@AJOSUE man me too... I have a malibu with 2 sundown xv2 rebuilt with corey dean recones... just broke my mirror off like 2 weeks ago... I want 15s too
I just checked out all your recent-1yr videos and i see that you have gone through the ZV6, Avatar, DB, Sundown NEO mag, now the orions, I have to say man American bass has never let me down, Look at the Godzilla's, Kings.
Yeah I should have stopped at the ZV6 12s but the weight was a problem, DB I just wanted the NEO 10s done because I had to pay some bills, same as the Z’S and the avatars I couldn’t properly support it, the enclosure wasn’t doubled up, couldn’t fit another baffle and these Orions certain songs I love to play they can’t play that low 🤦🏾♂️
@@AJOSUE the unfortunate thing is you experienced what is said to be one of the best LOW playing subs the ZV6. so now you compare it to that and it is hard to beat. the sub that i like is the timpano subwoofers they get pretty low and pretty affordable
Im curious, where and when did you buy these? Ive seen the ones from 12 years ago take 8k to the face and not smell or bottom out, it was the black coil models i believe
How are you verifying what frequency the sub sonic filter is set at? Is it a digital adjustment? If it's a knob on the amp, the silk screen might be inaccurate. It might say 25hz, but in reality it could be 18 or 22, etc... You'd need an electrical RTA to see the signal to know for sure. I don't think you have that, so just turn the knob up a little bit to a higher frequency. Go 5hz higher to 30hz or even 35hz. See if that prevents the subs from bottoming. Basically adjust it by ear.
@AJOSUE I'm not familiar with that device. Assuming your bottoming out on the very lowest notes where your subs are unloading, bumping up the subsonic frequency should help.
@@JasonWW2000 CC-1 is the crossover calibration device, DD1 gains and they both gain match amps cost me $400 for both together. And yes it would help but but I wouldn’t be too happy with that, I listen to a lot of songs that’s in the 20s
@@AJOSUEAre you running a dsp? That might be the solution for your problem. You can turn off the subsonic on your amp and use the crossover on the dsp. You'll have a lot more control. The amp subsonic filter might be a fixed 24dB per octave. With the dsp you can try a smoother slope, like 12dB. (Most newer dsp's can give 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36+ dB slope options) So instead of a 25hz/24dB slope you might try: 30hz/18dB or 30hz/12dB. It won't take away too much at 20hz, but still hopefully protect you from bottoming out. Another option is lowering the port tuning a bit. Maybe use an aero port which is easy to adjust. That might require a new box, though. Maybe remove the port from your current box, seal it and add a 6 inch aero in between the two subs. All firing forward. IDK, just a future idea you can try.
I been following you for a minute I love the mailbu build
Thanks man, wish I could 15s in this thing

@@eddiegloss1529 if you build the in the trunk you fit it, but can't do that, I need to be able to take it out if need be.. what amp you have on it
@AJOSUE lol I'm in the same boat... lol I need to be able to pull mine out too... a digital design m5 on 96ah headway 320 alt brand x
@@eddiegloss1529 ah you must have the ltz cause brandx don’t make anything bigger than this 200a for the 2.4L

@@Zachecker yes they were brutal, by far my favorite build and a close 2nd are these 10s I’m considering going with 2 Hcca 12s to compare the 2
the orion's on the crossfire 6k 🤯 great pair those orions can handle an 8k
The 12s yes not the 10s, I’m actually over powering them, I have been told to switch amps or wiring it up to 2 ohms
Im curious, where and when did you buy these? Ive seen the ones from 12 years ago take 8k to the face and not smell or bottom out, it was the black coil models i believe
If they are wired to 1 ohms probably getting half the power, mine are at .5ohms and I’m barely getting any rise

I use the CC-1 by smd
If it’s wrong they better refund me my money 😅
