Didn't realize this video randomly shot up in views so thank you everyone! I'm just going to comment this here instead of replying to everyone: 1. This video is part joke/part review on an obvious snake oil product. Window repair is absolutely a thing, but you're not going to get that from a cheap off brand kit from Amazon 2. The cracks on the windshield were well within the supposed ability of repair on the kit. It was obviously never going to fix cracks that bad, but the kit advertised that 3. I only followed the instructions the kit gave me, a true review going in blind with only what the kit provides and the information the kit provides. Applying pressure from the back would have probably absolutely helped like some of you have suggested, but the kit instructions said nothing of the sort (hard to access the windshield from inside at that point anyways, the car was fully caged and doors were chained shut) 4. This was for my race car because safety tech said the cracks got too big, I already knew I'd have to take the windshield out so figured I'd try this to see if it could hide the cracks for one race at least (bad of me I know) before I switched from glass windshield to metal mesh screen
Multi surface cleaner you may as well sprayed it with wd 40, all glass you clean with alcohol goes for phone screen repairs too. You apply in the shade , , apply film you rub in liquid into the crack through the film to force liquid into the cracks, move car to direct sunlight for UV , not a lot of UV happening in the shade. It never had a shot the moment multi surface cleaner was used it contains "Lauryl Polyglucose" which is made from coconut and palm oil. The reason why multi surface cleaner is safe on wood.
Along with what everyone else here said, the real point of this type of repair isn't to make the glass look new again, It's to stop the crack from spreading further every time you hit a bump. If used correctly IE enough sunlight or a UV gun, proper alcohol cleaning, Pressure inside of car on glass and such it will work to make cracks look at least a little better, but more important It will stop the crack from growing..
Usually I get pissed off when people waste 7 minutes of my time, but you were so funny that I kept cracking up the whole time, so I gave you a thumbs up and shared your video to a few of my friends
always wash with alcohol. and no matter what the cracks will remain , the idea is to fill the opening to keep from expanding and water getting in. and major cracks are stretching repair capability . i say for stone chips probably ok cracks over inch no. now here is something good in Florida if you have state required ins. your windshield's covered you don't need comp or collision to either have it fixed by glass co or windshield replaced. i lived in pa and you needed comp . which used to be 50 buck ded now more like 250-500 but they might pay for pro chip fix . other states check with agent might get surprise side or back window you need comp for track car find out if it passes track inspection cracked or fixed
I’ve tried it. Applying it with the same method you did. In the sunlight with the plastic cover and it still barely got the scratch out of my windshield on my car. So yeah I agree with you man
You should have read the ad before buying. I have been doing windshield repairs for years and have never seen a DIY windshield repair kit designed for cracks or chips that go through both layers of glass. Also, the purpose of the plastic strips is to force the glue into the crack as you press down.
Pressure is not enough because you have to get the air off from the crack and replace it with the resin. To do it preperly, you would have to pull around and above the crack and allow the air to boil out of the resin (without exposure to UV light this far because once the top surface of the resin is exposed to UV light, it no longer passses air).
Yeah. You should have read the instructions, INCLUDING the steps 1 and 4, and perhaps recalled school physics on figuring the strength of UV light... Because you first filled your cracks with liquid cleaner and dirt, and then wanted the glue to get in there? And then you didn't do step 4 - slightly pressing on the glass from the inside to let the glue get sucked into the crack... Then you were did not expose the repair to strong enough UV light (the Sun was behind the car and setting, while it should have been in front or above the car, to provide sufficient UV radiation). Having said that: perhaps your kit was useless anyway. We'll never know.
You left out part 4 which is you're supposed to use an object that will not damage the glass and press against the Gap in the glass to remove the air from the damaged areas and that's after you put that film on
You suppose to run the blade across the film to get the resin into the cracks. Not sure if the results would be any better in your case. If it doesn’t get rid of the cracks at least it might prevent the cracks from getting worse
You where supposed to put pressure on the inside of the windshield to open the crack up,that’s how you get it inside the crack otherwise your just putting it over it then you scrape it off and it’s back to square one
With such a huge cracks, no magic will help and you have to replace the glass. The common guideline for this kind of repair kits is that the whole visible damage, including the cracks, must be small enough to fit under the biggest coin in your pocket. Anything bigger than that, the changes of getting nice results is slim to none.
I’m not a rocket scientist, but I can clearly hear he’s digging the blade back into the crack. The idea is to straddle the crack with the razor blade as to not let the razor dig into the crack.
This product worked great for me, not as good of an applicator though as the rain x kit. You really have to push the crack open from the back side of the window gently so it fills the crack. Unfortunately when I did I made the crack one inch larger and had to use a drill bit to relieve the pressure and it stoped cracking when I pushed hard against the glass . Then I filled the self inflicted chip. You can barley see the crack because the resin filled the crack most of the way. I tried to fill a crack without pushing from the backside of the windshield and the resin just wouldn’t fill the crack & didn’t help . I would buy the repair kit again for $12 . It costs me $12. If I had to spend $18 I’d buy it from the store in name brand that starts w a P ends w a Tex . Overall I’m happy but I bought a rain kit w X applicator for filling the crack that I couldn’t fill myself by pushing the back of the window. It’s best to use the rain X applicator that injects resin in the crack . I used the syringe that came with it to fill the cracks I made and when it filled them it always filled 1/2in of the crack so I know it’s working properly. It’s probably the same resin in all the kits. And if it gets on your skin it burns if you leave it
why would I follow instructions from someone who tried to tuck a wire under the windshield ? and at that point it isn't a cracked windshield ,it's more of a windshield replacement.
I see many people blame for not using the correct way, for not respecting the instructions etc. Question is: did this product work for anybody? Did people who used it the right way have satisfying results? If somebody had really good results, please let us know!
My objective was never to somehow magically make cracks disappear in my windshield. My mission was to prevent those cracks from running, and so far they have not. I have an '89 Chevy Van with a star crack at the very edge of the driver's side of my windshield. I made the repair in September, 2023, and the 9 separate cracks ranging from 1 to 5 inches from the point of impact have not run at all to this point as of January 27, 2024. Mission accomplished.👍
Let me simplify the issue. Glass is a replacement item. It’s much better just to spend and replace. Currently I’m witnessing a fill that fails a month down the road. Now the issue is how much to replace.
Total disregard for the instructions. And you filled the cracks with glass cleaner first before you tried to slobber the resin into the cracks all without applying pressure to the back side of the glass. lol But, we've all had our own bad experiences with stuff because we didn't read the instructions. lol
You should have done some research on the proper method before trying it. Not possible to have good result with the way you did it. Detail is everything with windshield repair.

Yea , ur diagnosis doesn't make much sense if u read it carefully . You left a lot out so I wouldn't be too cocky
Very funny, 'its shit, don't buy it'. Best kind of review, straight to the point 👍

Maybe?but it dosent work as advertised is the point,it’s crap, wish I had not bought it ,hope this stops others from wasting their money!

Merci pour cette vidéo, j'avais justement l'intention d'acheter ce produit sur Amazon, grâce à vous j'évite de me faire avoir.
👍👍👍
your crack is too tight for the resin to flow. you need to drill the edge of crack line using tiniest drill bit and let the resin flow.
You cannot just apply it on the surface. Pressure is needed to press this liquid inside the crack. Also they do this in full sun because of UV
Pressure is not enough because you have to get the air off from the crack and replace it with the resin. To do it preperly, you would have to pull around and above the crack and allow the air to boil out of the resin (without exposure to UV light this far because once the top surface of the resin is exposed to UV light, it no longer passses air).

I ran the bottom of the resin container across the top seemed to help most.

top to bttom…
… does bttom to top. lol
good vid 👊🏼
You are one funny guy. Yo will probably do quite well doing some more funny review videos

Thanks man for this video.
I used to buy another brand . It s the same shit.
So I am not gonna waste my money for this one.😂
Thanks
Thank you for testing out the product
That work good for chips..not so much for big crack's...

TOURE SUPPOSED TO COVER THEM AS YOU GO ALONG !
wonder if because you sprayed it. says only clean the periphial of crack
why would I follow instructions from someone who tried to tuck a wire under the windshield
? and at that point it isn't a cracked windshield ,it's more of a windshield replacement.
Thanks for showing me. LOL.

It's same principle as washing Ur car start at the top working Ur way down.the soap and dirt go down the way less wastage and doubble work.
A complete scam. I bought that crap 2 weeks ago it did not worked. A complete cash grab scam.
Didn’t turn your car into a yellow Lamborghini bro. Clearly
From top to bottom, so just go from bottom to top fuck the instructions

Quel prodotto non va bene . Ho provato prima e niente. Ho comprato un kit su Amazon 15$ e adesso non si vede nulla.

Just use the hammer 🔨 and replace the damn windshield
I did lol, the car eventually got the classic dirt track chicken wire windscreen
Maldición! lo acabo de comprar jajaja
You should have done some research on the proper method before trying it. Not possible to have good result with the way you did it. Detail is everything with windshield repair.

Better try using the product in the proper way... Results are certainly different. ;-)
Copious amount added. 😮 Use your bare fingers 🤌. Small section at a time. What the rush. You need your windscreen to change out for sure.
