her not only hold on after the first attempt (and miss) but also to nail it like that on the second reach... Phenomenal! I would definitely like to see you do more lead climbing, and eapecially the overhangs. Not only are you pretty much like spider man on those walls, but you do it so casually. Just take a second to see the options, while hanging on with one hand... You did that multiple times on just that one run. Seeing how "in control" you are when you climb is amazing... How marte was breathing as she tried to clip the top-clip... That would totally be me. I, too, do not do so well with heights... getting up there is much easier for me than getting down... Something about having to "just let go". ... . lol.. Major props to all of you... including the support crew.

I think it will be cool to see her progression from beginner to more experienced climbers. Must be nice to have such awesome mentors!
Amanda Gibson yeah I totally agree! I’m honestly so blessed to have such a great and helpful climbing community at my gym. Everyone’s so chill and helping out. I went from climbing 5.6’s on top rope to now leading 5.11c in just 2 months XD
@@Ghostlver5 that's awesome! You must be pretty psyched - these videos by MM have been getting me very excited to climb too! Kinda nice to see people pushing themselves. I tried campus board the other day - and I suck at it but will keep trying because I see the benefits from Magnus' climbing and feel stronger, even after one sessions. Peace.
Amanda Gibson that’s awesome!! I’m also getting into hangboarding to increase my finger strength. If you want, I recommend watching calisthenic videos (Thenx is my favorite) and look up “grease the groove method” on UA-cam. It’s very similar to what Magnus explained in juji & toms “build finger strength” video where you train 50-80% of your max 4-6 times throughout the day or a 30-60min gap. Good luck!!!

Woah, magnus... You nailed the crap out of that 8... Had my palms sweating... I need some chalk just for watching you climb! That was epic. Also, she already seems much more comfortable on the wall. That was definitely a very big move for someone her size (shorter arms means certain stretches to reach are not easily done) so seeing her not only hold on after the first attempt (and miss) but also to nail it like that on the second reach... Phenomenal! I would definitely like to see you do more lead climbing, and eapecially the overhangs. Not only are you pretty much like spider man on those walls, but you do it so casually. Just take a second to see the options, while hanging on with one hand... You did that multiple times on just that one run. Seeing how "in control" you are when you climb is amazing... How marte was breathing as she tried to clip the top-clip... That would totally be me. I, too, do not do so well with heights... getting up there is much easier for me than getting down... Something about having to "just let go". ... . lol.. Major props to all of you... including the support crew.
