As an i30 N Performance owner I would like to thank Hyundai and Mr Biermann, the car is fantastic and such a fun drive.
Do you still own the car? How was its running costs and services? Are there any known issues? I see a fair few over here (australia) being sold at around 30k km's, wondered if anything gives way around that milage? Cheers

@@Rogue_29 if you enjoy driving but also want practicality, I'd definitely recommend one. All my mates are super happy with theirs. Only reason I didn't get one myself is cause I don't drive manuals. That's why I'm waiting for the DCT version or the Elantra N DCT now. :)

Genuinely think this is the best Hot Hatch of the year. Not the fastest overall, but a goddamn fantastic package for the price.

Bierman said that Hyundai I30 N is not the fastest on the straight line but he is the king of the corners, there were races on racks with a lot of corners and Hyundai I30 N even overtook Honda Civic Type R which was second place.
@@blabre I believe I saw the same thing, I also saw an Australian review which put the i30N against every other Hot Hatch in their market, and it came out on top. Simply amazing. Cornering/Track speed is way more important than straight-line speed.
Hyundai I30 N also wins vs Golf R in race track that has a lot of corners, watch this.

If not the best hot hatch it's sure been the most surprising hot hatch of the year. Really curious to try this car out soon.
The thing that attracts me to the i30 N the most is definitely that light blue paint it looks amazing

Hyundai is the next BMW. I've followed them from quiet a while since early 2000s when my family first owned a santro. A basic, affordable hatchback. They've slowly and consistently moved up the value chain, improving their products. Now they have a performance division called N modelled very like the M division of BMW. Hyundai has figured out the Asian markets which gives it a huge boost to compete internationally

If Hyundai would sell an i30/Elantra N in the USA, I'd be tempted to buy a Hyundai.

@@guguigugu Lighter, shorter wheelbase, subjectively better looks. I love the Veloster N, but an Elantra GT N would have barely snagged my attention.
They do sell them in the states! It’s called the Elantra gt sport or Elantra gt n line.
@@jowxyo No, the Elantra hatchback doesn't get the N drivetrain in the USA. The Elantra GT comes with a 1.6 turbo.

Went to the grossglockoner in september, and i was not prepared for how impressive this road is. Genuinely breathtaking. Thing is, there is so much to see, you don't really feel like driving like an idiot.
I like how simple this car looks. Hyundai didn't go for a childish "sporty" design like Honda.
Can't wait for the 8-speed auto to hit South Africa 🇿🇦

I still have the same car and I am very happy with it. Service is really cheap for this power car. I haven't had a problem with him all this time. Only pay attention to frequent oil changes if you drive very sporty.

Can we please get this in the US. I don’t like the way the veloster looks and the fact that it’s asymmetrical really bugs me.
Personally, I disagree, I love the Veloster's styling, but to each their own

Hmm think that rain was unfortunate but honestly it seemed like a great addition, testing a hot hatch in the elements, and getting a feel of what it's really like.
I don't care about the badge, or that it isn't the best looking. I test drove this; and lawd, it was fun to drive 👌

You don’t buy a car like this for the sake of showing off a badge, or because of how expensive it looks inside with all the glossy bits of plastic (plastic is still plastic, but badge snobs won’t understand) and stupid ass LED lights all over the damn cabin and dashboard...yes i’m talking about Merc and VW.
It’s twice the driver’s car of a similarly priced german could ever hope to be, let that sink in.
Plus i honestly think that only the Megan RS and A45 beat this in the looks department.
This car is gorgeous looking. Put a BMW badge on it and nobody would say it isn't good looking.

Don't worry it's coming. Evo mentioned the test car with 395bhp parked in Hyundai test centre at the Ring when they tested the almost production ready i30N. i20N is next and coming soon to take on the Fiesta ST then I've heard the 4wd car is next.
@@bat33.12 A Sonata N and Kona N will come next. i20 N will be for the next gen of i20. The Kona N will probably get the 4WD, although I am not a fan of Haldex fake wheel drive. It sacrafices cornering ability for straight line acceleration. Every hot hatch with Haldex diffs have a heavy tendancy for understeer. I would much rather see them skip Haldex and switch to the Quaife diff (Focus RS, 2020 AMG 45) immediatly. Those are fun to drive AWD without sacraficing to much of the corner stability.
@@Iron883Man i20N has been testing for months at the Nürburgring along with the 8 speed auto i30N which is confirmed for late 2020. There has been talk of a 350bhp 4wd Kona N and a test car has been pictured but no details of it being 4wd or power outputs yet. Though I now believe I'm wrong about the 4wd i30N from recent comments made by Albert Biermann who has stated that 4wd is not necessary. They had a test mule with 4wd before the i30N was released but with a Halo mid engine car with the Porsche Cayman in it's sights I guess the 4wd is not a priority?
@@bat33.12 The i20 spotted did not have any N logo's. It's a modified current gen i20 with a 1.6 T-GDI delivering 177 hp. But I don't think they will release one, as there are no visual upgrades to the car, other than a set of N wheels. I've heard they are launching the new gen in 2020 and an N version of it will follow shortly after. I'm not sure about the Kona getting 4WD as there is no available in the current Kona line up, but sinds it's an SUV...it would be fitting. The test mule (currently RM19, but there have been 14, 15 and 16 itterations) is a rear wheel driven mid engine Veloster. An i30 N AWD is in development, but with no plans of commercialising it in this generation.

The question is, why the US is not getting this model!!?? :'( This car looks fantastic!! This is how the Honda Type R should look.
US gets the Veloster N. 200lbs lighter and slightly lower. Car & Driver has it 0-60 in 5.2 seconds.
As person said above, plus the veloster N looks better than the version we get. Wish we could get the Veloster N looks over here.

Although Hyundai is a Korean brand, the i30N is not available in Korea either. 😂😂

For those of us who can't quite afford the type r and these are far more readly available. The Civic type r are extremely hard to get here in Covington Louisiana where I live

Give me an i30N over Civic type R any day.
By the way, the i30N warranty covers you for track days, Type R doesn't.

I’ve battled a lowered golf R in my base model Veloster N stock suspension with no electronic limited slip diff and he was not getting away from me, we were driving in a heavy rainstorm and we both didn’t want to let off but he started braking before I left my comfort zone, Veloster N base model 1, Golf R lowered 0

I'd buy this in a heartbeat if they brought it to the US. We only get the N Line, which is a pretty sweet ride for the money, but quite watered down.

Well done Hyundai - i own a Golf R and this would be my option if i was going for fWD. Type R Civic is amazing but looks horrible to me. This is more subdued. Seems like they have made a real drivers car here.
I have one, and i tell you know its the best car ive ever driven. Yes its very hard ride in N+ Mode but put it in eco its like a normal car sort of speak.
Are the dampers / suspension adjustable ?

I heard that alpaca eating more clearly than I heard the i30 N’s exhaust at any given point. As a side note, I’m once again bummed the US is so SUV-centered, I really would’ve loved considering this to be my next car. Such a bummer we don’t have it over here

Wasn’t for exhaust notes you wouldn’t bother considering a spirited FWD 4 banger shopping trolley for sporty drives. Proper sports cars are either RWD or AWD for good reason.

Look at 5:26, can u see the light fail? Look at right front light can u see a mist inside? This FAIL has all front leds from i30... Very good quality.

When u see the new Megane RS in real life, its a moment of clarity to which is the best Hot Hatch at the moment.
Take one to Manchester city centre with all its potholes and sunken manhole covers. If it survives without buckled wheels and damaged suspension, then I might be interested :)

Jori Diculous they take styling from multiple cars, and crunch it together. I've noticed they mixed some genesis, some forte, and some Kia sorento. I personally think its neat. (I own a 2013 veloster turbo) it makes a lot of grip.
My 09 Rio5 has some definite style Of the i30n.
