I've had T for 40 years. Mostly mild at first. 2006 due to loud noise exposure it went through the roof. Thought about bridge jumping. Wore ear maskers every day for 2 to 3 years. Took them off one day and never put them back on. T was no longer a major issue. I think Robbie is on a faster track than me. I didn't really have any outside help and not sure how much was available 15 years ago. What is being said on this video is absolutely true for me. I can honestly say my T went from an 8 to a 2 and somedays not even there. ALWAYS CARRY EAR PLUGS WITH YOU.
This video is spot on! After having t for about 20 years i know that recovery from suffering are a mindset journey. This video sums my own experience very well! Best wishes from Sweden 🇸🇪
There is a huge lack of education and understanding in the ENT community. ENTs are brilliant surgeons and excellent at putting in cochlear implants etc. They are not therapists and often do not know how changeable the auditory system is and how hugely reactive it is to stress and fear and anxiety. If they understood this they would not drop bombshells all the time. If they bothered to check up on how people responded to negative messaging they would stop this immediately. Therapists work with people on an on-going basis and know their client's process much more thoroughly.
Thank you for your story. I have always been very protective of my ears. I had gotten sick became extremely dehydrated anxiety set in along with depression and for a bonus I ended up with tinnitus. I would like to add that my husband has tinnitus also and has perfect hearing. So the doctor put me on Paxil medication and a benzo to help relax me. I am working my way off of the medication and concentrating on magnesium Glycinate from bulk powder. I lost over 100 pounds went carnivore. Eat a lot of butter to calm my adrenals down. I am stuck in this fight or flight feeling which I believe is causing my tinnitus. I have had this one year today. I also take taurine. Iodine for your thyroid which is the master gland. Hope this information helps. No more junk food. Coffee. I believe through God‘s help we all will get better but we have to do our part and taking care of our bodies. Eliminating people out of our lives that causes a stress. Just left them from a distance. Thank you again you are a real blessing love all that you had to say.
What a lovely and response and how inspiring to share part of your story as well! Very inspiring for all of us! So happy for you that you were able to lose 100 pounds! WOW that's awesome and it really sounds like you are exploring every option to ease your tinnitus. Thank you for your response, I am praying for you on your journey!
Mr Hill gives me hope he's the best makes you feel you can get better which is what you need very badly. And what he says is very true positive attitude.
Thank you bro, this really helped me out. It's inspired me and gave me the confidence to be the best version of myself. I have a slight hiss which I've had now for 5 weeks and is more noticeable when I focus on it in a quiet room. I know I can get through this, so I will take on everything you have said and fully start my journey! The first 3 weeks was a nightmare, I was stressed, lack of appetite and was always aware and conscious of what it was, which made it louder. In fact I was stuck in this fight or flight response and even now I feel like any little thing could set it off again which makes me anxious still. The positives are that I've seen some improvement the past 2 weeks, that's with me staying busy and not focusing on it, when I do I try my best to stay calm and relaxed about it, its all about retraining your mind that its not a threat! As mentioned, I really thank you for sharing your story and I will update everyone on how I get on also!
You totally have this! Your strong will and determination to enhance your life because of tinnitus defines how strong your mind is! Great job, great attitude! You will recovery! This sound will go! It’s boring and irrelevant, your mind will get tired of focusing and feeding into it over time! Praying for you on your journey! Robbie
Hello Adam, I too have a hising sound for 1month and half.. How are you doing now? First month was horrible now the sound is still there but I am a little more calm
@@SecDirect700 what has made yours reactive? I had the same sounds since 2019 and all of a sudden in January I had a spike or something happened this extra pitch comes and goes it’s driving me insane it like reacts to a car driving by or the tv i was perfectly hibituated before
From one Rob to another and one tinnitus sufferer to another you rock brother. 3 months in I'm learning a lot about myself. I Just downloaded the Quietten app and went straight to Julian technique level 1 -stuck just by listening to his positive tinnitus affirmation brought me to tears. I believe, I believe I believe. "This sound will go, and my mind will move on and focus on other more important things" Powerful. Thank you, Julian, thank you Rob let's keep up the positive mindset going. Regards from Nashville TN.
Great Job Rob! Trust me I promise you it will backoff, one way or another! Remember this started for me 11/2022, I have a bit of experience under my belt! Your mind will adapt it complicated to explain but it will more or less filter out the sound. Keep working on Quieten, work with Julian. Praying for your expeditious recovery and no matter what you think, it is going to happen! Don't push too hard! This is a process it takes some time! Focus in other directions!
@@SecDirect700 Hello Rob hope this message find you well. Curious to know how your improvement is going since you posted the video. I find your words encouraging when I am having a challenging day. Sidenote here, this has been an eye opener for me turns out I am pre diabetic and high cholesterol. Did a 180 on that along following a diabetic diet, cut ALL the sugar from my life as well, no red meat as well and exercise to be here for as long as I can for my small children and wife who has been more than phenomenal. Thinking about posting my own but hesitant at the moment. In any case regards and hope you are improving well. Maybe you can post another and let us know how you are doing along. Roberto
@@robval7465 Hi Rob, well done! You are on the path to recovery! In answer to your question, I am doing amazing! my tinnitus has really reduced dramatically, most days hardly notice it, especially compared to what I came from! Tinnitus has ironically changed my life for the best, a healthometer as Julian says, and a true-life coach for me. It really is an amazing thing when I sit back and think about it! There is no way I would have ever made all the major improvements in my life/life change had I not developed tinnitus. I understand how difficult this condition is during the first year of development and I stand strong in telling everyone, that it is all going to be okay, and that you will recover! I can't preach it enough, use this sound to enhance and change your life! Tinnitus proves to everyone what your made out of and what you can change into! I am truly grateful to Julian, he gave me the tools, the inspiration and the knowledge that I needed to arrive here! Wishing you an expedited recovery and believe me you will recover! Youve got this! @@SecDirect700I've had no ringing today and if some it was very low. Glory be to GOD and all the positive remarks. I know it will return and I will be mentally prepared. Thank you Robbie Shore for your video. I’ve tried everything and every doctor with no success and I thought I was doomed. You’ve given me some hope and I know I can’t recover alone while there are so many stressors around me. It feels like I found a friend. I just started listening to Julian Cowan Hill and now I will continue. Your positive support means everything. I’ve saved your video and am sure I’ll be listening to it many times. 😊
Glad Robbie's video is helping. You may find the app www.quietenapp.com helpful. Plenty of support there if need be, either group or online one to one. Best wishes Julian
Dianne, I am so glad that you found comfort in my video! Please follow Julian, he is phenomenal. He is very calming and experienced with tinnitus. You will recover, just take it slow and easy on yourself and send positive messages back to your subconscious that everything is going to be okay. Your mind is the most important tool in managing and recovering from your tinnitus. I am praying for your expeditious recovery. God bless Robbie
A week in with T and listening to this definitely put me in a way better mood, now to trust the process and hope everything goes as planned, My T tends be worse when I lay down, or when it gets quiet, your story definitely motivates me to get better and checking out that app
Yeah because when you focus on it, it gets louder. Anxiety wants your attention, your full attention. What helped me relieve a lot of anxiety is filling my mind with positive content
Thank you for such an optimistic and promising attitude to tinnitus. I, for one, gleaned some very good ways to adjust to this very debilitating suffering through your optimism. I am trying with a lot of kind people on the internet and shared stories , to adjus reasonably to this new situation. Keep up the good work, we need more people like you to ride alongside our sufferings!
Nobody understands tinnitus until they have it! It can be quite soul shattering and breaking at first! Those feelings will subside overtime and you will adjust as it's all very new! Eventually your brain will give up trying to fight it and fix it, you will let go of your tinnitus and it will let go of you! You will not be beholden to it! Yes, you will have days were its perceived louder and lower, spikes are common. Yes, there will be days and many moments that you are annoyed and frustrated by it! But over time it will become somewhat irrelevant! Stress and diet do play a key factor! Sounds to me like you are doing a great job! Use masking and alternative coping mechanisms, to relax your mind. Yawning, Slow Breathing Deep Stretching. Taking Showers, switching them from Cool to Warm, Hot to Cold. Good to meditate and go for walks and exercise. Distraction is best while habituating. Julian Cowan Hill is great, he was a huge resource for me! Quieten is a wonderful mobile application that will help the process. keep up the great work! Praying for your expeditious recovery! - Robbie
God bless you brother. I really needed to hear this. Thanks to Mr Jillian also. I have heard him too. Thanks to you guys for helping lot of tinnitus sufferers.
I just want to share my story as it’s so similar. I got told I had a retina tear and I could go blind from a routine eye appointment. I went into panic mode went home and then discovered I had a ringing in my left ear. I had laser surgery and my eye is all good. The ringing was caused by my nervous system! The sheer panic! I never noticed it before until this day no loud noise. Anyway 10 years later I was in an optician and read a poster about the retina this sent me into panic hight anxiety again! Didn’t notice my ear or ringing as I was so focused on my eye, didn’t sleep for 3 months - most people won’t believe this but I was wired. Without going into detail this was a tough time, but I made it though as I had a good support network. Although the non sleep and stress changed me and has given me anxiety. Especially towards my health. Anyway, life has carried on. Until Recently two weeks ago I was drilling and this created a really high pitch noise to the point I stopped and put some ear plugs in! I know I should have done this first but wasn’t concerned as I had totally forgotten about tinitus. Anyway 5 days later I got woken up by a vibration in my ear I panicked as it was their in the morning I couldn’t sleep. I was focused on the noise hyper vigilance was through the roof. I then noticed the vibration went and I’ve now got a loud hissing! However, I think this has always been their but I didn’t notice this as I can only explain it like a loud silence a loud static noise I suppose. Sometimes it can overpower everything and other times I can tune it out. I’m learning to re adjust but I just wanted to say it’s the stress response to the noise that amplifies it. As I wasn’t hearing the hissing I was listening for the vibration! . Also, I’ve gone for 10 years without really hearing my tinitus. I’m confident this will pass as I can forget about it my conscious mind checks and I hear it! Once the flight response reduces it will disappear. Remember the brain is amazing and everything that has been discussed in the video is so true! Thanks for posting this video and taking the time to help people! Your situation reminded me so much of my journey.
This was an excellent video! Thanks for sharing your story Robbie! It was so authentic, informative and inspirational! God bless you and everyone one that watches this video. May we all continue to heal and restore our mind, body and spirit 🙏🏼☀️🦋
Ken, Thank You! I know Julian's style and process works, because I have recovered and continue to recover. As a professional therapist Julian's approach to tinnitus is extremely methodically. His own personal experience with tinnitus and curing himself speaks volumes! By using Quieten and working with Julian my volume has dropped by 75% from where this started for the majority of the time. I even have true dead silent days, I do have spikes, depending on how I sleep, my stress level & diet which is key, and how I react to it, and other factors that play into tinnitus which is normal. However, I NO longer have hyperacusis. All within 3 1/2 months thanks to Julian and Quieten. I cant recommend him and his program enough to all of the suffers in the tinnitus community! My thoughts and prayer are with you and everyone who is trying and can and will recover. - GOD BLESS! All The Best Robbie

Great personal account of your Tinnitus journey Robbie, I loved your passionate message! Im recovering from Eustachian Tube Dysfunction and Tinnitus since last October. Ive seen Audiologists and ENTs and been given a clean hearing each time on the hearing tests. I had some tough spikes in November but in general seem to have been on the road to recovery. However last Week my Right Ear started to flutter and hasn't stop! I hope this isn't MEM Tinnitus as it means I have something new to deal with and this has caused my left ear to flare up! I realise after your passionate video about your road to recovery that Julians advice is a massive key to getting better and claming the nervous system down. Im fortunate that Im from the UK and live in London so I can get a personal session with Julian to help me to recover and calm my nerves down! This conditon can be a massive challenge to deal with in the begining but we must always remember that living in Fear never helps us in any walk of life. Acceptance that we are on a roller coaster that has its ups and downs but remember that we can start to changing how we experience this ride and start to enjoy and relax this adventure! Once we embrace the adventure then our nervous system will start to calm down and even get bored of this ride! We all must keep looking at the bigger picture and realising we can all self heal by seeking help from Julian Cowan Hill and Dr Ben etc! I also recommend Jaye Wellness Studio channel, he does and amazing amount of eductional videos on ETD, TInnitus and self recovery! Enjoy the rest of your adventure on self recovery Robbie!
Wicked Man: Thank you for the compliment, So Glad to hear that you are recovering from Eustachian Tube Dysfunction! That is GREATNESS!! You see how you say: I hope this isn't MEM Tinnitus as it means I have something new to deal with and this has caused my left ear to flare up! Thats all FEAR, ANXIETY and STRESSING of the next potential problem relating to your Tinnitus. Remember those type of SPLIT messages subconsciously send the signal to the LIMBIC System & the Central Nervous System; cycling you back into the Stress Response and flaring up your Tinnitus. First off you are going to recover and most importantly don't be afraid or let those thoughts get in your head; that extends your tinnitus spike! Definitely keep up with your ENT Doctors because you had a legitimate physical condition that played a huge role into tinnitus, but PLEASE do not worry about the sound. LET IT GO! Maybe tonight if you relax enough and breath, stretch, and have a yawn fest, be mindful, take a shower: slowly switching it from hot to cold, warm to cool as Julians says will open up your lymphatic system and relax your parasympathetic nervous system! Really deeply relax and listen to Julians Voice and just know that everything is okay, maybe tomorrow you will wake up and your Tinnitus will stop fluttering in your right ear, and if it doesn't tomorrow, perhaps the next day! But it will GO! You know this is a changeable condition; because it simply is! Our real inner voice, those thoughts inside that split mind of ours... THE WILL THIS THING EVER GO?? - OR - OHH NO, IT MAY GET LOUDER? or OH GOSH I HOPE ITS NOT SOMETHING ELSE? Is all part of the problem! We all do this it's Human nature! Reconditioning your mind to be positive day in and day out, exercising, dieting, living life to its fullest everyday helps our Tinnitus recovery! As Julian says: thoughts are like train stations: in comes the train, onto the Negative Train of Thought and off we go!!! Get on the positive train, because you are going to recover! Julian's Advice and Direction are KEY in Recovery! The rest is up to each and every one of us as individuals! You're in my prayers! Keep up with QUIETEN, UA-cam and your sessions with Julian, your definitely extremely blessed to be in the UK and see Julian in person! Thanks for the Recommendation on Jaye Wellness Studio Channel! - Wishing you All The Best - YOU WILL RECOVER!! - From 1 Tinnitus Suffer To The Another, - Robbie.
How are you doing now? I also gave Eustatian Tube Dysfunction (or so I was told) and I also have fluttering sound on my left ear which comes and goes in days. Is you tinnitus like a staticky sound?
Thanks Robbie for sharing this video I found very expiring . Thank you .I have known Julian since my tinnitus started in 2017. He is the only person I trust and I invite people to follow is advices too. He is such a wonderful man and I thank God I met him during my difficult time .

Great story. It seems that everybody has a certain amount of tinnitus but certain times things happen where it gets out of hand and so do we as far as handling it. It seems that we get it, it scares us, the more scared we get the more we notice it and the louder it seems to get until we attempt to stop the panic. Stopping the panic is the hardest thing to do until we can get a handle on it. I'm happy for you.
Oh my goodness I’m literally in tears, I’m so grateful for Julian, Ben and stories like yours, I’m just coming into this it started with Tonic Tensor Tympani, now tinnitus, but all of this your saying gives me hope and helps me learn coping mechanisms and be at peace in knowing be present in my situations don’t let them I overtake me and learn to be at peace

Robbie, thank you for this testimony and articulating the frustration and confusion. Julian's work has been very critical to my process and I needed a boost back out of the negativity relapse and despair that I will never get better. This morning I went right to the Quieten App and I agree there is so much hope. In my case seven years of legal issues, relocation, complicated grieving and post pandemic adaption/isolation have extended my process. I know I am not alone with work like Julian's and stories such as yours.
Hello Beatriz, #1 You know you are going to RECOVER! The best part of all of this is you know and acknowledge what is going on! It takes months for the new tinnitus developer and years for the stuck tinnitus suffers to even consider that once medically cleared: tinnitus can actually be caused by Stress, Anxiety, Chronic Stress, Depression, PTSD, Negative Thinking, Catastrophizing thinking etc. Recovery also takes a long time as our bodies have had hard years of internal stress. But please do not ever place time frames on your recovery! Go at your pace! The confusion of tinnitus, the stress, the worry, anxiety, annoyance and frustration, sadness, isolation, depression are all the common symptomatic traits along with diet and life style that really push into Tinnitus! Without a doubt Stress is a Killer! The pandemic really emotionally, physically and financially pounded into everyone. That was a land mark change in our society and a complete and total daily stress and fear for 2 1/2 years being drilled into everyone's subconscious mind. Talk about forcing your central nervous system & limbic system into Fight or Flight or Hyperstimulation. Remember people Get Heart attacks from stress, brain aneurysms, strokes, high blood pressure, bone diseases, Acid Reflux, Gastro Intentional Problems, Nervous & Anxiety Disorders, Cancer, and the list goes on. When you really think about it, it is no surprise that a portion of the population has developed tinnitus as a stress related condition. Unusual to say but comparatively I would much rather have tinnitus. But it is a condition that a bare minimum is very changeable, reduced volume based on stress, and habituation are the most common recoveries. However, silence is extremely achievable and I have silent days or near to depending on my stress leave. Total silence is completely possible. We have to be emotionally selfish and love ourselves and work on being positive listening to our tinnitus rather than fighting it, or being frustrated by it or let it play games with our mind. Julian's Book From TYRANT to FRIEND really is my personal position in dealing with my Tinnitus. Changed my life for the best! I was at a 10 yesterday sounded like GONGS were going off in my head. Got some bad news that my cat, who is my best bed 8 1/2 has cancer. Only so much you can do to control your stresses in life. But after not feeding into my tinnitus and following all of Julian's Teaching on how to manage a Tinnitus spike I relaxed, yawned stretch, became mindful and today I am at a 1 or 2. Your doing a great Job! Be positive DO NOT BE SPLIT, you are going to continue recovering. Try not to overly stress yourself everything eventually works itself out. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Wishing the best on your continued recovery - Robbie
17:35 holy crow, Rob, you’re so right. I am newly afflicted, and joined an online group. It was so negative and actually made me feel more hopeless. I downloaded Julian’s app and am going to begin the Matrix this evening. Thank you so much
2 years with T, which came on suddenly. I was in a dark place for weeks, my hearing was good no loss at all. I was told by ENT to get on with it. Julian Hill and his videos and advice was a god send for me. His advice was invaluable and I followed his instructions and it really helped me and I am able to function normally. I also listen to masking sounds by Dalesnale.
Christine, so glad to hear that you have no hearing loss and that you are able to function normally and got out of that dark place! ENT's and Doctors really aggravate me here! They do this all the time: Those very words "Get on with it" are so dangerous and push so many tinnitus suffers needlessly over the edge! They really need to take more accountability and caution in their medical practices and be mindful of what they are saying to patients who newly develop this condition! Julian is amazing, I couldn't agree more, he definitely saved me! He has a video that I love where he basically tells the Doctors and ENTS to STOP DOING THIS! Dalesnale is awesome! What he is doing for the tinnitus community is huge! I am not sure where you are at in your recovery but please keep positive and remember what Julian says: You can make a complete recovery from tinnitus. You are in my thoughts and prayers for your full recovery! Keep going strong & Thank you for watching and commenting! Wishing you all the best "GOD BLESS" - Robbie
@@franciscavalencia3001 I believe you have to stay calm and take each day as it comes. Don't worry about tomorrow you have to be in the present time. Breath, try to be still, meditate and stop your mind from racing and thinking about negative thoughts. You will begin to hear your sound less and it becomes softer. Please watch and listen to Julian he is the expert. Do Not watch or listen to negative channels on UA-cam it doesn't help and will stress you out. Distract yourself listen to music, walk, exercise go out for meals. Do not sit alone and listen to your T, it does not help. Good luck, be positive and watch Julian.

Man thanks for making this video , I am 2 months into this thing. It's has me flipping and tripping. Almost crying that I'm dying. This is positively helpful information restoring real hope.😅
My tinnitus just started a couple weeks ago. It’s medication induced. I was on a med and did fine, then the dose got increased and this. I actually have a quite-peaceful life. It came upon me like lightening BAM! It’s one ear and I a desperate for help Thank you so much.
Hi Jaime, generally Otoxic medications that cause tinnitus generally reverse themselves over a period of time, unless there is permanent damage to your hearing cilia or cilium hairs for that matter. The key now is how to manage and cope with your tinnitus until it backs off or goes away completely. It is a process as it phreaks everybody out for substantial reason when this condition starts for "Whatever" the cause. Let's put it this way, if you were not a stressed person before, it's going to push you into a very stressful state of mind. Which further exacerbates your tinnitus. I promise you either, which way you will recover, and your tinnitus will back off and you will habituate, and your brain will more or less filter it out and get bored with the sound. Focusing on tinnitus recovery and optimisms is essential to start the recovery process. 1.) Stay positive, try not to focus on your tinnitus, regardless of how much it is in your face so to speak. 2.) Sound masking is one of the first thing I would recommend. Go on UA-cam, and look up your frequency and tone. Meaning look for sounds that through headphones or on an iPhone speaker etc., at a reasonable volume mask your tinnitus. For me I like the (Tinnitus Zapper) By Dales Nale. 3.) Breathing Exercises, Stretching, large Yawning, Showers Switching from hot to cold, cold to hot, impacting the lymphatic system help substantially. 4.) I Also recommend downloading the "QUIETEN APP" by Julian Cowan Hill, that was a game changer for me. 5.) If you are to the point that you need to speak with someone, absolutely recommending setting up a Zoom call with Julian. He is the best when it comes to tinnitus. Just know you will recover! Praying for you. Rob
Thank you so much! I had the same experience you had. It was so sad. I’m 10 months into it and still on my journey. Videos like yours is so soothing. I’m from Throgs Neck BX and live in Houston Texas now. Wish me luck 🙏🏽
Thanks for this great video. I really picked up on the fact that the levels can be so different day to day. Yesterday my T was v loud and pretty much took over my thoughts even though I knew - or hoped! 😅 it would return to the base level of tiny crickets in one ear slight whooshing in the other. Today it’s super mild for no apparent reason. Like you say, know that these days come and go and not to over obsess about why and how. One thing I’m intrigued about is why the sounds are often louder when I have done meditation… weird! Also after naps. Thanks again.
This guy seems to still have alot of anxiety about his tinnitus. I feel like he is making the video as another way to cope. I would love to hear from him further on down the road, seems very determined. Our minds are so pesky, the solution is to not to pay any attention to it all, zero. Maybe when highly stressed people have finally actually given up the worry, that’s when there is actual healing. I will 100% back what Julian says about craniosacrial therapy. My first session wasn’t so great, I was nervous. Second session within 20 minutes I slipped into a state of calm. I described it “the place between conscious and subconscious”. I really do think the answer to tinnitus is simple, learn to let go. One of life’s many lessons. I’m not there yet though 😂
I am doing absolutely amazing! Thanks for peaking the curiosity! It’s been a few months since I posted this video for Tinnitus suffers and Julian, and Forsure It did help me cope! And it absolutely attaches to super stressed people and perfectionist! Tinnitus was just what the Doctor ordered for me: I rebuilt my world and body as a results lost 50lbs and got into the best shape of my life. And learned how to let go of all the nonsensical BS! Nothing means nothing unless you make it Into something. In the end, we are all on borrowed time. Might as well enjoy every moment, ringing or no ringing. Unless I really listen for it, I really don’t hear my tinnitus. Ps you will eventually let go of your tinnitus! All the best on your journey!

I also have a piece of paper with the words 'am I bovvered, NO' written on it stucked to my kitchen cabinet. A piece of advice taken from one of your videos. THANK YOU again. I'm getting there.
Diane, you are doing great! Gently wipe those tears out of your eyes and know your going to continue to recover! I can tell you without a doubt, as I have learned in my tinnitus volume; that stress, chronic stress, anxiety, trauma and depression play a large role in volume! Keep going strong, never get stuck and remember life happens, it’s all going to work out and everything is truly going to be okay! I strongly recommend working with Julian both 1 on 1 and or with Quieten! Really changed everything for me! Your in my thoughts and prayers! All the best in your continued recovery - Robbie
Been through all this and all fantastic advice from my own personal experience, 2 years since onset and fully habituated. I still have ring but doesn't bother me. I am working for full cesssation. In addition to all you've heard here, yoga has been huge for me personally. The book Letting Go by David R Hawkins was a mental gamechanger. Lester Levenson and the release technique has been the most powerful force for me after a lifetime of emotional disturbance and anxiety. Ironically, tinnitus has been the best thing that's ever happened to me, a gift. But man, so so difficult in those early days. Love you all.
Gary!! I cannot say it enough times: Great, Great, Great Job on your recovery!!! You get it! I can assert you know you will reach total succession/silence, days of or near to with your positive attitude and the research that you have done to recover at this level! Love the recommendations, I will check out: Letting Go by David R Hawkins and Lester Levenson. Just wanted to share I recently met with a wide group of doctors and challenged the Cochlea Hair Damage for Tinnitus Theory. Every single Doctor agreed that it really is just a theorized bunch of medical nonsense that truly do not understand yet. Julians approach and understanding of tinnitus is so on point it is unbelievable, changed everything for me and my recover as my tinnitus continues to fade into the background well beyond habituation. Unfortunately, as you know, it is simply not one thing, there is a lot of work for the (Tinnitus suffer/us) to do to recover and restore their/our bodies and mind to baseline/homeostasis. It is all temporary! Just remember that everything in the living world on planet earth that is spinning out in orbit at a speed of 1,000 miles per hour around the sun, is temporary! Life truly is amazing! I Cannot push downloading QUIETEN enough to those who are really trying to recover! Thank you for the positive feedback! Praying for your complete 1000% recovery. - Robbie.
Ah this is brilliant Gary ..so pleased for you I am 10 weeks in and it's been a night mare .. cranial sacral therapy helped but I had lots of stress things happen and it spiked again. So praying to be like you asap.
@@SecDirect700 I got the queten app and watching your video cheered me up . I am dealing with so many other stressors right now that it spiked since that time but mostly keto now. I am also Menopausal and Tinnutjs is a rare side affect of menopasue . I did have cranial sacral therapy for a few weeks that did help . I need to get back to that asit was working well. Fab video Robbie ans so pleased for you
Wow your story sounds like mine. Taken a trip to Pheonix for a family issue, got off a ✈️ plane and 2 days later got tinnitus. I had no clue my body was in flight or fight stage for years. It’s been several months, seen ENT, going to see MRI soon. Took prednisone and cidnifir which took my tinnitus to another level. I had to change my diet, lost weight, fasting. My tinnitus was bearable before abut after the antibiotics it became unbearable. I’m not back to fasting.
Hey there Robbie. This video is amazing, it puts things in a real good perspective and I think people need to hear it. Superb. I have T for two and a half years now and it took me to the edge, I became suïcidal. I know Julian and have spoken to him several times now. I seem to be somewhat of an exception, and here’s why: for the last two and a half years I have done absolutely everything to get my nervous system to calm down, which I really have. Body based therapy, complete lifestyle change, including diet (low carbs and mainly anti-inflammatory), breathing therapy, CBT, ACT, psychotherapy and thoe best natural supplements. Strange thing is that since a few months now, my T has been spiking, and I mean one big spike, the volume has turned up from a 4/5 to an 8/9. This is totally counterindicative and I have the feeling that I have to start the complete habituation process from scratch. What would be your opinion on this? Thanks in advance bro, and keep up the good work.
Medical Disclaimer: I am not a Doctor, Nor A Psychotherapist, or a Dietician. However, I have done hours and hours of continued research and I know what works for me. That does not necessarily stop a bad day or a tinnitus spike even if you are doing everything correctly. - Don't worry or be concerned your spike will eventually back off! Poor Sleep, Stress Management & Diet with exercise and mindfulness are the keys to managing what is in our control; with our tinnitus! This is going to be a longer response and you are definitely worth it! Remember it's not one thing that helps, tinnitus and tinnitus volume control is multi-layered! Jereon, thank you for the kind reply! Let's review your situation. #1 I am super happy to hear that you are okay and that you were able to get help! It is very common for vast majority of severe tinnitus suffers to be emotionally pushed close to the edge! You did an amazing job getting help and trying to figure out what to do while under 24x7 distress. You really need to take a moment and congratulate yourself; you have done a wonderful job as we all know that maddening sound loves to push us! Totally get it! YOU need to know without question you’re NOT going backwards in progress, please remove that thought of your conscious & subconscious mind so you can get your spike down. Tinnitus & The Mind Plays Games with You. Your Tinnitus is simply spiking and it is looking for a reaction out of you. Your tinnitus is temporarily a part of you! Always remember the more you emotionally feed it, the louder it gets! It will eventually back off! Mindfulness is critical hear. I would strongly recommend that you go into the QUIETEN APP and go to the AUDIO section, and listen to Julian's Positive Tinnitus Affirmation, & His Reassurance For Stress Ears Affirmation. Play this over and over and over again to get this in your conscious & subconscious mind. Fear, Doubt & Concern, are like Gasoline. When you spike, and you doubt or grow concerned; you’re fueling its ability to maintain a higher volume. You have to let it go and free your mind! This is where breathing techniques, mediating, walking, and distractions are critical. Also, UA-cam Julian Cowan Hills: How to Manage a Tinnitus Spike. Reiterating: The mind & tinnitus play games with you, and you cannot play into under any condition or it will press back on you harder. You must let it go! You and I, along with every single tinnitus suffer completely understands the difficultly of letting go, because it’s there and when I there I mean temporarily! Allow your spike to be, just relax your mind, stretch, yawn constantly, talk a hot shower, switch it back and forth from hot to cold, cool to warm for 10 minutes. This will open up and confuse and relax your lymphatic system, ultimately affecting your central nervous system. On your computer write out this message and post it on your bathroom mirror or your refrigerator and read it out loud slowly regularly every day and when you’re in a spike often. Quoting Julian: (THIS SOUND WILL GO LIKE IT DOES FOR MOST PEOPLE, MY MIND WILL MOVE ON AND FOCUS ON OTHER MORE IMPORTANT THINGS. THE RINGING IS JUST A TEMPORARY TENDANCY THAT WILL BACK OFF THE MORE I RELAX AND THE MORE I HELP MY BODY FEEL COMFORTABLE AND THE MORE I UNDERSTAND HOW THIS TEMPRORARY CONDITIONS WORKS. I KNOW MY EARS CAN GO BACK TO HOW THEY WERE BEFORE CALM CLEAR, AND EXCELLENT AT IGNORING BACKGROUNDS SOUNDS. (Now that's a great subconscious affirmation that you need to hear during a spike and its actually much longer than that. So definitely use those resources over and over again. I spike just like you do! Sleep & Diet, Exercise & Stress are the key factors to a spike. Moving too fast, trying to overdo it when we feel better. Remember to slow down! Slow down your speech, slow down your movements, and everything is not a priority! Slowing down helps to slow the mind down and turn down the volume OVER TIME: ALSO, reduce your expectations of when it is going to stop spiking. Do not put a time line on it, rather, play some positive affirmations through UA-cam at bed time while you’re sleeping for several hours and loop it. I like (JASON STEPHENSON - Guided Sleep Meditation, Increase Positive Vibrations as you sleep letting go of negativity. When you’re having a spike look forward to going to bed! Consciously sending positives thoughts to your subconscious mind, okay I am ready to try again and see if we can get this volume down tomorrow. know that continuing to do these things will help your recovery and volume reduction. Let’s talk a little bit about diet. It Sounds like you are following a ketogenic diet? Not sure what style of low carb keto diet you are following, assuming your 50 grams and under daily. Also, not sure what foods are in your diet, which is absolutely key. Dieting & Tinnitus is extremely complex, including eating hours windows & timing and stress that carb depletion can place on your body. I am not sure if you’re coming in and out of Ketosis depending on your low Carb Diet. (You should monitor your ketone levels) if you are not, you can easily buy testing strips on amazon, they are like $9.99 for 150 sticks. You pee on the stick and it gives you a color back in terms of how far your body is in ketosis (Beige means you are not producing ketones for mitochondrial uncoupling or mitogenesis which helps repair the body by burning fat as a fuel source rather than carbohydrates. Purple means you pushing heavy ketones, you kind of want your body to be somewhere in the middle & in alternation. After months of doing this and researching, my body is fuel/flexible, over 90% over the world’s population are not fuel flexible. They depend on carbohydrates, and remember carbs are measured by NET Carbs not total carbs. Therefore, minus the fiber. Also remember, 1 Single medium banana has 27grams of carbs. 1 apple has 25 grams of grams. If you only ate an apple and a banana - which bananas are off the list, you would be right out of ketosis. Again, DR Gundry's Yes/No List and his book "Unlocking the Keto Code". Don't be fooled I eat like a champion and feel like a champion because I truly understand how the diet part works and plays into my tinnitus. Carb Manager is a great APP on the Phone and Computer that really tells you everything about what you are eating all day. You can scan in your items by barcode or manually, if you are not doing this you will be shocked. Again 90% of the world really does not understand how to eat properly. Tinnitus drove me to READ and I mean read hard! WOW, best thing that ever happened to me. I like Dr. Gundry's Unlocking the Keto Code because it is less restrictive and focus more on the best foods, fats & oils that help the body. Unfortunately, I cannot dump all that information into one message. I am not sure if you are EATING LECTINS & NIGHTSHADES but you should NOT be! Matter-of-factly no one should! Please do the research. Use the DR GUNDRY'S YES/NO LIST for free online to see what you should be eating and what you should not be eating. You could be having an issue with diet; foods & you’re eating window and not realize it. The human body is absolutely amazing, there are no words to describe how scientifically complex our systems are! Also read the Plant Paradox to take it one step further. These are just some short snippets. Salt & Refined sugar as well as alcohol are also a huge proponent problem for Tinnitus. If you are eating too much salt and refined sugar without question this can spike the hell out of your tinnitus! I eat no refined sugar what so ever, I read the label, neither do I use sweeteners like Sucralose, which is a tricky hidden name for splendor. No sweet and low, the acceptable sugar replacements, are Monk Fruit Sweetener, Allulose (Look for Non-GMO), Erythritol, Organic Honey, Stevia, Xylitol and so on. Just the labels of what you are eating and seriously monitor your salt intake. Best to refer to Dr. Gundry's Yes/No List. Does that mean that it’s going to stop your tinnitus spike right away? NO, but it is certainly going to help get your mind in a better place. DIE, DIET, DIET I am huge on diet with Tinnitus. I eat no rice, grain, oats of any type. Okay, so conclusion: Regardless of all this information, ultimately YOU ARE GOING TO RECOVER NO MATTER WHAT, YOUR SPIKE IS GOING TO COME BACK TO NORMAL LEVELS! Keep yourself relaxed and distracted and be positive during this time. If your spike is too much to handle find your masking sound, and play it at just equal volume externally on speakers. But it is best to be with your spike so you can habituate. Don't Stress to push so hard. One last thing. (WOW) DO NOT BE AFRAID TO RESEARCH OUT TO A PSYCHATRIST and get and evaluation. Clinically speaking they will identify what you are dealing with and may determine that you might need (X) medication during your spikes to help calm your anxieties. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
@@SecDirect700 lovely man, thank you so much for your time and effort to write such an extensive reply. The world needs people like you. I have been busy for a few months to set up my private practise to help people with tinnitus, burnout and stress. I had my first cliënt yesterday! My belief is that this may cause quite some stress on an unconscious level which causes this long spike. Reading your reply has really reminded me of the way to go about this and gave me reassurance that it will eventually get better as long as I choose to only let the positive thoughts through my system and try to grab every negative thought or thought focussed on the tinnitus which keeps it ‘alive’. Also, sugars and salts. Lately I consumed more sugars, it has sneaked it’s way into my diet a bit more and the boundries were shifted so I took a rigorous decision and reduced them bigtime. I am a fan of salty foods and I heard you on that one. I made the descision to cut back the salts too to see how that goes. Thank you so much again and have a great day!
Thank you Robbie, I was following Julian and listening to you I found our journeys are very similar , what you have done is confirmed what I was hoping to be true cheers thank you
Lawrence, Thank you! You are in my thoughts and prayers! Since our roads are very similar; than you just got confirmation that your going to recover! It is not if! This sound will GO! Wishing you all the best - Robbie
Thank you so much for making this video and sharing your journey with us, I personally need to hear these stories and positivity. I appreciate your honesty and being yourself and talking to us like real people. I even learned new things. I'm happy for your success and will keep you and everyone else with this in my prayers! I am new to this, nearly a month now and I'm still not sure if it's from my TMJ or not but I'm going to appointments to figure it out and just got a MRI but don't have the results yet. Mine first started out as an eeeee...ee..ee...eeee, almost Morse code and the last week it's been that plus this very deep bass vibration (if you type deep bass vibration there is a video on UA-cam that sounds just like what I hear) and it feels like it's tightening around my brain and it makes me nauseous and worried, it's crippling. Other noises can negate it like when I speak or someone else does, it's very strange and worrisome. Has anyone else experienced this or is and is it tinnitus? Julian, do you know if this is something else? Any advice is greatly appreciated. God Bless, Love and Light
This could be a combination of high auditory sensitivity and nervous auditory muscles twitching. If you would like to talk about this please get in touch and we can organise a session. info@juliancowanhill.co.uk
Thanks for your video. It is very reassuring to listen to your journey. I have read that the supplement GABA helps. What is your opinion on that? Again, thanks.
Please download my app www.quietenapp.com and come along to one of our Q&A sessions for support. There is a lot of advice and practical techniques there to help you. Hope this helps, Best wishes Julian
What a lovely ❤ video calming I had tinnitus as a young child I suffer with meniears disease changed my diet lost the weight 63 now still got it worse than ever permanent the last 10 years Sound noise volume off the chart most days Gone through mager stress through my life I am at that stage where if I hear noise my tinnitus turns up louder than the noise I hear every second of the day I hear it I don't worry how am I going to live with this now I try to just keep myself as calm as possible I have had infections in my ear nose and throat since born Born 2 pounds in weight lost weight 1 pound 2 ounces not sure if this was the reason why I have had so many infections It is hard to get through I listen to it rather than masking it I have bought oils to massage my neck and face it just smells calming it was calming just the way you spoke thank you so much I found out about suger and salt and fasting which I started 12 months ago Great video 💖
It's 5:00 am & still awake due to T developed it last year in the Autumnafter my brother passed away & I had panick attacks anxiety & that was the start of my T journey looked it up on UA-cam & the fear increased . Sarthe Doc yea I have to learn to live with yea the anxiety got worse . Like sugar love cheese ho yea also got heart failure & survived open heart surgery 10 yrs ago but hey so I have nights of no sleep, nights when I nod off , wake up then struggle to fall back but I'm learning to live with T
@KINGMIDA123 yea much better thank you even tho my Tinnitus is still hissing in my brain , I have come to terms with , the panic attacks & anxiety has ceased , I read posts & watch many you tubes on those subjects taking it on board all helped . At night I listen to gental music 🎶 have about 15 tracks , mainly Nora Jones & a Rain masker last . Wake up 3 to 4 time a night to have a pee but am able to fall back to sleep.ok
Same here. since I got the T a month ago I havent been able to except Life nor sleep through one whole nicht without waking 3 Times a night...prayers to us. Life seems to never be the same again
It will be 2 years this august since my tinnitus started, It’s a loud hissing noise with a high pitch tone . I’ve learnt to live with it to some extent, but it’s gotten worse in the last 2 months. I remember when it first started it was so bad that I punched myself on my ears out of frustration, needless to say that didn’t help, and just made my ears pop lol. I find keeping occupied with other things takes my mind off of the tinnitus, but it’s hard when trying to unwind or sleep, and also in the mornings when I wake up. it’s actually ringing right now as I type this. My main concern is that I’ve read professionals say tinnitus leads to, or is the first signs of deafness… hopefully this isn’t true. Btw thanks for this video
Sam, thanks for the comment! Your spikes will settle down and you will recover! Please be careful reading online! This can and will subconsciously lead you mind into worry, fear, anxiety, stress. All of the things that flare up and press hard against tinnitus and stop your ability to recover! Please if you have not downloaded QUIETEN. This is an excellent time to work with Julian and his Application in order to recover or manage spikes. P.s. please don't punch yourself in the head or ears out of frustration. Also know statistically some people who are deaf have no tinnitus at all, and others do. That within itself is a quandary, and leads you to know that there's more going on here then what's medically understood at this point in time with this condition: Stress is a a killer. Wellbeing and mindfulness, all of Julian's practices are so important and play a key role in recovery! Your in my thoughts and prayers - Robbie
My reply would be to stay calm, give your T a name, (mine is Flossie) address it and say, 'I know you are there, I am aware of you, but you are not everything in my life'. We have to learn to live with it, once acknowledged and accepted it lessens and diminishes. You have to accept that it is there, it exists and sometimes I let it just play out. I then say enough, Ive listened and acknowledged you, but it's time I forgot you. It does not go away but you are more in control. I know what you are going through and I wish you strength and endurance on your journey.
I first saw this video three months ago and was very helpful in accepting, and living with Tinnitus. Recovery is putting Tinnitus at the bottom of life's problem list.
For me was a positive move to search on Internet, that's how I found Julian. Doctors were negative and distress full and nearly throw me into a dark hole.
I hope you have downloaded my app www.quietenapp.com where you can find a lot of help, practical advice and live question and answer sessions every two weeks. Hope to see you there! Best wishes Julian
Thank you Robbie for sharing your story! So inspiring. After almost 2 years I'm also on a good way to habituate. Julian's channel and finally the Quiten app are a game changer for me as well! Stay strong everyone, it's worth it like Robbie says.☀️🏝️💯👍
@@SecDirect700 Robbie, can I ask you a question. It's a pretty important question for me. Ok, I can say with certainty that I am at a good 4 on the tinnitus matrix, on my way to level 5. But sometimes sudden loud everyday noises, like a popping balloon at a birthday party....etc. catch me completely off guard and throw me off my recovery path back to level 2 of the matrix. I usually wear my protection now when I know I'm going to come in contact with loud noises, I'm also like you at the range from time to time. So I really try to protect my ears in those circumstances. How do you deal with sudden loud noises?
@@TheMhankel Good morning Marc, Great personal question. ALL FROM THE SUFFERS PERSPECTIVE: Remember we are all helping each other! - Read more below.. First off let me assure your not going backwards from level 5 to level 2 because you have something that spikes your tinnitus. If you revisit level 2 and start going through the matrix again that's perfectly normal, you are simply trying to mentally process how to deal with your unexpected spike caused by a sudden unexpected loud noise, which causes a wide array of emotions ranging from being: Annoyed, because you were prepared you had your ear plugs but it was out of your control, turns into aggravation, which internally turns into: damn it are you kidding me, now my tinnitus is going to be blasting for who knows how long; along with many other conscious thoughts that get sent to the subconscious mind and to the central nervous system & limbic system which is that (3) ring circle that gets you looped right back into tinnitus as it makes the sound louder and louder. Julian always points out with the Limbic System Tinnitus starts with 1.) A Trigger, in your case a sudden loud unexpected noise that you were not prepared for 2.) That Trigger then sends all types of emotions to the STRESS RESPONSE System then 3.) Your Tinnitus starts getting LOUDER as your emotions consciously and subconsciously start sending all the signals spiking the volume, it is the saboteur in all of us . This is actually all NORMAL and part of the human condition; but it is more difficult for us/tinnitus suffers because now we have to deal with the annoyance/volume constantly until it comes down; unlike people who have a stressful moment and move on when its done right? OR maybe God forbid their stress response causes them to drop dead of a heart-attack, or a stroke, or brain aneurysm, vomit or have stomach problems, raise in blood pressure and so on! Your tinnitus is always trying to tell you something! Keep this in perspective and always know that your spike will pass no matter which way you look at it, and your mindset is really critical here! Don't self sabotage because of something that you were not prepared for that spikes your tinnitus. We all tend to do this, but the quicker we acknowledge and train ourselves of what is actually going on the faster we can move on to recovery each time something unexpected happens that causes our tinnitus to spike. For that matter we are re-learning our true selves and growing as people individually. Reiterating: Do not put any doubt into the progress you have already made into your recovery, you have already made that progress. You are not going backwards, you are just having a bad moment. You really never can be prepared for BAD moments, no one can, with or without tinnitus and they happen all the time to everyone! Trust me I am right there with you. But rather look at Pavlov's theory of reconditioning. Specifically our Response to the sudden loud noise as we believe we know that the outcome will be a spike in volume. This is where we need to work on ourselves. especially our emotions. If we are reconditioning not to react: "Dammit that phreaking balloon just knocked my tinnitus out of the park". Even though now volume is up, YOUR mind set should be: Whatever, who cares, and just work on "self soothing" & "Everything is going to be okay" and stay positive, have a YAWN FEAST, STRECH, Listen to Julian's Positive Audio Affirmations, go for a walk, meditate, read something of interest, MINDFULNESS Distract your mind as difficult as it may be. Remain NEUTRAL with your tinnitus rather than reactive. That will help your spikes settle down much quicker overtime! Your tinnitus is part of you, and its part of your body's way of responding emotionally in your audiological system saying: (WARNING I DID NOT LIKE THAT SUDDEN LOUD NOISE). This is where in QUIETEN rather then revisiting matrix levels, I go to the AUDIO section and listen 1.) Julian's Positive Tinnitus Affirmation, I may play this audio loop several times until it really gets in my subconscious allowing me to settle down and stopping my mind from playing games with me. This is where I totally recognize regardless of the spike; which I had one last night that was like (2) gongs reverberating & being banged in my head for 3 hours because of lack of sleep and major stress, etc. This is exactly where I take control of my mind and NOT play into it my tinnitus. I actually started to laugh because I am said to myself, okay I know exactly what is going on here: it is just my tinnitus telling my body is reacting to the "trigger" and now my mind is going to react to the "trigger" and I try to catch this thought right away consciously. WE know this spike is going to eventually come back down right? We have been there so many times! This is where the QUIETENS Audio 1.) A Positive tinnitus affirmation is so important: This is a very strong message during a spike: Quoting Julian: (THIS SOUND WILL GO LIKE IT DOES FOR MOST PEOPLE, MY MIND WILL MOVE ON AND FOCUS ON OTHER MORE IMPORTANT THINGS. So definitely use that resources over and over again. 2.) Julian's Reassurance Positive Affirmation: play this one over and over again rather than revisiting the levels of the matrix placing uncertainty, worry, anxiety & stress, that you have had some type of set back as that only feeds into your tinnitus and plays minds games with your recovery. If you have made it to level 5 than you have made it to level 5. Tinnitus is a nasty beast, interesting bugger/annoyance isn't it? But remember its part of us for now temporarily, use your mind not to play into and your spike will start backing off quicker. And if all else fails at that particular day, when you are ready to go to bed, reset and get a good nights sleep, play some positive mindfulness videos/audio on youtube sleep affirmation knowing that everything is going to be okay. I like this one: ua-cam.com/video/t6fLGSicJnk/v-deo.html Jason Stephenson Guided Sleep Meditation, increase positive vibrations as you sleep, let go of negativity. And then start all over again tomorrow. I hope this answer helps. Let's remain positive in our tinnitus and neutral and non-reactive during our spikes. Its a pleasure meeting you and I am right there with you! Your in my thoughts and prayers. - Robbie
@@SecDirect700 Robbie, UA-cam unfortunately didn't send me a message about your last reply or I must have missed it and now I just checked again myself and find this ultra long reply from you. I will read it all later at my leisure but I want to thank you already from the bottom of my heart. 💯🤜🤛
@@SecDirect700Replying now with my correct main channel, not the one above (to many messengers and email adresses ;). So, let me tell you that I'm coming back to your comment again and again. It helps so much. Meanwhile I'm at a much better place now. As you said "You got this!" I got it! I hope you are well, too. Best wishes Marc
I have dealt with this condition for over 7 years I deal with chronic pain which is very stressful have to try to stay away from pain meds i really really can get into a lot of stress especially when I am alone I believed god s word I am healed no manifestation yet I chronically deal with pain in body just need a miracle and soon
Noise induced from a short event like you had can heal itself within a year or two. Im hapoy for your success, but im 2 1/2 years in and i did super strict diet fasting etc lost 55lbs ( back on) and it didn't help lower the T. We really need a cure on the neurological side i believe.
Could you try craniosacral therapy and practicing the techniques on my app here: www.quietenapp.com ? I recommend doing the evening face massage on level one techniques in the matrix every evening and the boatmast meditation on level four techniques often. Practicing these techniques you can build up a toolbox of coping strategies that help shift the focus away from the ringing and help settle the fight or flight response. Hope this helps. Best wishes Julian PS reading the 130-odd success stories helps you feel positive and on track too. You can find these in the documents section or the positive stories section.
Great video thank you so much can get very discouraging at times so helpful to hear videos like yours also have a question. Have you ever used noise-canceling headphones with like River music at a very low volume. Mine are the wh 1000XM 4 . I'm afraid to use headphones afraid to make it worse have you had any experience in this . Would be interested in any feedback as I respect your opinion so much thanks again
The short answer is to always stay within your comfort zone. If you experiencing hearing discomfort or distress, putting air protection in that is comfortable can be very helpful. But you don't want to depend on this all the time. You want to try to normalise your hearing as much as possible, and push gently in this direction. As soon as you leave the loud environment, then try reverting back to normal. I hope this makes sense. Best wishes, Julian.
The theory about hearing loss being the cause of tinnitus is very dubious to me. I've had mild (1-2/10) tinnitus since I was about 15 years old (more than 20 years) with normal hearing. Thankfully 98% of the time it never bothers me, and I'm able to use meditation, neck massages other things to get it to a lower level. My father is 69, has zero hearing at 12 kHz (like anyone over 50 pretty much), and yet has never had tinnitus. Literally everyone gets high frequency hearing loss as they get older, and most don't get tinnitus. Getting caught in the fear-stress loop has to be the reason for tinnitus. No other model makes sense.
There are many people with perfect hearing who have tinnitus so we know that model is missing the point. However it is true that hearing loss can trigger tinnitus for a period of time, but this is a temporary reaction caused by the central nervous system. Best wishes Julian
Thank you for posting this! Well written and intellectually thought through! You are so on point! Praying for your reduced tinnitus volume, sorry to hear that you have had tinnitus since you were 15. Praying for you!! All the best Robbie
Oh, you have no idea about the fear-stress loop! If you think tinnitus is bad, I have suffered from, and conquered, dissociating. Specifically, depersonalization. I was “stuck” like that for just over a year. Completely stuck! To make a long story short, I had a major multi level herniation of neck discs that took 8 months to get diagnosed. It resulted in surgery and the stress was absolutely unreal. I’d had “bouts” with depersonalizing since the age of 5, but nothing prepared me for this. I finally worked myself out of it by simply ignoring it. In forums on the internet, it went just like everyone else said. There were days where you’d get “windows” of normalcy, and over time, the windows would get more frequent and lengthier until magically, you’re back to normal. Fast forward, same issues with my neck/back began to crop up not long ago and because I knew the best way out of dissociating was to ignore it and go about my life, apparently tinnitus really is a lesser form of “checking out” 😂. Before this epiphany, I went to an ENT and audiologist prob like everyone else and nothing was found. My hearing is perfect for my age. The audiologist nor the ENT outright said it (but looking back, I think they knew it was me lol). Then I began to think it was neck related. My neck has calmed down and still the tinnitus rang on. Finally, I just had to face the music that it was ME. I stopped being anxious about it. Maybe because I was too exhausted for my own self induced nonsense 😂. But it totally began to fade!
I devolped tinnitus one year ago this month ..thing is i have terrible earworm ,musical hallucinations!!! This is the worst thing ive ever went through ..if i hear any music on tv or in a shop the music will repeat in loops of 5 seconds then repeat over an over ..if i listen to podcasts or read it will stop .but the very second im not concentrated on something the tinnitus and earworms start up again its been a year of hell with no let up ...isnot common to have earworm that long ..it really plays with my mind ...great video
I had a similar situation last fall, at the time it was 1 year and 2 months since I had tinnitus, but last fall I had an unreal stressful period and I was like a bare wire and for probably 2 months I experienced auditory hallucinations, sometimes even running my hand over my head I heard some kind of melody or ambulance siren at a low volume, but nevertheless extremely distinct. You need to stop being afraid of it as much as possible and try to distract yourself in that moment and it will pass. I think this is a highly hypersensitive state as a result of stress, where the brain and hearing are literally short-circuited. Good luck
@@Andrey221ua thank you for sharing you're experience..it is not as bad as when it first started but its always there ...my sister said same as you ..that im hypersensitive to alot of things ...and that I need to distress and stay calm .....my mum is poorly and I have an alcoholic brother which doesn't help ..but I do go on long walks and try my best to lower my anxiety levels ..thanks again for reply
Disclaimer: I am not a medical doctor or a psychiatrist. However, I Totally agree with YA95! The explanation of you being in a totally hypersensitivity state as a result of stress, where the brain and hearing are literally short-circuited is completely accurate. It takes a long time to recover from "Hyperstimulation / Fight or Flight". One additional recommendation that I received about a month ago was to start taking a GABA supplement by the NOW company who is a $500,000,000.00 company with 1000 employees and the met stringent requirements from the FDA and their lab testing met and exceeded additional testing to the same standards as any pharmaceutical lab! I did a lot of research! = Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid. GABA affects alpha brain waves. A shortage or deficiency of GABA creates anxiety and other major psychological, emotional and auditory problems. The reason Benzodiazepines: i.e., Clonazepam, Valium, Xanax etc. are so popular is they directly impact your GABA receptors in your Brain. GABA directly impacts your neurotransmitters that produce the stress signals! GABA takes time to work, the receptors take time to change, similar to an SSRI. I started taking 750mg at night of the NOW Company's GABA. It's been (1) Month now and I have to say I notice dramatic improvement in my tinnitus every day and I am certainly more relaxed. I study my sleep and really check my anxiety levels daily. If you are taking any Benzo class drugs, or CNS pharmaceuticals. YOU should not be taking GABA! GABA will literally eat the pharmaceutical class GABA receptor: Benzodiazepines. I also strongly advice that you do not take magnesium with either of these supplements. Please speak to your doctor. Give the GABA time to work it could take a month to 3 months to full work. GABA is fine to take with any SSRI. You can call the NOW company they have access to all of the pharmaceutical databases for drug interactions. They are extremely transparent. The Richards Family owns the company, they have been in business for 55 years. Here is the GABA supplement I take, $19.25 on amazon and it definitely works to calm down your central nervous system, on top of everything else I am doing game changer for me! www.amazon.com/NOW-Supplements-Gamma-Aminobutyric-Neurotransmitter-Capsules/dp/B0768K5V8J/ref=sxts_rp_s_a_1_0?content-id=amzn1.sym.3432eb1a-1558-4445-9430-9bb3e7f7b9b7%3Aamzn1.sym.3432eb1a-1558-4445-9430-9bb3e7f7b9b7&crid=173KOAQW5VZGB&cv_ct_cx=GABA&keywords=GABA&pd_rd_i=B0768K5V8J&pd_rd_r=10cc9e4f-129d-4e90-8438-0bef8866f5e0&pd_rd_w=ilRix&pd_rd_wg=c5rGf&pf_rd_p=3432eb1a-1558-4445-9430-9bb3e7f7b9b7&pf_rd_r=5TZ0MY1994Q6RJ7D4YEM&qid=1686485614&sprefix=gaba%2Caps%2C122&sr=1-1-5985efba-8948-4f09-9122-d605505c9d1e hope this helps the tinnitus. community! Julian & Robbie, I’ve acquired tinnitus from left ear inflammation back in January 2023 and my tinnitus sounds like static/electric humming. Thank you Julian I’ve been following your advice and slowly getting better. Julian my concern now is I developed a new sound “fluttering or drumming sound” it’s scaring me because I’ve read it could be tympanic muscle spasm OMG am scared Julian how am I going to get over this now? Julian please I hope you respond god bless you 🙏
This is a tired auditory muscle twitching much like the eye muscles can twitch sometimes. Please do not worry. This is a temporary stress response. What will helps is to please practice the evening face massage on level one techniques in the matrix on my app www.quietenapp.com Click on the matrix button at the bottom of the app home page and then click on the red banner then scroll through the techniques section to about the 7th video which is the evening face massage. Click on this video and do this every evening for a couple of weeks. The yawning part of this technique is really important. Please also get cranial work to help your system settle or good body massage etc. I hope this helps. Wishing you peace and well-being, Julian
Robbie, was your tinnitus (or any of them) pulsating one? I hear a lot of level this, level that. How does one determine the level? Congrats on your process.
Disclaimer: I am not a medical doctor, however you should get with your General Practitioner/ENT if you have not and see if you have any blood pressure issues, or thyroid issues That can lead to pulsatile tinnitus. I did all of these thing and everything came back fine! Good practice to rule everything out medically! Once that is done you are down to the basics calming your central nervous system down, anxiety and managing a healthy diet. DIET: SALT & SUGAR made my tinnitus/pulsatile/rhythmic tinnitus way worse. My salt level's in my bad diet just pushed right into that pulsatile blasting sound. Definitely recommended cutting your salt intake back substantially and getting on A clean diet. Don't worry about carbs right now. Follow Doctor Gundry's YES/NO list of what you can and cant eat. Dr. Gundry does not focus on Salt, so you need TOO! BACK OFF OF SALT & SUGAR ASAP!! Lifestyle is huge part of tinnitus! Yes without question my tinnitus 1 month into development fluctuated into LOUD pulsatile tinnitus / rhythmic tinnitus & back and forth lots of spikes and strange, loud and terrifying fluctuations. Hearing a pulsing, throbbing, whooshing, or your heartbeat in your ears. This is a common anxiety disorder symptom, including generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, anxiety attacks and panic disorder, and others. This is very common and this information is found online "Pulsing In The Ears Anxiety Symptoms". This is and indication that your central nervous system is basically shot and you may or may not realize it. Your body is STUCK in Fight or Flight/Hyperstimulation and most people are in denial because they have lived their life a certain way and never had this problem and then all of a sudden it develops. It is your body's way of telling you that: things need to change, overall mindfulness, diet, health, wellbeing, lifestyle etc. This is where I strongly recommended following Julian's Cowan Hill and downloading his QUIETEN app. You need to listen to the positive tinnitus affirmation and the recovery affirmation in the audio section over and over and over again. You need to bring your central nervous system down to a state of true peace calm and subconscious positivity. It takes times a long time recover from this & without a question of the doubt 1.) You will recover, 2.) Your Pulsatile Tinnitus will back off substantially as mine did: and that will bring confirmation to your subconscious mind eventually lowering the volume and then backing off into silence or near to! This is a very changeable condition! This morning I am close to silence .05 on a scale of (1-10), so from a guy who had hyperacusis which I no longer have at all & extremely loud pulsatile tinnitus you will recover! This sound will change! If you cannot do this on your own, depending on where your at emotionally often visiting a qualified psychiatrist makes sense, as they will medically evaluate you and determine what course to take with medication that is: determine how to at least get your body back to it's baseline so you can start calming down and start working on your tinnitus recovery! Medications do take time to work consider, you should consider this only if you cannot do this on your own and its perfectly okay! There is no shame in getting help! your the most important person here, remember that! Gauging your tinnitus volume. Great question, so as we are all different people living in our own bodies we have our own scales of tolerance and volume when it comes to everything. Each person reacts and responds differently to emotional pain and physical pain. What might be a 4 for me might be a 10 or 2 on the Richter Scale for someone else. What I recommend; if you are trying to determine your level of loudness is the following. 1.) Remember what your silence sounds like! Then as the days of your pulsatile tinnitus either change or remain at a volume; gauge that volume of your pulsatile tinnitus against your silence threshold (1 - 10). Please also take into account; that as much as you are trying to Gauge your volume this is all part of playing into tinnitus and making recovery complex and longer. I am not sure where you are in your development of tinnitus in general. But the key to recovering, which is a slow process, is to overtime retrain your brain that the sound is not harmful or dangerous. Working on mindfulness, mediating, relaxing, have a YAWN FEST, Stretch, relax, practice breathing, constantly letting yourself know that everything is going to be okay: Because it is, being positive constantly, reinforcing those message to conscious and subconscious mind. This is where QUIETEN changed everything for me. I spent hours and days in-between work walking, mediating and listening to QUIETEN, to settle my system down. Having a logical understanding of everything that is going on once all of the medical test are all ruled out! KNOW: YOU WILL RECOVER & AND EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE OKAY: THIS SOUND WILL GO LIKE IT DOES FOR MOST PEOPLE. Follow Julian advice: Downloads Quieten. You are in my thoughts and prayers: all the best - Robbie
@@SecDirect700 Thank you very much for your very detailed response. I have to reduce my stress level and my sugar and salt intake, among other things. @@satanishangover My pleasure, and Don't ever stress about your financial situation. That will definitely push into your tinnitus. I know that's a very complicated comment! But Stress is a killer! Use every available resource in the meantime not to worry about your tinnitus! follow Julian's available advice on UA-cam until you can put Quieten into your recovery plan and know you will recover. hey brother, did you cure your tinnitus to almost 0 from that loud whoosh pulsatile?? ur an inspiration if that's so, I want to follow your path as I'm depressed bcoz of pulsing tinnitus which came on recently 10 days ago :(@@SecDirect700
Its not sound that cures its the vibration of the sound. The problem is knowing what hrtz the sound is at because at the least it will do nothing if its not right, and at most it will damage further. Sound vibration can both heal and destroy depending on the vibration
It is also the nervous system settling, so that the auditory sensitivity comes down. Then background sounds can get filtered out of awareness as they are supposed to.
Hi Robbie. Your story has given me the inspiration to carry on . Thank you so much . I’ve been medically cleared . It’s tinnitus . I’m a guitarist but the noise keeps interfering with my playing. Should I continue playing ? It gets a bit irritating sometimes. Your advice would be greatly appreciated . I have also downloaded the Quieten app and follow Julian Cowan Hill.
Hi Rob, how are you? My name is Rob as well, LOL anyways, I just watched your video, I'm very inspired. I've had sound tolerance and tinutus from stress overload. Last August we had three deaths in the family in August, and I did a huge impulse buying a car which I didn't need to add to the stress the 5 years of payments was gonna kill me, I wasn't thinking. What did I do to myself? I was beating myself up. Self abuse in a way right not physically. But you know what I mean and it wasn't good..... I'm seeking professional help now, I've been off work for a couple months, but I'm trying to get better so nice to know that someone out there going through this too or did. There's a lot of people that have this condition. It's a symptom, and it's not a disease right? And I'm going to cut out my salts. My sugars, I just want a better for myself. I have 2 kids I'm separated but I see them every second weekend. And I just want to get better for myself and for the people around me. Because it is affecting the people around me, my girlfriend, etc. But I just want to thank you again your an inspiration. A role model, so to speak. Thank you for everything I really do appreciate it. And I have checked out Cowel He's amazing. But I haven't down loaded the app just yet. But I think I want to anyways. Thanks again and I will definitely take all this information in and start being more positive and look forward to my recovery god bless you Rob 🙏❤️🇮🇹😊
When it comes to Tinnitus I simply couldn't agree more! Julian's knowledge and style are exceptional and matter-of-factly work! His APP Quieten and his path to recovery have truly enhanced and changed my life and my ability to recover from tinnitus. After working with Julian, my volume has dropped down by 75% on a regular basis and I have true silent days; as I do also have spikes which settle down from mindfulness, sacral cranial therapy, body based works and all of Julien's teachings. I hope more people who are stuck can trust in his work and let go of tinnitus and allow themselves to use QUIETEN to recover over time! Clifford, your in my thoughts and prayers! All The Best Rob!
4 years now for me. After a motorbike ride, too loud for too long no ear plugs, ringing after the event. Went to sleep thinking it would be gone when i woke up but it abruptly woke me up at 5am . Chronic continuous T ever since, although had momentary pauses of actual silence but it never switched off and stayed off. Morse code beeping right ear and high pitch ringing/static in my head. Unbearable tbh, dark times
Morse code beeping could be tired and stressed auditory muscles twitching. Please do the evening face massage on level one techniques in the app www.quietenapp.com Click on the matrix button at the bottom and then click on the red banner for level one "Stuck" and you will find a course of videos opening up which will help you understand what is going on and you will also find techniques. Please do the "Evening Face Massage" every evening. This simple yet natural way of de-stressing the ear, face nose and throat system is very helpful for releasing tension in all the right places to help your temporary hypersensitive hearing system settle. On the app there are live Q&A sessions where you can hear inspiring stories from other people getting better as well as get advice and support. I also recommend finding a good body-worker to help release tension in your face, jaw, ear and neck areas. Please try craniosacral therapy. For the UK go to: www.craniosacral.co.uk For North America go to: www.craniosacraltherapy.org/practitioner-search Hope this helps. If you need one-to-one support please get in touch. info@juliancowanhill.co.uk
Julian's is so on point! Please follow his advice! I truly cannot express how much Quieten and working with Julian changed my Tinnitus. I also really recommend 1 on 1 session with him if you can! Because of Julian & QUIETEN and constantly using the APP and listening over and over on walks, during meditation, during workouts, breathing and stretching exercises and true mindfulness regularly lowers my volume and fluctuates into silence or near to silence. YES I have spikes from Stress, but they return back to normal or very changeable and more tolerable volume limits within a day or so. This is coming from a guy who was screeching in volume at a (10) for months! But truly accepting your tinnitus, being positive, and not being split is what in my opinion really helps you recover! Doubt of recovery automatically sends signals to the subconscious mind keeping you stuck in the loudness. I recently told Julian, regardless of life events going on, I truly could careless about my tinnitus as annoying as it can be from time to time, there are other more important priorities. I personally feel once you really and truly mental arrive here: the WHO CARES state. It just starts going away! That's all following QUIETEN daily & constantly drilling it into your conscious and subconscious mind! All Tinnitus suffers understand the Darkness, DO NOT GO THERE! Please, Please Find the Positive Daily and Work with Quieten. Do not get STUCK! Please remember, no matter who you are we all get whacked upside the head with life issues, Your doing a great job and you can and will recover! Please know how valuable your life is, even in the darkest moments! Know you are going to recover! You are in my thoughts and prayers.
@@JulianCowanHill Hi Julian, thank you for this message. I will download the app tonight and start working through this. really appreciate it, thank you
@@SecDirect700 Hi Robbie, thank you for your reply. I will re-watch your video, you touched on many many critical points that I can relate to. Screeching is a good description of it! but the term 'split' really resonated with me, i feel this exact way, i can go from not caring too much, to sudden dread 'omg is this for life, is this my life now' 'why did i do this to myself' 'i was stupid' - basically the self-blame aspect is very tough at times and even to this day can still catch me off guard in my thoughts. It seems like you have a very positive can do attitude and that will help soo much. For me, i have always been on the pessimistic side unfortunately and have battled depression in the past. I will use the quieten app and follow it, I really want to arrive at the who cares stage and mean it on a subconscious level not just a conscious one. I feel like there is a bigger picture too, i want a good life, a great life! and this has held me back long enough, so i hope that there can be some big shifts. Like i say, i have noticed it go up and down, and even switch off completely. so its possible, i just need to arrive at that place more often than not, because as it stands, i dont feel in control, and that leads to the negative thoughts and that cycle. Really means a lot to be in your thoughts and prayers, i will also wish you the same back
@@Zombie101 It's my pleasure & great response! Believe me I was not always a positive person! Prior to Tinnitus I always leaned towards the negative for YEARS! When my Tinnitus developed I did exactly what you did: I beat myself up endlessly, worsening my anxieties, chronic stress and depression. Similar to you i.e., why did I not wear hearing plugs when I shot that (1) loud round in that large rifle for recreation at 190 decibels?? What the hell was I thinking, I ruined my life, OMG what do I do now? Just like you I got an occasional break and then I was like: "OHHH yeah its going"! Then the next day BOOM it would be blasting louder, and I would go into this (SPLIT) Conscious/Subconscious State that Julian talks about. WILL THIS SOUND EVER GO, HOW MUCH LONGER CAN I INDURE THIS? Please know this is very normal! This only makes you like the rest of us HUMAN! I suffered terribly. I Was in at least 1/2 dozen doctors' offices sending me into a worse state of panic: telling me learn to live with it, or you are making a big deal into nothing! Those comments sent me off a cliff; I was like you do you have any idea what I am listening to! Now at the time had no idea how to rationalize any of this and looking back neither could I ever accept that somehow my hyperacusis: which is cured now, and my tinnitus could be related to Stress, PTSD, Chronic Stress, Anxiety, Pessimistic Outlooks with Negative and Catastrophic thinking, anxiety or depression! Believe me it plays a HUGE role in Tinnitus and your volume The very fact that you have days on and off is a great sign. While using QUIETEN, I always tell people start in the audio section: Listen to the Positive Affirmation that Julian's says & then reassurance for stress ears. That is and always was a go to for me! It really gets in your head that you can recover! Then starting at the MATRIX level (1) in the app, be very honest with yourself and listen to what Julian is sayings! It takes time, patience, acknowledgement, mindfulness, positive thinking, eating the best diet you can, mediating and still being positive no matter how loud your tinnitus is that day to recover! Use your Tinnitus to rebuild your life, I did! You are always going to have stress and bad things always seem to happen, trust me we all deal with this! But the key statement that I made is that (I CHANGED) and it is not (1 Thing) that changed; it was literally everything! Don't be fooled by people with the COOL EXTERIOR most of the time, generally speaking it's an ACT. I know because I was great at it and its part of what gave me Tinnitus! We are all still continuing to progress in our on making on this earth. You know deep down you can and will recover! Now it's time to really put that in your conscious and subconscious mind so your brain stops sending SPLIT signals screwing around with your recovery. You need to realize that: during that process your mind is always going to play games with you, even make the sound louder. Don't fall for that TRAP that's what really keeps this damn thing going and why it gets louder! Julian knows exactly what he is talking about, and he is without a doubt the best at it! - This is my experience as a suffer! I really don't give a "you know what" about the sound at this point when it is there, and the more I don't care, the lower it is! Today I am dead silent all day, with some of the worse stress. I just found out yesterday that my Cat who is just a baby and is like one of my kids has cancer, heck yeah, I am affected emotionally. But my Tinnitus: who cares has been ingrained into my true mental attitude, and I can assert it makes a huge difference. Last recommendation: While you are working with QUIETEN and or Julian during your recovery, don't be afraid to seek out a qualified psychiatrist: whom are medical doctors to see if they can help you if you cannot do this alone! You are without a doubt in my thoughts and prayers! You can do this! - Robbie

@@rams745 Disclaimer: I am not a Doctor, This is what I have learned from my recovery and hours of unnecessary suffering, research and consulting with so many medical professionals regarding tinnitus. QUIETEN the APP download is a must for your recovery! This is a mindset! This is not something you can fight! Know that your mind is trying to fight because it does not know what to do with the 24x7 noise! This is the crux of the issue: (FIGHT OR FLIGHT or HYPERSTIMULATION!). This is what I am talking about in my video that Julian posted! #1 Never even think about giving up that's just not an option, remove the negative, because you're going to have great days ahead of you, and you are going to get better. Be patient, kind and loving to yourself! This challenge; like many others before you, will be forgotten or no longer in your awareness, but this takes time!. Your mindset must change in order to recovery correctly and for the Longterm!! I know exactly what you're going through at these initial stages. I want to reiterate you're going to be okay, you're going to recover it takes time! Your simply STUCK in a limbic loop. This is a very confusing time for people who just develop tinnitus, it's a nerve racking experience, your body is not at its baseline and you are thrown well out of Whack. Your mind and central nervous system are simply not able to tolerate or used to the noise 24 hours a day, so all of your psychological systems are flaring up trying to learn how to manage through this! Again, it is so important to Download Julians QUIETEN App. Play the positive tinnitus affirmation over and over again and start at LEVEL 1 in his tinnitus matrix. This is going to help you recover! Again, I will also reiterate use sound masking at night to help you sleep find your sound on UA-cam that hides your tinnitus. Play it on a TV or Mobile Device. When you find the sound the matches your tinnitus, play it on the TV or MOBILE Device just at the volume that it stops the noise in your head. Please re-read my comments above. Make sure you have it on a 10 hour loop, and don't panic when you stop listening to a masker. You need to calm down your central nervous system. This is a very important stage to start QUIETEN! If you cannot sleep 1 before you Goto bed Take a hot shower, switch it from, Warm to Cool, Warm To Cool Slowly. Then Hot to Cold and Hot To Cold, yawn stretch breath slowly and equal. This will relax your lymphatic system, and help to ease the tension in your Parasympathetic Nervous System. Exercise and diet way are huge, SUGAR AND SALT PUSH right into tinnitus. If you truly cannot sleep on your own I recommend that you speak to or find a General Practitioner or a Psychiatrist tell them what is going on. Tell them that you are having trouble sleeping because you are bothered by your newly developed tinnitus. More than likely they will temporarily prescribe you something for sleep or anxiety or both to keep you at your emotional baseline, just be honest with yourself and them. Also, Julian email Julian and schedule a zoom session! Remember this is a process and you are going to be okay. Please download QUIETEN.

I had a hearing test. I actually had two. I had one in 2019. And another one was in 2022. both said You do not have hearing loss. Your hearing is normal. Really? Ok. Then how is it that my ears are ringing so bad if everybody says oh, your ears are ringing because you have hearing loss. And another thing is I wear glasses. I'm 49 I've been wearing glasses since the age of three. What is this half to do with earsWhat does this have to do with ears What it has to do with the ears. Is that when you have one area of your body? That is not working well such as needing eye glasses. I have a stigmatism. The other areas will overcompensate So as a child I remember hearing very high-pitched tones. As a child and as I got older, my ears have not been able to hear those very high pitch. Ed tones like I used to when I was six or seven. I don't know if that is hearing loss. Or just normal aging, i'm not sure. But my a stigmatism is pretty bad in my eyes. And I can read without glasses, but I cannot drive without glasses. So I think I need to go back just to my gluten. Free sugar, free and dairy free lifestyle. Because remember everything that you eat is your diet You can't say I'm going on a diet because if you say that that means you haven't been eating ever. What you eat is your diet, so if you have a diet of twinkies. Ding dongs and beer and cereal, I would say you have a horrible diet! Do not eat a standard American diet, which is very high in white carbohydrates. That is the worst thing you can do. And i'm saying this because in 2018 After my mom died Diane my life coach and my friend came into my life and started teaching me about inflammation in the brain. And inflammation in the gut and what I noticed was that ringing in my ears that I had it went down when I cut out all of the gluten, the dairy and the sugar. If you have somebody that you can be held accountable, too. The more the merrier, that's great, but not everybody has that. So I'm going to have to be held accountable to myself. Because not only did I lose 80 pounds in a year and a 1/2 But I also gained about 40 - 50 punfs back. And it's not cool when I stopped walking around and stopped exercising in 2020. Because I was told to stay home. Do nothing and get fat and I live alone. And I think I need to stop listening to all these videos and telling me to just ignore. Just ignore the ringing in my ears. I know when I was on gluten. Free. Dairy freeze sugar, free. My ringing in my ears wasn't as bad. NAC also helps. I think I need to go back to buying NAC
37:00 Ok. Use this app. Is it Free? I need a free app. Because I go to the science of mind "church" . It's called center for spiritual living and I already do this stuff I don't think I need a app to teach me how to do box breathing or to teach me how to do meditation. I already do that
Thank you for the very encouraging words. I know my tinnitus is caused by stress and negativity and to hear those admonitions from you is like a friend looking me in the eyes and saying...".you may want to consider a change in direction with regard to your outlook on life..... you may be doing this to yourself." Well, I am doing it to myself, and it is time, today, to change direction. Again, thanks.
How can I not stress about it or think about it if its a screaching awful loud noise. Lately its been horrible, makes me cry just to think its getting louder instead of quieter. Please help, I try and do things to keep my mind busy, but its so very loud. I do eat well, but am going to cut oats and grains out. I didnt know those were bad. There is something called Leniere. Have you heard of that?
Disclaimer: I am not a Medical Doctor or a Psychiatrist. However, I wanted to share this this with the tinnitus community this morning. A potential supplement for tinnitus suffers. As I continue to do a lot of research. I am going to reply in (2) Parts. I know how difficult it is when your ears are screeching 24 hours a day, been there done that. This where your tinnitus & your mind plays games with you. The more you cry, the harder you push into your tinnitus and on pressure your central nervous system. It’s a very difficult loop that you have to break, and it is up to you! This is where I initially recommend downloading QUIETEN the app by Julian Cowan Hill, and start by playing his “Positive Tinnitus Affirmation & Recovery Affirmations” in the audio section over and over again until it gets in your conscious and subconscious mind. After listening to those positive affirmations that you will recover about ½ dozen times while you are relaxing and breathing slowly and equally. Start moving onto his Matrix Level (1) listen to all the audio. Go for a walk, meditate, have a yawn fest and be positive no matter how loud the sound is and absolutely know that you are going to recover! If you send any other messages and push your self to the point of crying your only going to cause more stress on your already fragile central nervous system. Being loving towards yourself, relaxing and not playing into your tinnitus or panicking will reduce your volume overtime. Your mind is the strongest tool, you cannot allow the noise to control you or you will get stuck and it will get louder because the limbic system responds to the stress response & the initial trigger; which is your tinnitus sound. It goes round and round in a loop until it drives you to the breaking point. You must use a variety of Julian's techniques with QUIETEN along with a Lifestyle change, diet is critical, mindset change. Please I urge you work with QUIETEN. It’s simply a spike that can be induced for a wide variety of reasons ranging from stress and diet. You will recover you must be positive, unfortunately it is not (1) thing that helps your tinnitus. It’s a wide list of things that you have to do for yourself. Now: There is some new confirmed research that has been floating around the internet regarding tinnitus and GLUTAMATE production & GABA. (Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid). The American Tinnitus Association shows on their website: Why GABA may be one of the keys to understanding tinnitus) - www.ata.org/why-gaba-may-be-one-of-the-keys-to-understanding-tinnitus/ GABA = Gamma-Aminobutyric-Acid. Active case studies are proving that too much glutamate production is causing a problem with neural transmitters not working correctly from the inside of the ear to the brain. Suggesting that tinnitus can be a problem from GLUTAMATE. Glutamate controls the communications between the auditory sensors in the brain the inner hair cells of the cochlea. Too much GLUTAMATE opens neuronal sodium channels and apparently stops them from closing causing the neurons to keep firing. This continuation of firing creates free radicals and inflammation continuing to accrue affecting the mitochondrial of those cells. This excessive glutamate is causing those nerves to become overexcited affecting the cochlea with the transmission of auditory nerve to the auditory center of the brain. The suggestion is the brain now reads something that is now there CAUSING TINNITUS. Medical analysis is suggesting that we need to put the brakes on the production of Glutamate to inhibit that overstimulation; so, the brain and the ear can communicate normal again, and this is where GABA comes in. Gamma-Aminobutyric-Acid it’s an amino acid in the brain’s primary inhibitory transmitter. GABA will increase the production of Alpha Brain Waves, which will decrease anxiety, poor moods, panic attacks, help you sleep better and keep you more relaxed. This is in complete relationship to calming down central nervous system. This is why so many psychiatrists prescribe antidepressants, SSRI's & Benzodiazepines. The attempt to increase GABA production and inhibit glutamate production. GABA can be ordered as a supplement online. Some Doctors are suggesting the intake of 750mg twice daily, and it can take weeks to months for the supplement to work. You should consult your doctor! However, under no circumstances should you take GABA as a supplement if you are on any Psychiatric Medication without consulting your doctor. With a GABA supplement you should not be ingesting Aspartate & Aspartame & MSG, please do the research. This is generally found in (diet sodas, light or low-sugar juices and flavored waters), dairy products (such as light yogurt and low-fat flavored milk), nutrition bars, desserts (such as sugar-free puddings and gelatins, light ice cream and popsicles), chewing gum, sauces, syrups and condiments. Aspartame is also found in several types of low-calorie tabletop sweeteners. The most common brand of aspartame tabletop sweetener in the U.S. is Equal®. Brands outside the U.S. include Canderel® (found in Europe) and Pal Sweet® (found in Asia). In addition, some prescription and over-the-counter medications and chewable vitamins. This is why Julian's work is so critical and accurate with tinnitus. As he is a licensed psychotherapist, he is continually trying to have you CALM DOWN YOUR CENTRAL nervous system down. Using techniques like mindfulness, medications, yoga, breathing, and sending positive recovery messages to your conscious and subconscious mind. In my opinion Glutamate production may be playing a large role in your inability to CALM down and why you may be hearing tinnitus volume maybe blaring, this is where a GABA supplement 750 can be extremely effective. It has been explained on line that it can takes weeks to months for the supplement to work.

Hi Josh Great question! Candidly when I first developed tinnitus it was very difficult to sleep. Unfortunately while your habituating/recovering you have alot of sleepless nights which only exacerbates your tinnitus as well! Couple tips from my personal experience. 1.) it all starts with the mind set! Know without question you will recover. That means that you will come to a point that as insane as the sound is you will actually adjust to it over a period of a few months to a year. 2.) check with your Doctor Lunesta worked wonders for me to get quality sleep without being addictive unlike benzodiazepines. 2.) over the counter Melatonin 10mg and a 750MG GABA supplement from the NOW company nightly! Also used masking sounds on UA-cam at times before I could be with my tinnitus to get the sound out of my head. Find your frequency. For me it’s 13,000hertz! Also exercise early in the morning and physically exhaust your self! This helps with anxiety! Your in my prayers!
I woke up to a 0.5 this morning. Also experienced 0.5 a few days ago. Hoping this is a good sign of more to come.
Have you improved? Curious as I'm month 6.
Did you have hearing loss ?
What kind of things helped you to habituate over time except maskers?
This video is spot on! After having t for about 20 years i know that recovery from suffering are a mindset journey. This video sums my own experience very well!
Best wishes from Sweden 🇸🇪
Why are ENTs so damn useless? Not just that but like he said, they treat you like an annoying dog. Horrible people
There is a huge lack of education and understanding in the ENT community.
Mine was also mean and i cried in his office he was so horrid.

Hello Adam, I too have a hising sound for 1month and half.. How are you doing now? First month was horrible now the sound is still there but I am a little more calm
@secdirect700 have you experienced reactive tinnitus?
@@chantald222 Absolutely!

All the best - Robbie

@@SecDirect700I've had no ringing today and if some it was very low. Glory be to GOD and all the positive remarks. I know it will return and I will be mentally prepared. Keep up the good changes in your life dont give up. Praise the lord that it will go away for good or diminish. I had a bad night last night but overall today was a good day.

God bless you brother. I really needed to hear this. Thanks to Mr Jillian also. I have heard him too. Thanks to you guys for helping lot of tinnitus sufferers.
I got tinnitus in this July. This video really is very helpful!! God bless you!!
Thank you so much for your story and for the encouraging way you tell it, as well! Blessings.
Brilliant positive video.... I've had tinnitus for 2 to 3 weeks..
What did you have laser eye surgery for and was it's the cause?

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

I'm happy for you.
how are you now? yeah i panicked and mine started like this i think
Thanks Rob, very helpful and promising, and correct in advice. God bless.

Thank you so much
God bless you. Thank you for your statement. This is the right path.
Hi, im from Philippines can you share what did you do, to be back in your hearing..
So much thanks ,god bless

@@johnbryan2414it’ll get better. Fasting has helped me.
Are you better?
My tinnitus just started a couple weeks ago.
It’s medication induced. I was on a med and did fine, then the dose got increased and this.
I actually have a quite-peaceful life.
It came upon me like lightening BAM!
It’s one ear and I a desperate for help
Thank you so much.
Rob
Which med?
you give me so much hope….thanks!
Thank you so much! I had the same experience you had. It was so sad. I’m 10 months into it and still on my journey. Videos like yours is so soothing.
I’m from Throgs Neck BX and live in Houston Texas now. Wish me luck 🙏🏽
Caroline, no need for luck! You have so got this! Without a doubt you are in my prayers!
Our body is telling us to change things, it's all going to be fine 🙏❤️
Thanks for this great video. I really picked up on the fact that the levels can be so different day to day. Yesterday my T was v loud and pretty much took over my thoughts even though I knew - or hoped! 😅 it would return to the base level of tiny crickets in one ear slight whooshing in the other. Today it’s super mild for no apparent reason. Like you say, know that these days come and go and not to over obsess about why and how.
One thing I’m intrigued about is why the sounds are often louder when I have done meditation… weird! Also after naps.
Thanks again.
So Positive and So 💪🏾owerful! Thank You🙏🏾
This guy seems to still have alot of anxiety about his tinnitus.
@@SecDirect700 That’s great to hear. We have a very similar story, my first few months were bad. I am into month four now. Like your wife, my father has tinnitus and never mentioned it. This has been SO helpful!! Thank you for sharing your experiences! It helps because my experiences are so similar. Thank you for sharing your research. I’ve taken lots of notes! Now I’m more positive about better days ahead!! THANK YOU for giving me hope!!
Thank you Julian and Robbie for sharing this positive story. I've been watching your videos with tears in my eye's at times knowing what you say is how I feel and what started my tinnitus. I am improving now getting better slowly knowing stress plays a big part in my tinnitus. I believe I would be 'stuck' with blaring tinnitus if I hadn't found your channel. I also have a piece of paper with the words 'am I bovvered, NO' written on it stucked to my kitchen cabinet. A piece of advice taken from one of your videos. THANK YOU again. I'm getting there.
Really glad to hear it. Wishing you a steady recovery. Warm regards Julian

You are an inspiration and such a positive, calm person as you explain this to everyone. Thank you for taking the time to help others!
Excellent video!!! You totally confirmed what I ben learning about diet and stress. God Bless!!!

All I can say..Thank you thank you thank you!!

Okay, so conclusion: Regardless of all this information, ultimately
YOU ARE GOING TO RECOVER NO MATTER WHAT, YOUR SPIKE IS GOING TO COME BACK TO NORMAL LEVELS! Keep yourself relaxed and distracted and be positive during this time. If your spike is too much to handle find your masking sound, and play it at just equal volume externally on speakers. But it is best to be with your spike so you can habituate. Don't Stress to push so hard.
One last thing. (WOW)
DO NOT BE AFRAID TO RESEARCH OUT TO A PSYCHATRIST and get and evaluation.

I found taking magnesium supplements (better to take in the evening) has helped me a lot. It can get better X
Love you Rob. Bless you for doing this video. I Needed that positivity.
I first saw this video three months ago and was very helpful in accepting, and living with Tinnitus. Recovery is putting Tinnitus at the bottom of life's problem list.
Awww, Joe thank you so much! You've got this! I am praying for you! God bless!
Thanks for making this video!!

I like this one:
ua-cam.com/video/t6fLGSicJnk/v-deo.html
Jason Stephenson
Guided Sleep Meditation, increase positive vibrations as you sleep, let go of negativity.
And then start all over again tomorrow.
I hope this answer helps.
Let's remain positive in our tinnitus and neutral and non-reactive during our spikes.
Its a pleasure meeting you and I am right there with you!
Your in my thoughts and prayers. - Robbie

I empathise with you as far as hyperacusis is concerned, I suffer from this too ❤

Thanks for a wonderful video.
And what you say is true.
All the best

@@SecDirect700 thankfully very mild. Occasionally spikes to a 3-4/10 if I'm very stressed. Probably many people have this without noticing.

This is a tired auditory muscle twitching much like the eye muscles can twitch sometimes. Please do not worry. This is a temporary stress response. What will helps is to please practice the evening face massage on level one techniques in the matrix on my app www.quietenapp.com
Click on the matrix button at the bottom of the app home page and then click on the red banner then scroll through the techniques section to about the 7th video which is the evening face massage.

Thank you!!!!
Awe, you are most welcome!

Julian is excellent he's the only person l trust
Please do the evening face massage on level one techniques in the app www.quietenapp.com
Click on the matrix button at the bottom and then click on the red banner for level one "Stuck" and you will find a course of videos opening up which will help you understand what is going on and you will also find techniques.
For the UK go to: www.craniosacral.co.uk
For North America go to: www.craniosacraltherapy.org/practitioner-search
Hope this helps.

@@EDURNELIFE585 EDURNELIFE ENGLISH translation: (Take a diazepam or sleeping drops...they help you sleep). He has an extremely valid point! Your General Practitioner Can Prescribe: you a light dosing for Clonazepam or something in the BENZO/VALIUM class family to help you relax. You should truly seek a psychiatrist on this as VALIUMS and BENZOS as they are GABA Receptors. They work wonders and will help you sleep and calm down, however they are highly addictive and your brain sends singles to the neural receptors to take more because you feel more relaxed. Again: Medical Disclaimer I am not a Doctor! Clonazepam/Klonopin/Zanax or a Benzo class family drug can help your anxieties while your are in the initial stages trying to cope or sleep at night. Please reach out to a psychiatrist if you are going to do this! Truly needs to be monitored. There are other sleeping alternatives that are non-addictive like - Lunesta 1 to 3mg which is extremely effect in getting quality sleep. A licensed and qualified psychiatrist may determine that you need an SSRI, or other things. This is where you go for medical help and explain what is going to the correct person. That is without question a qualified psychiatrist who specializes in anxiety, depression, PTSD, sleep disorders etc. In the mean time, until you determine what to do LAVENDAR & Chamomile tea, you can find on amazon "BIGELOW BENEFITS" for sleep help! Easy on the idea of MELOTONIN a lot of people have terrible night terrors on Melatonin.
Please remember your going to be okay and recover, don't hyper accelerated your stress and central nervous system. This will severely push into your tinnitus.
This is where Julian's works is SO SO important: Download Quieten to help you cope & recover from Tinnitus: Julian Cowan Hill is a licensed Psychotherapist: who completely understands Tinnitus.
I just entered Silence 10 minutes ago, because I really relaxed. But this took months!
Relax I am telling you everything is going to be okay, make sure you reinforce this to your subconscious. When I first started with Tinnitus & Hyperacusis I was completely there! Without Julian and Quieten, I would have had a major problem!

@@EDURNELIFE585 gracias lo boi a probar ya tienes tiempo con el zumbido ?
I had a hearing test. I actually had two. I had one in 2019.
And another one was in 2022.
both said You do not have hearing loss. Your hearing is normal.
Really?
Ok.
Then how is it that my ears are ringing so bad if everybody says oh, your ears are ringing because you have hearing loss.
And another thing is I wear glasses.
I'm 49
I've been wearing glasses since the age of three.
What is this half to do with earsWhat does this have to do with ears
What it has to do with the ears. Is that when you have one area of your body? That is not working well such as needing eye glasses. I have a stigmatism. The other areas will overcompensate
So as a child I remember hearing very high-pitched tones.
Because remember everything that you eat is your diet
You can't say I'm going on a diet because if you say that that means you haven't been eating ever. What you eat is your diet, so if you have a diet of twinkies. Ding dongs and beer and cereal, I would say you have a horrible diet!
Do not eat a standard American diet, which is very high in white carbohydrates. That is the worst thing you can do. And i'm saying this because in 2018
After my mom died Diane my life coach and my friend came into my life and started teaching me about inflammation in the brain.
Because not only did I lose 80 pounds in a year and a 1/2
But I also gained about 40 - 50 punfs back.
37:00
Ok. Use this app.
Is it Free?
I need a free app. Because I go to the science of mind "church"
. It's called center for spiritual living and I already do this stuff
I don't think I need a app to teach me how to do box breathing or to teach me how to do meditation. I already do that
I have a question if somebody know about cortexi drop for tinnitus, if it good or that not true… thank
Thank you for the very encouraging words.
I know my tinnitus is caused by stress and negativity and to hear those admonitions from you is like a friend looking me in the eyes and saying...".you may want to consider
a change in direction with regard to your outlook on life..... you may be doing this to yourself."
Well, I am doing it to myself, and it is time, today, to change direction.
Again, thanks.
This is true ❤
The American Tinnitus Association shows on their website: Why GABA may be one of the keys to understanding tinnitus) - www.ata.org/why-gaba-may-be-one-of-the-keys-to-understanding-tinnitus/
GABA = Gamma-Aminobutyric-Acid.

Why do hearing aids make my tinnitus worse ?
Actually breathe out through your nose, this is important.
How’d you learn to fall asleep with it?
