The reason isn’t only because he has no national titles, it’s that he has had so many ELITE teams and still doesn’t have one. This is Ohio State not Colorado or Boise State.
3 playoff losses and teams who finished 3, 3, 1. 8, & 24. 8 losses and the worst one is to a ranked team. In that same time span, Kirby Smart lost to a South Carolina team that finished 4-8. Saban lost to a 8-4 Texas A&M. It’s not easy replacing an elite coach. Alabama hired a guy who was 25-3 at Washington and coming off a National Championship Game appearance and it isn’t going smoothly.
as an ohio state fan i think ryan day is a good coach and i dont want him gone. however, he loses a lot of important games by super close margins and i think he just doesn't have it in him to really come in clutch when he really needs to. hopefully that will improve this season
His first game vs Michigan is how he will fare vs them going forward. Michigan needed COVID and Connor to sort of reset their program, and now they have reset again for the worst
Beating who you're supposed to beat at OHIO STATE is not a positive lol recruiting doesnt matter if the man cant coach his team to win the big games. Its the same story every year.
I completely, vehemently disagree. "Oh they win 99% of their games, they don't know how good they have it" is such a weak argument. How many big games does he have to lose before it isn't good enough anymore? Who cares if Ohio State can trample the middling B10 teams if they can't beat Michigan in the last 4 years, if they keep losing in big moments like to Oregon last weekend. Especially when it's due to huge coaching errors like leaving a 1 point game with a timeout in your pocket. Sure, they win 10 games at the minimum, but they ALWAYS look unprepared and undisciplined when it matters most. And that's on Day.
i work at chipotle and it we were short staffed tonight, if anyone has any way to contact ryan day i'd be more than happy to set up an interview for him!
Thank you, im pretty sick of ohio st fans wanting him gone. They dont know how good they have it
The spend millions on there roster and don’t even know how to win a game in the tip of his hands
I just want to know what realistic replacement they think there is that would come even close to satiating them
Things are not headed in the wrong direction with seasons of 11 and 12 wins. Sincerely, Nebraska Fan
2007 was Les Miles, Nick Saban was like 2003 I believe.
Yea 2007 was the first year Saban was with Alabama
