The reason Might be, but probably isn't, he is teaching Wrong! At 0:45 he is Pushing and Twisting his foot to make the ski turn and then he demonstrates a parallel turn where he Isn't doing it. They have no idea how to teach you why ski turns and what you need to do to allow it to turn, so they tell you to do what it Looks Like instead of How to position your upper body and change your weight to Allow your ski to turn. The worlds instructors do the same thing! Skiing is all about balancing on one arch after the other with your upper body in a vertical position and facing in the general direction you want to go. Down and across the hill for GS turns, and down the hill for slalom turns. Balancing on one arch is the key to parallel.

@@JB91710 LOL. Bode Miller, Olympic gold medalist, 2 * World Champion, greatest (male) american alpine skier of all time and 1 of only 5 men to achieve world cup victories in all 5 disciplines, has "no idea why a ski turns". But JB91710 of UA-cam does. Right. Even if it were true that he has "no idea why a ski turns", it doesn't seem to have held him back!

@@michaelkbrooks Do you like being a smart ass or do you want to learn something? Just because someone can do something does not mean they have the ability to create a teaching method and explain it to a beginner so THEY will be able to understand it. It takes a Three Dimensional Outside the Box Thinker to do that. There aren't any on UA-cam and next to none in all of skiing. All the world's instructors do is tell you what parts of your body look and feel like and then they tell you to do that. Make it happen. Sorry, teaching goes way beyond that. I started doing it 50 years ago and was a THINKER for 47 of those years instead of a follower. You being mediocre, I don't expect you to understand that. Notice that your channel is a big fat ZERO!

@@JB91710 So, after 47 years of being a "Three Dimensional Outside the Box Thinker", how many medals have you won? How many world-cup winners has your method produced? A "big fat ZERO", to use your terminology. Fact is, people learn to ski every day, and they don't need JB91710's special method to do it.

@@JB91710 Oh I see, you're crazy. I note from your UA-cam channel that not only have you created the "Best Ski Teaching Method in the World", you've also created the "best Fire Fighting Tactics in the world.". But wait, there's more! You also claim "I know how to Fix The Human Race! ". Well, lucky us! JB91710 is really a multi-talented individual! Interesting that your ski-teaching method is so great, that you've gotta beg for money on Patreon, meanwhile Bode and his coaches are world-famous and living the dream.

Snowplow and Stem Turns should have stopped being taught since the beginning of the 21st century.
The fact that the world of skiing is still teaching it just shows that they are Two Dimensional Reactors instead of Three Dimensional Thinkers.
Skiing is, facing down the hill while balancing from one foot to the other which is what the skis need from you to allow them to make the turns.
So why would you take a ski like that and force it to turn by pushing it away from you and twisting it?
When they ski for themselves, they aren't skiing with anything remotely like snowplow turns!
In my 54 years of teaching, people have been trying to stop stemming and twisting so they can make parallel turns. So why ruin them for life just so they can change direction faster?
Shaped skis are easy to turn Just by balancing on them one at a time. Just like they showed you. All you have to do is practice balancing on one in a traverse and learn how to make them stop. Then make a steeper traverse, face down the hill and change your weight to your uphill ski and that ski will make a turn for you. Just like they did.
You can think and learn, or be a sheep and follow your heros. While you are struggling with your snowplow turns and then fighting to stop doing them, your instructor will be on the chair counting your money.
