This is about 6 months old. 8 years ago I had about 6 sleep stories on this channel. I didn't focus this channel on sleep stories until September 2019. It was a mental health and autism channel back then... Edit: Just realised you might have meant you keep coming back to the channel 8 years later, rather than to this story! D'oh...
In sleep story terms a long story has always been a story of 40 minutes or longer, with a typical story being about 25-40 minutes and anything under 25 minutes classed as a short story. It just happens that nowadays people seem to want rain sound to continue on after the story and videos to be 3 hours, so this is what I have to do. When I release the stories without rain continuing they don't get views. Most creators videos like this are usually much shorter stories than I make, often about 25 minutes long and then just rain. If I was making 3 hour stories I would have to release a video once per month rather than weekly and unfortunately that would be negative for my channel and 3 hour stories don't get more views than 3 hour videos with approximately one hour stories (like this one which is a 59 minute story) like I generally aim to create, so financially it doesn't make sense to spend a month making each video rather than releasing a video weekly... I do put stories together into compilations which I release on UA-cam and obviously on other platforms, like my app, Insight Timer, the Slumber app, Patreon, Spotify and other streaming services etc, you can create playlists of stories to the length you would like the storytelling to be to listen to...
"Wow!" You always have a nice reading voice, but you sound noticeably different in this recording. Slightly raspy? A little aged? Idk but you've got an Attenborough-level narration here and it's extra pleasant! Thanks for the zzz's, goodnight!
I can't remember the video I responded to a comment on recently, but I had someone else mention my voice being different in more recent videos and I explained how going back a couple of years I would comfortably record perhaps 8 hours of sleep stories back to back without my voice changing, but now, within about 20 minutes I lose my voice, struggle to talk, my voice goes raspy and I need to cough to clear my voice up, which sometimes helps, and then it happens again. My voice has also got noticeably deeper over the last couple of years, which can make it sound muddy and not so clear to listen to. Both problems I've not found suitable solutions for yet. I've tried EQing my voice to reduce the low end, and to increase clarity etc, but normally I don't like the sound of the resulting voice because I don't think it sounds like me. It may be that others would like it, but to me, I'm used to the sound of my recorded voice and so it sounds odd and I don't like it, so I end up sometimes cutting the lower frequencies, which is common to do any way to reduce background noise like traffic etc, but other than that, just leave it alone. I have also tried some different microphones, trying microphone which have less richness and depth to them, like the podmic, but then I find my voice sounds tinny, which I don't like...
This is a fantasy land in a fantasy world where someone weaves dreams, catching them and weaving them into the fabric, altering them based on the knots and weaves, so the dreams are caught in what in this fantasy world are termed dreamcatchers to help resonate pleasant dreams to those nearby, rather than based on or related to dreamcatchers people might buy in new age stores etc. It is just a term I felt suited what the item is in the story...
What a lovely Story……. Think I’m going to hang a dream catcher above my bed! You never fail to amaze me what you can come up with next! Thank you Dan.
I’ve been hooked on your sleep stories for 2 years now and it’s changed my life. I get the best sleep from your videos. Thanks Dan❤️

I wish it was an actual long sleep story. Not just music after 45min

I remember nothing😄😐
Dream catchers are meant to catch bad dreams.. couldn't shake this thought so couldn't relax 😅😅😅
