This is really one of those games that is best played with one person who has played it several times and everybody else being dumb but babysat by the expert, just trying their best for one round. By the end of the round, you’ve got it.
I got this game for my wife for Christmas. We played it three times today. It’s fabulous. The cards are very well themed, the rules are tight, and it’s lots of fun.
Nice overview of the game. I think one of the best challenges many people have with this game is the learning curve. Once you have a general understanding of what is going on then the game is pretty fun.
Anybody having questions about whether or not to buy this game just do it it is so much fun. Me and my husband literally play this game every night after work for multiple hours and have so much fun. If you don’t want to buy the $30 box by one of the smaller starter sets because it has everything you need to play and it comes with three characters. In my opinion the best box is the one with curelle Deville on the front. When we first got the game it only took us literally 10 minutes to figure out how to play and we’ve been playing nonstop ever since it’s so fun.
Am I the only person who seldom understands board game instruction language? Someone has to explain the game to me using none of the instructional terms, 💯 of the time. 😁
Agreed- this is a sketchy explanation at best. It explains nothing of objectives, doesn't explain the purpose or names of the components. As though she was just reading the instructions with no understanding of the game. This instructional could be 10 minutes longer, vs a 1 hour video of them playing the game.
@@buddymorrissey Agree 100%. She should have gone through the basics of the different characters and some of the different areas people have questions about.
You actually have to wait until the END of your turn. If you play a Condition, you'll take your whole turn with just the 3 cards you have remaining, and then draw up at the end of your turn.
This game is so needlessly complex. My husband and I are college-educated adults and we’ve been at this game for hours and I feel nothing but infuriated. It’s not fun and it’s so difficult to understand. How is this a kids game?? Like there’s so many little rules that just aren’t explained. For ex if Kronk becomes a hero it says removing his power doesn’t turn him into an ally so I’m assuming you need to defeat him with other allies but then he goes into your discard pile so how the heck do you get him back into your playable pile and back as an ally? That would take hours if you waited to shuffle him back in. And you NEED him because the only way to win is to defeat Kuzko with Kronk
I think some villains are more complex than they need to be. And some are more fun to play than others. At least each villain has a different objective. Some easier to do than others. And I feel Yzma is one of the harder ones because of your example.
Dibs on Maleficent! She is arguably the best Disney Villian, she is magical, and she didn't actually want to kill anyone: just torture Stephen's son till he grew old, keep Aurora asleep till old age, wasn't even targetting the fairies, and then let the happy couple live out their true love
You're wrong though. Maleficent specifically placed a curse on Aurora that when she pricks her finger, she dies. The good fairy Merriweather changed the curse from death to slumber. You might want to actually watch the movie.
Splitting Headache can discard Neverland Map, but Hangman's Tree isn't locked again. Once Neverland Map is played, the lock token is removed for the rest of the game.
I really wish I had you all to help me play these Villainous games. I have them all but they just sit there because I am so confused. I feel like a fool but I want to play so bad :(
Am I the only one that doesn’t understand this game what so ever? I played with 3 people including me. I was playing as jafar and his goal is to capture genie. Well... genie is a hero and is therefor in the fate deck. Genie can’t even be obtained unless someone fates you and chooses genie to be used. If people know your goal people will decide to not fate you which makes it physically impossible to win because you can’t get genie. Am I missing something? Are people supposed to know their opponents win conditions?
Colin Soileau To obtain the genie from jafar you must open the locked location the board with the scarab pendant, then play the magic lamp to that location. Once you played the magic lamp you must look through the fate discard pile untill you find genie and play him there. Yes, you are allowed to look at the fate cards to find genie
Hi love your video's and love the games but I would like to ask if you my be willing to ask your friends that design board games to make a game about Percy Jackson based on the book series that will be so cool because I haven't seen a game based on the books so if you could let them know that would be amazing. I would also love to see this happen because the Percy Jackson series will becoming to disney plus so it would be amazing to see new things about this and a game to go whit it please and thank you From:Monique Scheepers
Just a question; when you play Hook > how many items (the special items like the canon) can you place at 1 single location? And is it allowed to have multiple allies cards on 1 location (like at Jolky roger)?
You can Vanquish a Hero at any location, not just the location where your mover is. You must use Allies at the same location as the Hero being Vanquished (unless the Ally says otherwise).
Is Hamsterveil a part of the expansion packs or is he forgotten (Note he debuts in Stitch the movie NOT the Lilo and Stitch series) his objective is probably involving his debut or Leroy and Stitch
Yeah, I still don't understand. Tried to play this with my ten year old, and it feels like you keep pulling useless cards you can't play because you have no heroes yet, not enough power, etc.
Card fight vanguard is a awesome card game and could you make a how to play video of it because no one plays so I can't play with anyone and I think if you made a video of it then more people would play the game thank you for considering
After wasting 15 minutes of my life terribly upset watching very poor content explaining the game, I come across this 4 minutes, perfectly put together video. CONGRATULATIONS. Quality content.
Great video on how to play. The game however looks barely interactive and pretty uneventful and a poor attempt at boardless Scythe mixed with boardless Clank! minus the deck building aspect.

If Kingdom Hearts taught me anything, none of the other villains have shit on Malificent.
And she did get her own spinoff movie, so even more points! :D
RIGHT THOUGH?!?!
Madam Mim: "I got more magic in one little finger"
Except she isn't the strongest character in this game
Just wait until the Sephiroth villain in some future Square/Enix expansion

I'm super excited for this game (love Disney Villains) but I just wish Scar and Hades were in it
Let them know! www.wonderforge.com/games/disney/villainous/voting.php
They are now !!! Expansion just released!!!
Hades is in the xpac. Hopefully Scar will be in the next one, want a kitty cat token
Hades is in the expansion pack !
And Scar's been confirmed for the second expansion with Yzma and Ratigan.
Me and a friend bought this game on a whim today and love it!! Way better than I expected all though some rules can be hard to understand

I see this more of a brief overview of the game to see if you like it or not, for me it did that perfectly.
It would be nice if someone would film people actually playing the game and explaining while they play. Because I just don’t get it 🤷🏼♀️
I don't know why, but the presentation is really spot on. I can't really say why. Well done.
I love the idea of the villians winning, for once!
Already pre ordered! So excited! Can't wait to pull this out at game night in a few weeks!
So excited to see Prince John from the animated Robin Hood as an option!
Yes! The best Disney villain
If you play a card from your hand ( condition ) out of turn do you redraw back to 4 or wait to the start of your turn??
You actually have to wait until the END of your turn. If you play a Condition, you'll take your whole turn with just the 3 cards you have remaining, and then draw up at the end of your turn.
Yay. Thank you for this, previously I wasn't finding a minimum player count! This looks so fun.
Quick and to the point. Great tutorial!

Thank you so much my group was struggling to play for like 30 min
are fade deck cards consider 'discarded cards " when a condition card is played?
.
Do you get an power token every turn or only in the first turn?
Thanks!!! This really helped!
They should make and oogie boogie piece
Can you play the forecast of thorns card if a hero is already on a location to defeat a hero?
Dibs on Maleficent! She is arguably the best Disney Villian, she is magical, and she didn't actually want to kill anyone: just torture Stephen's son till he grew old, keep Aurora asleep till old age, wasn't even targetting the fairies, and then let the happy couple live out their true love

Is there a way to unlock actions if it has a lock?
Can splitting headache from captain hooks fate deck remove neverland map. causing location to be locked until retrieved again.
Splitting Headache can discard Neverland Map, but Hangman's Tree isn't locked again. Once Neverland Map is played, the lock token is removed for the rest of the game.
If i had more than one activated ability can i use them al or do i pick one
Ty for great explanation! I was able to stomp as captain hook on my first game ;O
does the hostess come with the game ? I'm in !
So it’s YuGiOh with location and currency mechanics. Lit
thank you so much, this was very helpful!
What happens if the power tokens at the cauldron runs out?
Then you are not playing right.

Felix Does Stuff so you just look through the fate deck? Like there’s no action that is required to get that card? No one has to fate you?
Colin Soileau Once you play the magic lamp at the now unlocked location then you can find genie.

Needs the genius of Professor Ratigan.
Wish granted! The second expansion is going to include him, Scar, and Yzma.

What about Madme Medusa, Frollo, Madam Mim, Lady Tremaine, Clayton, Queen Narissa and Share Khan?

Just a question; when you play Hook > how many items (the special items like the canon) can you place at 1 single location? And is it allowed to have multiple allies cards on 1 location (like at Jolky roger)?
The reference guide says you may have "one or more allies at (a) hero's location" so there's that at least.
Thank God my guy Hook is in this
3:30 I thought it was the same space as your Vanquish button, not the same space as the hero.
You can Vanquish a Hero at any location, not just the location where your mover is. You must use Allies at the same location as the Hero being Vanquished (unless the Ally says otherwise).
yeah really weak instruction... So does move a hero icon mean your guy? or something you drew on them off that fate deck
