There's no tons of negativity in people, places and events here in Philippines, if have any, it is common and normal like in any other countries in the world.
I don't feel like Mike or Nelly owe us an explanation of their breakup. I don't want them to feel burdened. It's hard enough as it is on the individuals involved and it won't get any easier if we're constantly pestering them about it.
Yup and what else to explain. A couple broke up for a simple reason, they fall out of love. Good thing they didn't have a kid. Usually if couple have kids it will be a little harder for them to separate for kids sake. Good for them for choosing to live not just to survive.

My husband, who just recently passed on last Feb. 2022, and I got married in our very late 30s, which I thought at that time we've prepared ourselves well enough to tie the knot. We've been married for over 21 years. It was a blissful marriage anyone could ever envy. But halfway through that, tiny cracks began to surface. I ignored them thinking nothing by them, until all the cracks finally broke the marriage, too broken that it was too late to start over as he died very soon. The lesson is that, we cannot rush time when it comes to marrying. Both party needs to be in sync. When doubts and hesitations begin to creep in eventually or along the way, it is only but wise to forego the marriage.
Tbh, this is somewhat disheartening. After 21 years of marriage, cracks appear. One would think the married couple whose marriage has lasted this long would already be in sync with each other. But I guess you never really completely know another person even if he is your husband. Worse, when the cracks appear, there is no resolution because he dies. I'm on my 21st year of marriage myself . . . It hasn't gotten any easier . . .
