I could suggest "Back to the Future 3" to finish out those reactions. Not to bang a drum, but you two seemed to like the first two, and I know you you kinda got distracted from seeing the 3rd. No worries if you don't want to, I was just wondering. Thoughts? 😁 . A good jumping of point could be the AFI (American Film Institute) top 100 films.
Suggestions: "The Negotiator" (1998) Samuel Jackson and Kevin Spacey square off in the ultimate police negotitation with a hostage taker. "Shoot to Kill" (1988) Sidney Poitier teams up with Tom Berenger to rescue a very young Kristie Alley. I didn't know who Poitier was but I recognized him to be a great actor. "The Thing" (1982) a young Kurt Russell faces off against an unknown enemy in a remote research station in Antartica.
Suggestions: "To Live and Die in LA" (1985) ... little known police, actually secret service, movie with a young Willem Dafoe. The music is by Wang Chung and I think fantastic in many parts of the movie. It also has what has to be the best car chase in any movie at least up to that point. If you have subwoofers in your sound system, this will really make them work at times (BTW the ultimate test of a movie sound system is the beginning of the original Top Gun)
Great react video ladies, thank you! If you have not seen it, would you consider adding Undercover Blues to your watch/react list? Great little film with Dennis Quaid and Kathleen Turner that came out around the same time as My Cousin Vinny.
@@doberski6855 I remember that one good little flick!
Marisa Tomei's Courtroom testimony absolutely made this movie. If you grew up watching re-runs of The Munsters, it was fun to see Fred Gwynne as the Judge.
That testimony pretty much solidified her getting the Oscar that year for best supporting actress.
I wanted to add that too. Also Fred was also known for Car 54 Where Are You", with Al Smith(?) who played Grandpa in The Munsters. Mr. Gwynne also wrote my favorite children's book, "The King Who Rained."
I so love her accent in this 😁
"HowEH-vuh.." 😅
@@alblurky2426 1961-1963 ... I had to look that up as it was before my time and I don't remember re-runs of that.
Gwynne was perfect as the deadpan non-nonsense judge. My favorite line: "Did you say yutes?"
One of the things I love about this movie is that there are no villains. No one is a bad guy, or trying to do the wrong thing. The opponents are just mistaken, and when they see the truth, they change. No one is defeated, everyone wins.
Lol, except for the guys who shot the clerk
The guy in the pool hall is the villain. He definitely gets beat too.
And these types of movies are consequently often my favorite because of this IE: when theres not the typical antagonist vs protagonist narrative structure ...IDK I guess it makes things more interesting somehow. Character growth is more organic or something.
Marisa was awesome. She won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role in this movie.
did she, or did Jack Palance say the wrong name?! Hmmmm! Of course, I'm joking...she deserved it either way!
I like how Vinny's nice to the older lady even though he casts doubt on her testimony.
I mean...thats what lawyers do.
Best supporting actress hands down.
I met the stuttering lawyer, actor Austin Pendelton, in NYC after he finished in an off broadway play. He was the kindest person signing the program booklet. I told him i loved his work in My Cousin Vinny, Short Circuit, OZ tv show, and Sgt Bilko. He seemed genuinely appreciative.
I saw this in the theaters in a LARGE Italian community. It was the funniest theater experience because Marisa Tomei and Joe Pesci reminded everyone of so many people we knew.
My two favorite lines from Marisa Tomei:
"Would you like me to ex-PLAIN?" and "They WUH!".😂
My best friend and I watched this when we were about 14 or 15…we’re 41 now and still say THEY WUH all the time 😂
“Da two yoots “….😂😂😂😂 I always loved that line.
One of my favorite parts is when they are in the cabin in the forest, and Pesci comes out shooting all over the place, and the owl is just right there chillin 😄
My Cousin Vinny is actually part of the curriculum in a majority of law school as it is a great example of the flaws of eyewitness testimony and demonstrates tactful cross-examination
When she said the defense was wrong, it should have been, the prosecution is wrong.
@@garykellam5596 no, because Vinny was the defense and he purposely made up the story about two different guys in the same car, knowing that she would know he was wrong and it was a different car altogether.
@@meganbrick6266
I always wondered why she said the defense is wrong.
This is the first time I found out why.
@@donvito2682 yeah if you watch it back he says that he, the defense, is arguing that two separate groups of guys in identical cars were at the gas station in a short amount of time, and asks her if that could be true. She realizes what he wants her to realize (that there couldn’t have been another Skylark) and so she says no, the defense is wrong :)
So love this movie. Marisa won an Oscar for her role!
This is one of my favorite comedies. It's so great. To this day it still makes me laugh even though I've seen it 100 times. The writing is spot on. The chemistry between Marisa and Joe couldn't be any better. The comedic timing between the characters is nothing but hits. Every joke lands. The jail cell scene is so hilarious, I still crack up watching it...
The entire scene where Vinny goes to prison to see his cousin and friend for the first time had me laughing on the floor. The screenwriting should've been nominated.
My Cousin Vinny is probably in my top 10 all-time favorite movies. I really enjoyed seeing your reactions to my favorite parts in the movie. Thanks again, ladies!
As much as I love Joe Pesci, Marisa Tomei's is the standout role of this film besides she is awesome in everything she does ❤😊.
One thing I like about this movie is that even though they use the clash of cultures between urban north and rural south, it was totally respectable on both - not a Heat in the Night type where the southerners were portrayed as closed-minded.
💯
One of my favorite parts is when the public defender is doing his opening statement. If you look in the background and see Vinnie sleeping while the boys are freaking out, And the looks the first witness gives him during questioning. Cracks me up every time. Austin Pendleton who played him was great in the role. The sheriff played by Bruce McGill was D Day in "Animal House" among quite a few other movies.
I grew up knowing Bruce as MacGyver's friend Jack - always getting Mac in trouble or running some sort of scheme. 😂
Omg i knew the sheriff looked familiar!
Thanks ladies. Marisa tomie won an Oscar gor this
Dang!
This movie has actually been used to teach law classes. I have heard lawyers claim that this is one of the most technically correct trial movies they have ever seen.
What isn't always realized is that Vinnie recognized from the tire tracks and what car made them... he used Mona Lisa's testimony and car knowledge to prove what he saw in the photos/// most think it was Mona that broke the case.. but it was Vinnie.
Yes, they were both care freaks. But I think Lisa actually knew more about cars than Vinny. But Vinny knew she'd see the same thing he did.
Hi Michelle & Natalie!🙂Marisa Tomei actually won an Academy Award for her performance here. When Ralph Macchio's character was on the phone saying ma, ma, we do that too in Boston.😀I had a feeling you ladies would have a good time with this one, taking place in the South. Great reactions to this well made comedy, Ladies!!!!🎬👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thank you!!
I remember the Academy awards that year. Many people thought Jack Palance had accidentally read the wrong name as nobody thought that the winner would be a relative unknown actress in a comedy as she was up against a variety of veteran actresses in more dramatic roles.
Well written comedy and excellent acting all around. Great performance by Fred Gwynne (aka Herman Munster from the 1960s sitcom The Munsters) as the judge
Fred Gwynne who played the judge was typecast for over 2 decades because of his role as Herman Munster on The Munsters... so much so that he initially thought the director of this wanted him to play the judge all goofy like Herman... they had to convince him to play it straight.
This movie shows exactly why you should never talk to the police without your attorney present
The judge did a great job hiding the bolts in his neck.
Numerous Law Schools use this film when teaching Litigation and Proper Courtroom Procedure. Marisa Tomei won three major awards for her performance in this film - including an Oscar as Best Supporting Actress. As a favorite guy-flick, I can attest it was one of our favorite films on an all male offshore crew, and during Marisa's courtroom testimony everybody hushes up and hangs on every word, inflection and expression!
Great reaction ladies. This one never gets old. When Vinny first meets the guys in the prison cell is classic.
Thank you!!
The shot of the owl is one of the great shots of all time.. Lol..
I loved that you both had comments on Marisa Tomei's fashion in this movie. Whoever was in charge of wardrobe deserves 5 hoots! 🧡🖐🥰
Loved her looks!!
One of my favorite comedies. Marisa's mannerisms, the head bobs, hand gestures, eye rolling, are all top notch. I loved how their arguing in the motel room was a form of foreplay for them.
You left out one of the best parts of the movie. The part where he was deciding what pair of pants to wear when he goes hunting.🤣
Things sadly get cut but that’s was good!
@@ForceOfLightEntertainment I completely understand. I'm sure it's always hard to choose which parts to leave in and which parts to leave out
Glad that you guys enjoyed this movie
and thanks to whomever recommended it 💯
"Yah get dat? Da whole store got da flu."
These are always fun.
Legal Eagle had a video recently talking to the guy that wrote this, I didn’t know it was so well liked amongst lawyers.
One of the best movies of all time that isn't action or sci-fi! Joe Pesci is awesome in this. 🎤👇
Nice one. 👍 Every red-blooded guy who ever sees this movie falls just a little bit in love with Marisa Tomei as Mona Lisa Vito.
Truth
I first say this in high school and I remember at the time my mom said something like "It's too bad they said the F word so much because it could have been a Disney movie otherwise." Now that Disney owns Fox it IS a Disney film. lol. It's a film I'll revisit any time I see it on streaming. This film won a few Oscars and I think Joe Pesci was fresh off from the Home Alone films when he made this. It has a clever twit at the end with the trial and it even won a few Oscars. Fred Gwynne was fantastic as the judge as well.
Love the reaction!! ♥ also.... When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
Matthew 9:36
Avoided it when in theater, ended up renting it on VHS one day after someone told me it was worth a watch, they were clearly right. Terrific fish out of water comedy with great performances by Joe Pesci and Marisa Tomei, as well as the rest of the cast including Fred Gwynne who passed away not long after this film was shot. Think one of the main things for me was up until then, I had never thought of Pesci as a comedic actor. Having mostly seen him in gangster dramas where if there was any humor it was of the scary threatening kind. Really wish that there had been a sequel to this one, heard rumors over the years, but either timing or bad scripts kept it from happening.
It's considered a classic now. They even had a musical MCV running in Vegas for a while
this really is a perfect film. it works on every level.
You're one of the few who cought the connection between the prison noise & NY city. 😉
This is a very funny courtroom movie! Marisa Tomei took home the Oscar for Best Actress for her role.
Did she really?!
@@ForceOfLightEntertainment She won Best Supporting Actress for this film. Not Best Actress. Remember, she's not the playing main character. Joe Pesci is.
@@ForceOfLightEntertainment she took a lot of crap for winning it for a comedy role.
@@kissmy_butt1302Jack Palance won for City Slickers and Whoopi won for Ghost. It wasn't because it was a comedic role.
Best SUPPORTING Actress. Still, an Oscar, plus two other major awards.
Great reaction Lovely Ladies. 👌😎 .
Thank you!! 😁
I’ve only seen My Cousin Vinny once and that was over 10 years ago. I have to say that this movie still holds up after all those years. It was great watching the both of you guys reacting to this movie 😊
Thank you!!
I went to cinema to see it with not particularly high expectations. Then I ran back to theater the next day - I loved it that much.
I saw this in the theater when I was 13 and have always loved it. Marisa Tomei is so great. She won the oscar for her performance. Another movie she's great in is Untamed Heart with Christian Slater. It's a tearjerker.
OMG everytime "Ginger" did the hair thing Shhhhaaaa
Im Forrest with Jennaaaaayyy
The judge was played by Fred Gwynn. He was in the sitcom The Munsters. He played Frankenstein's monster. His wife and father-in-law were vampires. His adolescent son was a werewolf. His teenage daughter was a normal blond girl.
The daughter. You mean "the ugly one." 😂
She's was Lilly Munsters niece.
This Is Spinal Tap- Ladies have you seen this very funny comedy? Directed by Rob Reiner. Watching both of you enjoy Holy Grail, I think this “Rockumentary” of a 1984 fictional rock band would be right up your alley. Fun Fact, Ozzy Osborne and Steven Tyler of Aerosmith were two of many musicians that thought it was a real Documentary because it was so close to what a real rock band on the road goes through lol. Very funny movie and a classic. Would love to see you add it to future polls. Thanks for this great reaction!
The judge played Herman Munster in the TV show.
Just discovered the channel, can't decide which one I'm in love with more
The Super is another one worth seeing.
Solid choice, ladies. I didn’t come across this movie until later in life, but it’s definitely a comfort movie I can put on at any time.
yes, he can sleep in the prison because those are sounds he is used to. Take it from a city boy, moving out to the country where its very quiet, strange animal noises when you grow up in the city with city noises is quite jarring. Same with someone from the country moving into the big city. I grew up as a kid in the city across from a prison and hospital. I was used to sirens, noises, all night and slept fine. moved out to the country when i was about 8 and it was the scariest thing, very quiet nights, strange animal noises. Super scary.
Fred Guinn, the actor that played the judge also played Herman Munster.
I saw this while living in Atlanta. My wife and I are of Sicilian decent (2nd Generation American however). We were the only one's laughing. I don't think anyone from Georgia understood it.
I remember when I randomly paid attention to the lineup and realized not only were 5 out of the 7 men 6' or taller (male average is 5' 9") but one of them is a whopping 6' 9". About 1% of men are 6' 4" with that percentage falling more and more every inch onwards. So that one guy is literally one in a million or probably more. lol
A ABSOLUTE MUST WATCH movie. I grew up watching this movie and have watched it over and OVER again. This bis what REAL COMEDY is. And Morissa Tomei,,,,, Nailed It! Great Post, Ladies.
"...in today's world..." we know that 'gun residue' is not necessarily present if you fire a gun. If found, it can be part of the evidence at trial, but, it's absence is not significant. This was actually known prior to the making of this film.
The judge was Herman Munster
"All I know is it stars whatisname from _Karate Kid"._
Well, Ralph Macchio is **in** the picture, but....
Lawyers consider this one of the most accurate movie depictions of courtroom procedure.
I just found your channel. You ladies did an excellent job. God Bless.
Thank you!! 🙏🏻
FYI: Gun residue won't show up if you wore gloves. There would probably be some on your clothes. However, with the eyewitness identification, these kids are getting charged gun residue or no gun residue.
This is the first movie I saw Marisa Tomei in and I am still in love with her :P
I love watching the judge become smitten with Mona Lisa during her testimony
You ladies are the cats pajamas 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
"It is possible that the two yutes..."
"...Ah, the two what? Uh... uh, what was that word?"
"Uh... what word?"
"Two what?"
"What?"
"Uh... did you say yutes?"
"Yeah, two yutes."
"What is a yute?"
"Oh, excuse me, your honor... Two YOUTHS."
I love this movie. There's no real bad guy in this movie (except if you consider the real murderers) and once the innocence of Bill and Stan becomes clear, all charges are dropped.
Fun Fact: The misunderstanding between Vincent Gambini and Judge Haller (Fred Gwynne) regarding the two "youts" was in fact a real conversation between Joe Pesci and director Jonathan Lynn. Lynn, who is British, at first had a hard time understanding Pesci's pronounced New York accent. He decided that the routine was quite funny and put it in the film.
Wise Owl Fact: According to director Jonathan Lynn, the eastern screech owl in the scene in the woods was a real owl that had a little prior training so it wouldn't be scared away by the gunfire. The crew got it to open its mouth by giving it little pieces of beef, and artificially induced screeches were added to the film in post production. The owl's reaction to Vinny (Joe Pesci) shooting the gun was authentic and needed only one take.
Law Enthusiast Fact: Director Jonathan Lynn actually has a law degree and insists the film's legal proceedings be realistic. In fact, many attorneys and law professors have praised the film for its accurate depiction of trial strategy and courtroom procedure, especially with regards to presenting expert witnesses at trial. In fact, the film has been screened at some law schools to illustrate courtroom procedures. The American Bar Association's publication, the ABA Journal, ranked the film #3 on its list of the 25 Greatest Legal Movies.
The judge also played Herman Munster in The Munsters tv show.
When he runs out of the cabin firing aimlessly at the noise I crack up every time.
Wow 2 beautiful women & comedy happy days😘
There was a guy in the news a few years ago who was arrested for stealing a candy bar. The difference is, he was caught on camera taking it deliberately.
Imagine that...the year is 1992, and a major motion picture is released that portrays a women as strong, confident, clever, intelligent, not only mechanically inclined but with wide-ranging expertise and experience and the perfect foil and complement to her partner and it was POPULAR, WELL RECEIVED AND STILL STANDS UP TODAY!!
And then you have some people who say this never happened until current year...

Thanks, ladies, for sharing your reactions to "My Cousin Vinny." If I remember correctly, I first saw and enjoyed it as a VHS rental.
Great reactions. This movie is such a fun watch. Marisa winni the Oscar for this performance was so well deserved.
Thank you!
You ladies are absolutely gorgeous
Mona Lisa Vito. Great character
I was recalling the scene where the judge accused Vinny of mocking him with the suit, and after playing that short, I saw your reaction video. So, yeah, I’m in agreement with your mom in that this a funny movie from my youth. Still funny today, especially when seen through the eyes of first-time viewers. So thanks for that. Until next time ;)
Thanks for watching!!
Don't know if either of you ever heard of an old TV show called the Munsters. The judge (Fred Gwynne) played Herman Munster, the guy who looked like Frankenstein.
Fun fact: Pesci was thought to be too old to be playing Tomei's boyfriend of ten years. To make him look younger makeup gave him a "face job" before shooting his scenes. They literally pulled his face back with tape to smooth out the wrinkles. In some closeup scenes of Pesci you can actually see the crease on the side of his face right by his ear where his face is held back by the tape.
Loved both of your reactions, definitely a great movie. Nothing better than being at the movies with two stunning women. Can't wait for your next reaction.
Thank you!!
The judge played Herman Munster on The Munsters :)
The 2 of Yewts reviewing My Cousin Vinny🥰❤🔥
This is actually one of the most accurate movies when it comes to detailing court procedures and and how to examine witnesses with many lawyers saying that it should be used in law schools to give students an idea of what to expect.
You’re mom has good taste in movies. You should’ve gave her some props for recommending the film
I would recommend 1991 Doc Hollywood with Michael J Fox. It's a great comedy.
Legal Eagle does an interview with the screenwriter for this movie. Very interesting watch!
The thing that made this movie for me was the hidden hero. All through the movie, you have Vinny trying to be successful. Lisa is there, asking if she can help. We don't really know Lisa. Until the end, we don't know that she's into cars; turns out she's a freaking genius mechanic with cars. She's the one you'd want to work on your car at a garage. And the whole movie has her dressed up and gorgeous, giving the impression that she's Lisa, dressed up and gorgeous. But then the reveal at the end, when the prosecution tries to trick her with a bogus question. What would she know, right? She's an unemployed hairdresser. Then she FACES the prosecution. I'm really big on smart, accomplished women; so this is one of my favorites movies. Thanks for doing this one, guys!
In today's world, you know to wash the gun residue off your hand with the hand sanitizer in your glovebox! But, the discovery of gun residue on hands for forensic purposes was used long before this movie, as early as 1933.
The judge is Herman Munster from The Munsters tv show
You two are so funny! i love watching you !
😁😁
Marisa is still my dream girl
The Judge, Fred Gwynn, was the Frankenstein father, Herman Munster in "The Munsters" 1960's TV comedy.
